Did the same when Vanford got released got heavily discounted Stradic Ci4+ brought 3 at about 40% off & yet they put $50 higher rrp on the new 1 & then another $50 now Vanford/Stradic in Australia is over $400 yet I payed 200 for 1 & 250 for 2 can't see any reason for such ridiculous prices
Thanks for the review but it has 4 upgrades and the only one that’s debatable is the anti twist fin. The drag is actually an improved material that was brought down from the Stella. From the top of my head it’s called Dura Cross felt and it’s woven in a way that makes it a lot more durable but keeps the superior smoothness of felt. It also has Infinity Cross not just Infinity drive. So 4 upgrades on this reel not just 1. The Infinity Drive and Cross help with gear durability and power.
I just think the prices have gone completely insane lately! I was looking at a C3000XG, and 277 USD (in todays exchange rate) for any reel is madness. For that price I'd rather grab two Fuego's and a lunch for the same price in total. And it's not just the Stradics; seems like all Shimano reels in my neck of the woods have been marked up by 20% or more! I have a bunch of them and like them alot, but they have just priced themselves out this time imho.
Shimano reels are fantastic! I love them. But this new stradic isn't much different from the FL. The fl was on sale and I'm sure you can get one at a good price.
@@tackleaddictgy The FLs are completely sold out here. I think I grabbed one of the very last a couple of months ago, a 4000 size. Got two FKs in 2500 and 3000 that still go strong, so by now it's more want than need for me, I just like having spares the day I need to switch them out. 😁
The spool is indeed long stroke spool. I over looked it and was an error on my part. I just compared it with another reel of same size and the spool is slightly taller. Nothing major but slightly taller. Sorry about the misinformation.
The FL introduced the long stroke spool feature to the Stradic line. Are you saying the long stroke spool on the new FM is taller than the long stroke spool on the 2019 FL?
It is not felt drags. It is DuraCross Drag. (Unleash the power of the new Shimano DURACROSS high-density felt washer, combining the smoothness and sensitivity of traditional felt with the remarkable durability of CROSS CARBON DRAG. This ground-breaking advancement guarantees superior drag performance, enabling you to effortlessly control the fight and conquer the toughest opponents.) This is the same drag that is used in their Stella.
Key word "felt drag" doesn't matter the fancy terms. Daiwa (in my opinion) got the best felt drag. At the end of the day carbon fiber drag will win. I'd choose carbon fiber drag anyday all day.
your rply literally says felt in it lol. The fact they are too cheap to put carbontex (like a dollar for them) in their reels is hilarious to me. I get the upgrade off ebay for like $8 shipped.
Felt drag in small reels is there for a reason which is smoothness , stella or not as long as it’s a small reel it meant for light to ultra light fishing scenarios , carbon is not recomended for such high smoothness.
@@tackleaddictgy it's kinda disappointing with the FM . I got mine the first time with scratches all over the back cover . Luckily the seller agreed to exchange a new one for me . Shimano is cheapskate this time around with removing the transparent plastic which came with the FL to cover & protect this new one . Bantam oil isn't in either . 😅
If buying a new reel, just get the FM model because FL model just slightly cheaper not a whole lot You get a bigger gear design in FM model and should be more rugged than FL.
Hello friend, today my stradic fm 4000 arrived, everything is very good, the only thing I don't like is that the spool has a little play from top to bottom, it is the main shaft the one who has de play. I have other cheaper reels with less play in the shaft. I thought it was going to be more tighter being a more expensive reel
Not necessarily true about being more tighter because it's more expensive. Sometimes cheap reels and built really good compare to expensive ones. But that play is normal. Nothing to worry about and nothing that will hamper the function of the reel.
The best thing about the FM’s release is that the FL went on sale in my local tackle shop. =)
Bingo!!!
yep, got an hg for a great buy recently

What do u think of the fm with a st croix avid inshore for saltwater snook fishing (slots and studs)
Shimano just regurgitated more or less of the same reel and gave it a new name.
which reel do you advice for light spinning and eging?
Shimano Vanford, super light

Does the FL spool fits on to FM reel ? Thank you!
Yes
Hi. Rotor is the same like FL or - metal, like twin power?
Same as FL

@@WeldingForJesus the FM is nice! Just not any major upgrade. So you can get that also if you wish.

@@bcp5296d suppose to be a hybrid .... I dont' know.. their words, not mine. This is what is the Stellas.
It's 10x tougher than the carbon fiber 😉

Hi, i realise there's no reel foot or backing stickers strips in the box . Unlike the FL . 😢
Thats correct

Sustain reels are good. Shimano makes good stuff.

Не понимаю, почему Шимано делают уже третье поколение Страдик в одном и том же дизайне.
