- In this video we take you to one of Thailand's best known holiday island locations in the Gulf of Thailand that has been rated number 2 in the world, Tropical Destination by "Travel and Leisure Magazine", the magnificent Koh Chang.
In our previous video we looked around the White Sand Beach area in the north of Koh Chang and then made our way down the East coast to Koh Ngam and Salak Phet.
We pack up and move to the stunning Lonely Beach on Koh Chang where go snorkeling in prefect conditions in the Gulf of Thailand. We take you to have look at the awesome view from the Kai Bae viewpoint and take a look around this super cool village.
In the very south we head down to Klong Kloi a quite little beachside village with the perfect laid back holiday feeling, and we run into a tropical storm.
We finish off our wonderful experience in Bang Bao in the very south of Koh Chang.
Thailand has so many magnificent holiday destinations to experience and we think this one at Koh Chang is right up there with the best in the world.

Have you been to Koh Chang ?
No not yet. I have been several times on Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Your video makes me thinking to visit Koh Chang.

Not as many people as on Koh Samui especially if you go at the right time :)
We were there in start of November and just missed the Christmas holiday crowd :)
Have you been to Koh Lanta ?
Good to know that you liked it even more than Koh Phangan. For me it’s like home. I have been there 10 times now and we are there in summer. That’s not as full as in February, March and April. I haven’t been to Koh Lanta. My sister was there and she liked it.

Is Ko Chang a better place to retire than Ko Samui or Huahin ?
Thanks for your message. For retirement Koh Chang is very livable and the beaches are better than Hua HIN and Koh Samui in our opinion but Hua Hin is more affordable than both places
For what it's worth, from an expat living here things to think about for retirements sake. Koh Chang is a good distance from from any major cities. Getting around Thailand from there takes time. An awful lot of government services, the airport, good hospitals, shopping for things that you can't buy there etc... is all a ferry ride. In Hua Hin or Samui all of those things are 10 minutes away and getting anywhere here or your home country is simple. Just something to weigh out when thinking about retirement there.
