Well done, Eric! I found the story of the train robbery particularly interesting because the tour guide said the last living bandit ended up serving 18 years in the Yuma Territorial Prison and I knew exactly what that must have been like because of your earlier video tour of the prison! I feel like I'm on this road trip with you and Jax and I'm really enjoying myself. Thank you so much.
Great Video! I got a kick out of the guide's comment that a particular stalagtite discoloration was due to "hair products and blood". Definitely makes you want to watch out for "low-hanging" objects! I watch (and thumbs up) you video's everyday. Keep up the great work.
Hi Eric, I enjoyed the video. Great cave and info on that. I thought the stabilizer worked well, especially walking along the road. I think it's great to check out the tools and to keep an open mind while creating. Great work.
Great video. You do a great job letting us newbies know the cool attractions out there. Hoping to set sail soon for my maiden voyage. Just wish the weather would let up a little here in northern New England. Be safe, my friend!
That was great! I've never been in a cave before. The cave escort / guide was a good talker too. How or why people complain about the camera is beyond me. I appreciate any thing you film. So much for the Ney-Sayers because this isnt a Hollywood movie production, just an average guy with a camera sharing a Life Experience with everyone & nothing more.
Thanks for sharing. That reminded me of when I was a kid and went on one of those kind of cave tours. I think it was Mammoth cave on the east coast somewhere. Thanks.
*I* like that new toy! Crud..now I have to get one! On my wish list..... (I've done a ton of walking with the cam and certainly do notice how rough it can be and how smooth it is for you.)
Loved the tour, dark and all. I think your new stabilizer is pretty good. Not technical like all your criticizing commentators, but I enjoyed it. Keep it up!
I like cave tours. I've only been on a few. It seems every cave tour I've been on has had a place where there are three stalagmites near each other and call them the Holy Family. Guess you edited that part out! :) Thanks for taking me along.
Great look at this cave. Quite similar (including the guide) to Timpanogos Cave here south of me in Alpine, UT. Very well done, and the camera work is perfect. Thanks. Always fun to look for your vids everyday. I hit a "like" and donate on occasion. Drunner
+Nomadic Fanatic Thanks for the tour... That's about as close as I'll ever get to that cave, I'm guessing! Not for those dark, dank, narrow places with Stag-ma-scalpers, or whatever the heck called! Going up one of teh first steps, I thought the camera actually "rocked" rhythmically a bit more than just naturally, but overall, pretty cool.
Excellent video, I applied for a job transfer in Vail, I am glad you showed some video from there. I went with a round camera to avoid side shake, I just ended up with bouncing up and down instead so I would say your stabilizer is the better option.
Other than a little bit of picture warping that I don't recall seeing before, I saw an immediate improvement in the smoothness of the movement. I'm thinking that you are maybe tinkering with settings for the best results? I think the stabilizer was well worth the wait. When you are walking its almost like the camera is on tracks ...very smooth! I'm thinking that since your videos seem to be about of 2 -3 days behind, that you should be getting pretty close to your like new rv right about now? Cant wait to see it, and travel in that one. Will be awesome for you if it has air ride. I am over joyed for you kind sir. May the good Lord continue to bless you and keep you safe.
Looks like a keeper. I agree that perhaps there's some post processing stuff going on but I went into this video with the idea that you were experimenting and trying out something new and wasn't disappointed. It doesn't have to be perfect especially when you preface the whole thing that you aren't going to be perfect with it right off. The cave looked interesting enough that it would be fun to travel and see it myself. :)
Awesome stabilizer. Those low light shots are mega super challenging. Can u wear an LED forehead lamp? And carry an LED flashlight? 2 light sources, offset from the camera, to the sides, above, and/or below, can help u create the perfect lighting in a low light setting...
Eric this is not related to this video. Another way for you to make a few extra $ is to set up an Amazon account where if someone buy an item through your account you make a percentage. Just a suggestion
That's a great tool man. You sold me on it. I would suggest getting a DSLR camera if you can. Those takes phenomenal video. They would also do good in a dark place like a cave. My Canon 650D takes beautiful, high quality 1080p video.
It is a lot smoother and nicer. Now you don't have to concentrate on keeping your stride smoother so not to have jumpy video. Now you can concentrate in coming up with different creative video shots while you walk. I am going to get one too now that I have seen this video. Thanks buddy for the review.
Hey Eric :-) I love your videos, sometimes I feel like I'm riding shotgun. It's a nice relief for me, after coming home from a long day of dealing with the grind.
@Davoin Shower-Handel Most of the donation you make to charity is eaten up by admin costs (keeping the manager in a comfortable car etc.). If you want to give to children or military then try and give to them directly. Anyway, if people like Nomadic's work then he should get paid for it. Nobody's getting rich here, if he can scratch a living out of it then that's okay, at the end of the day we all have to eat, don't we? :-)
The stabilizer works well enough, but I wouldn't use it all the time, just for panning shots of areas, around your RV, etc. Just hand holding the camera gives more of a 'you are there' feeling, so mix it up. For those wondering about the video quality in the dark cave, its because its shot in a dark cave! Its not compression, you need a good DSLR with better low light capability to shoot video in a dark cave.
Damn...I just realized that I have not been back to Colossal Cave in over five years. So thanks to Eric for reminding me of another item to add to my "Tourist in My Own State" bucket list :)
NIce Job Eric. how long did it take to balance it. and you are right takes lots of practice, but it looked like you had a good handle on it right from the get go
Does the stabilizer work with the monopod? It is a cool tool and could come in handy. If it was mine, I would keep it and play with it a bunch. Could that tour guide have moved any faster? He didn't seem to give people time to look around and enjoy the cave. Thanks for that tour, too. I am a bit claustrophobic and don't know if I could do it. Safe journies
I felt using the stabilizer walking around the RV helped. It gave that flowing feeling and that's what you want. Course you get what you pay for and Hollywood uses very expensive ones. Stabilizers work best using wide angle lenses just like tripods help when using telephoto lens or zooming in tight on something. Also you other video where it was really windy and you had a hard time closing your RV door the lapel mike worked very well. Did not hear any wind noise.
Mascara and other beauty products contain the crystalline form of guanine, not guano. It is manufactured from fish scales and functions as an opacifying agent which has a shimmering effect.
Nomadic Fanatic Stabilizing in post might not be such a good idea as it may get that 'bendy' look on your video. Everything should be done on camera, You ever use the UA-cam stabilizer on your videos, it makes the 'bendy' look. I saw the 'good' stabilization when you walked round your RV with it but walk slower I would say, it just looked a bit fast! :-)
Eric, maybe in some other types of shooting would the stabilizer be ideal, however, not in this video. I got a little "seasick" with the camera rocking back & forth. LOVE the content though!
Also, if you do keep the post production stabilization, shoot in 1440P, stabilize, and render in 1080P. That should take care of any blurriness, if your gopro supports 1440P.
I've got one of those, or at least a similar camera stabilizer that I got from Amazon. My best camera though is my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge... Way beyond what UA-cam needs but still not a dedicated camera. Anyway, balancing a smart phone on one of those is tricky. I figured it out though. Take the weights off, and replace them with a 1/4-20 bolt, nut, and a stack of washers. Adjust washers until your balance is right. Works okay, but I REALLY want a powered gimbal!
I just want to fast forward to the new RV!!!!!!!! Im stoked for you bro.. But I hate your subb's filled with assholes. Some of them just drive me crazy with messages.lol Only they can have a opinion and not as open minded as I thought they would be. But you and Jax rock keep the videos coming:)
Gadget is good but I think it's made for fast or more turbulent shots you always have a good sturdy hand you really need this gadget more when you are on your bike, running, climbing ect..... Definitely do not return it it will come handy when you least expected. Be safe
Eric you seem like a handy kind of person, why don't you try some DIY projects for your GoPro. There are tons of videos on UA-cam for making your own equipment and gadgets especially using my favorite DIY material PVC. I've made a monopod for my DSLR, PVC GoPro pole that breaks down and a stabilizer. All work well and can be modified or rebuilt to fit my needs.
It's crazy how many trolls are attracted to this channel. Honestly, there are less on the ufo, Mars anomaly or conspiracy channels with close to similar number of subscribers, than here. I'm honestly, surprised. From youtube experts to youtube attorneys to youtube racists to donation haters..truly comes full circle on the RV lifestyle channel.
Yeah I noticed that too. Half the comments on here are from trolls. I watch a lot of the other van/rv/travel channels but this channel is the only one I've seen with trolls and haters
Well done, Eric! I found the story of the train robbery particularly interesting because the tour guide said the last living bandit ended up serving 18 years in the Yuma Territorial Prison and I knew exactly what that must have been like because of your earlier video tour of the prison!

