You might see children swimming in the river during rainy season. The river is flowing down from the Kulen Mountain where the 1000 Lingas were carved in the riverbed during Angkor Period!

Pretty easy, there are Songthaews that go up and down the road beeping to let you know they are coming so you can flag them down :)

It wasn’t too hot when we were there but it is coming into the warmer months I didn’t find the mosquitos too bad but you should be mindful if you are near the Riverside night market at sunset the mosquitos will be out :) So bring your favourite bug spray Thanks for watching g our video 🙏

Actually, when we were there many times and we didn’t find any mosquitoes or bugs, but If you don’t feel comfortable why not use it.

@robshaztravels Thanks for the info! I'm confident riding motorbike here in Canada but with the different road rules and dangers associated, I don't think I would drive there. Also I'm hearing that you could have travel insurance issues if you are the operator and get injured. Glad to hear there are other options there. Do you know roughly what it may cost to rent a driver for a day? Thanks again

@ your welcome 🙏 we are unsure how much it would be to hire a driver for the day probably best to search Koh Kood on Facebook and join some of the Koh Kood FB pages and ask there There is a FB page called Koh Kood Community which I am sure if you pop a question up there you will get a reply or a few :) I just did a quick search on that FB page 1200 for 4 hours with taxi4youthailand :)

@@shayna464 hey thanks for watching for NZ I would probably suggest White Sand beach, the beach is lovely and there are more shops, restaurants and bars to go to than down south :) We are heading back to Koh Chang soon to explore the Kae Bae area that area also appears to have a lot of shops, restaurants and bars but not sure about the beach there :) Hopefully will have that video out in 4 weeks ❤️

No not yet. I have been several times on Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Your video makes me thinking to visit Koh Chang.

@ we loved Koh Phangan and loved Koh Chang even more :) Not as many people as on Koh Samui especially if you go at the right time :) We were there in start of November and just missed the Christmas holiday crowd :) Have you been to Koh Lanta ?

Good to know that you liked it even more than Koh Phangan. For me it’s like home. I have been there 10 times now and we are there in summer. That’s not as full as in February, March and April. I haven’t been to Koh Lanta. My sister was there and she liked it.

Thanks for your message. For retirement Koh Chang is very livable and the beaches are better than Hua HIN and Koh Samui in our opinion but Hua Hin is more affordable than both places

For what it's worth, from an expat living here things to think about for retirements sake. Koh Chang is a good distance from from any major cities. Getting around Thailand from there takes time. An awful lot of government services, the airport, good hospitals, shopping for things that you can't buy there etc... is all a ferry ride. In Hua Hin or Samui all of those things are 10 minutes away and getting anywhere here or your home country is simple. Just something to weigh out when thinking about retirement there.

Riding the scooter is ok when the traffic is not so busy, most of the Islands are good to ride around. When you are in traffic the only thing we suggest is to take your time, keep to the left and if you are unsure about the traffic flow find and follow someone that looks local 😀. Always wear a helmet though. Bike hire varies on the location. We try to hire a mid sized bike usually a Honda PCX so that we can fit the both of us on it comfortably. They range in price from 300 baht to 500 baht per day if you want to let us know where you are going to maybe we can put you in touch with some good hire places.
