We have the same issue although my hair is fine and thin and long since going thru menopause. I don’t know what to do with mine either. I just had a sew-in removed, silk press that lasted less than two days. My hair is so dry and tangles in the back. I’ve just been wearing a high ponytail for now.
After it reverted in a silk press two times I just tell them a regular blow and flat iron is all I need… not wasting silk press money when I know it won’t last 😉
I would recommend not to detangle, brush , comb your hair dry. When I am taking down a protective style I always use both a detangling spray or water and very moisturizing conditioner. Not on the scalp on the hair strands. It makes detangling easier and you loose less hair. Honestly I don’t think you lost a lot of hair in your take down, but your twists did look like they were in more than 2 1/2 weeks. Perhaps you maintain your hair in twists very well. But it looked like it could go another 2-3 weeks. You definitely have damage all around but it’s more prevalent in the front as you mentioned. But you have a lot of hair considering. I would honestly say what you’re doing is best if you don’t want to do a big chop and start off fresh. A lot of protective styles with one month breathers in between for your hair and trimming of the damaged parts as you go. It takes longer but you won’t have to go through the awkward phase.
It looks like you have heat damage at the front that is causing excessive breakage. Definitely try to go to a professional for a trim. Giving yourself an uneven trim can cause more problems or be completely useless in my experience. You can definitely transition out the damage. Just deep condition regularly and try to avoid heat 💕
Idk your shedding looks normal to me but you doing the right steps a trim and bonding treatments your curl pattern so pretty
Hello. Maybe think about letting a professional give you an analysis, treat it accordingly and give you a healthy trim/cut. Your hair beautiful.
I agree. Get to the root of the problem, get some guidance and go from there. I have a stylist who I see when needed.
Thank you… will definitely get to the professional
I use olaplex as well !! And sometimes I use bond bar the cheaper olaplex it’s magical
I’ll have to give bond bar a try when I run out of olaplex
I've DEFINITELY learned to ONLY do my hair when I have the Time and Patience to be gentle!!!
True😅 but It was itching so bad I had to cut my errands short and come home to take it out

Definitely needed a professional 😇
You're rough. You're combing/brushing through dry hair. You didn't thoroughly finger detangle after taking the braids off 😢😢😢😢
😓😥 I’m learning lol now I know to stop doing that
You did good with the trim
Thank you 🙏🏽