Glad you got to enjoy southern AZ during good weather. I am enjoying your videos.
I been in that cave in the 70's and was thrilled with your video. This cave had beautiful natural sculptures and a neat western story.
Liked the new stabilized video, plus great subject matter, neat cave! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Great video Eric. Loved the walking tour of the cave. I hope you do more videos like this one. Save travels bud!
Thanks for taking us along. My wife would not be able to do the steps, but this way she got to enjoy the cave and commentary with you!
I am a bit late 😊. I loved this! I have lived in AZ and CA and love going thru your videos as a new subscriber. Thanks.
Great Video! I got a kick out of the guide's comment that a particular stalagtite discoloration was due to "hair products and blood". Definitely makes you want to watch out for "low-hanging" objects! I watch (and thumbs up) you video's everyday. Keep up the great work.
That was a very interesting tour of the cave Eric loving the longer videos! :-)
It's dark and rainy where I'm at so it's the perfect time to see a cave vid. Thanks for the upload.
Hi Eric, I enjoyed the video. Great cave and info on that. I thought the stabilizer worked well, especially walking along the road. I think it's great to check out the tools and to keep an open mind while creating. Great work.
Very cool vids! My Rex looks just like yer cat (eats as well too!) Last time in AZ we went to Kartchner Cavern near Benson.
Great video. You do a great job letting us newbies know the cool attractions out there. Hoping to set sail soon for my maiden voyage. Just wish the weather would let up a little here in northern New England. Be safe, my friend!

Nice coverage of the cave. Like your new GoPro tool.

I love your new tool Eric😁Think I'll go and buy one..

I am not an RVer, but I enjoy watching your videos. You have figured out what you like to do and how to make it happen.
I enjoyed the cave tour ... and the history of it ... and the fact that there could be a hidden bag of golden coins in there somewhere ... thanks .
That was a good video Eric. Low light was not bad at all. Thanks for sharing .
Enjoyed the cave tour too. It was cool. Thanks for that. Tell Jax hi.

Thanks Eric ! I Enjoyed seeing Something I never saw before !!!
I've got to get one of those stabilizers!
I liked the video. Thanks for posting!
Nice video,Erick, what a cave to get lost in there,oh my....
+Nomadic Fanatic Thanks for the tour... That's about as close as I'll ever get to that cave, I'm guessing! Not for those dark, dank, narrow places with Stag-ma-scalpers, or whatever the heck called!

That first breath of outside air and daylight .. 👍
Thanks for the cave tour! Very cool!

Thought I watched your old vids , cool vid Eric

Thanks for the tip about Amazon affiliates. I use Clickbank, sometimes slow but usually pays a bit.
I think the stabilizer work out great, keep the good work. (keep your wheels rolling)
That's a great tool man. You sold me on it. I would suggest getting a DSLR camera if you can. Those takes phenomenal video. They would also do good in a dark place like a cave. My Canon 650D takes beautiful, high quality 1080p video.

Jax's scratching post should last forever.

Espically The Bat Droppings,, YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA,, no Thanks,, But Good Vids!!!!!!,, Jack To,Our New Natural,, !!!!!!! JT!!!!
Cool. Lol I don't really like caves that much but the stabilizer seems to be doing good.
Does the stabilizer work with the monopod? It is a cool tool and could come in handy. If it was mine, I would keep it and play with it a bunch.

I was here at the cave once in 1982. (Guess it's still there and I am dating myself!) LOL

which GoPro are you using for the videos. they work great for making videos
Looks nice. Now I have to pick up one of these.
I saw the towel over your dashboard, it is for Jax or something else? Just curious
There is some weird effect when you are walking that makes it look like the image is folding or bending. Maybe premier's stabilization setting?
He do you mind sharing the equipment U use for your videos and also ur editing programs.
Thanks
How much does that thing for the Go pro cost? I have a Go pro and would love to have one.
I personally liked the cave tour and the stabilizer. Keep rolling and let the cry babies cry!
Question did you cut or trim your cat's claws
So where did you buy the stabilizer and how much did it cost?
Can you show the footage with the stabilizer without post-production software stabilizing? It seems like there's a lot of distortion added in post.
Mascara and other beauty products contain the crystalline form of guanine, not guano. It is manufactured from fish scales and functions as an opacifying agent which has a shimmering effect.
way better quality eric. love the gimble thing
you should watch The Descent, great cave movie!
Got a reference for the stabilizer?
Digipower Action Camera Stabilizer from Walmart and Best Buy.
Nomadic Fanatic Stabilizing in post might not be such a good idea as it may get that 'bendy' look on your video. Eric, maybe in some other types of shooting would the stabilizer be ideal, however, not in this video. I got a little "seasick" with the camera rocking back & forth. LOVE the content though!
Im just wondering why the gopro footage always looks so washed out and kinda blurry, have u set it to high compression?
ya, gopro I really not worth the price. good observation

Warning!!! If you are claustrophobic this video may disturb you. LOL
I am so in love with you' and your adventures with life! Love Jax; have 3 kitties myself. Live in Newport, TN.. hope to see you!
did anyone else smile when he said "guano" instantly thought of ace ventura ! XD
I did!
are you like a 5 year old. wow. I am just laughing out how immature you are. hahahahahahaha
wow!!! wish I was free! I am so jealous of this dude!!

Those kinds of camera stabilizers work better if you use a kind of glide walk.
I am not sure how much you paid for the stablizer but it doesn't appear to work very well. Maybe it just takes time to get used to it.
Don't return it the quality is Increíble super smooth
Cool cave!
I like the stablizer
hows the weed in AZ?
