Here are the 3 Questions for morning & evening: MORNING:- - What's the most important thing to do Today? - What's one thing you deeply appreciate about your life? - What quality do you want to show to the world today? EVENING :- - What went well today? - What can I do differently tomorrow? - what did I do for someone else today?
I started journaling in jail. There wasn't much else to do, but it definitely helped me change my life especially because I had the time to go back sometimes and see how my thinking was improving as I worked on myself.
That's awesome... such a great testimony to the power of journaling. I used to journal when I was a teen, but I had a super traumatic experience with it. Basically, my father read it and completely invaded my privacy... he got angry over things I wrote and it turned into a huge deal. It scared me off from journaling and I've tried to get back to it throughout the years but just haven't been successful. I will make another attempt this new year because I just remember how helpful it was to get my worries out onto paper.
I start my morning the same way. After making my bed I make coffee (I actually use the pour over method) which forces me to manage my time efficiently and teaches patience. I sip while journaling. It’s my spa ritual and a form of meditation I look forward to. I’m an introvert so it makes me feel like I’m having a conversation without having to deal with anyone else’s energy. 💛
Journaling daily for almost 3 years. I am a different person. I journal thoughts, ideas, questions, answers, and prayers to God. I share everything with the Holy Spirit and I have received healing from past trauma and learned to never again allow someone to victimize me. Happy New Year and God bless everyone searching. ❤🎉💗🎆🥳🙏
Would you share advice on journaling books, podcasts etc that you found useful? Glad it transformed your life ✨🙏✨ Can't wait to implement it into my regimen:))
I started journaling a few months ago after a marriage crisis and it really helped me deal with all my negative thoughts from a betrayal … at first I wrote very negative thoughts but recently I started writing more inspirational thoughts and now these questions will set me on a beautiful path for 2024 … thank you for sharing ❤️👍❤️
He’s right. I don’t know what it is about this guy’s delivery, but I he’s one of the most effective catalysts I’ve found to enact change in myself & live with intention.
You know what I adore about you Rangan? Is how astute you are in relating to others needs - of course you’ve got to put yourself first. But then immediately your on here sharing the benefit of your latest discovery! Thank You ( and tell your wife not to worry, I’m 85 years old) 😅 Bless your heart ♥️
Just love your videos they always inspire me I’m 76 and gone through many challenges in life wish we’d had this in my younger years. But grateful for you now thank you ❤
I’ve journalled since I was 9, I’m 51 now. It’s been a trusted friend and confidente, and useful to measure growth over the years. This year will be intentional with these questions-life changing..thank you Rangan..
Dr Chaterjee I have so much respect for your authenticity and how much truth in every thing that you speak , so much guidance in so many different aspects of life , you should surely celebrate for being you .
I have only listened to this for 30 minutes so far, but what I love about Rangan's podcasts is that they always give simple, practical, effective advice (tools that aren't overwhelming or complicated); advice that WORKS !! Thank you for sharing your precious time with us Dr Chatterjee
I retired early at 42. My life is so not stressful. The most important thing I have to do today? Make dinner for my kid. So happy to leave corporate life. I will say though , if you are NOT the type of person to focus on health when you are busy probably it's not going to happen when you are not busy.
@11thsm hi Dear. I decided yo leave Canada for a country that had a lower cost of living. I rented out my house and lived on the income. I also had accumulated savings over the years. Now it's 6 years since I left Canada and I was able to stay home with my son and live on the beach. I was heavily criticised by friends who thought I was giving up a good career and western lifestyle, but everytime I return to Canada I have no doubt that I made the best choice.
Thank you Dr. Chatterjee for your wonderful intellect, insight and advise. This morning I sit at my desk and contemplate the next year of my life, and by some strange coevality, your video popped up and immediately caught my attention. As I sort out my cluttered and busy brain, I'm determined to focus on the things that matter and the direction I should head, to make my future and legacy clear and with accurate direction. As I open up a fresh journal book, your words will resonate and guide me in my process. Congratulations on your video content achievements and wishing you much success in your endeavors....I will be right behind you and following your every word!
I use my iPad and it's pencil to write all this down. Got literally tens of other paper alternatives better than spending money on one of these. Another alternative is to draw a related picture in your journal as in tandem with a sentence or a few words.👍🏼 It's easy
I would like you to make a video, about something that is not talked about much, when the children leave home, and we parents get depressed and change, without saying about the situation we are in, together.❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻
I started keeping a journal based on these 6 questions just a few days ago, and I can already feel the power of the exercise. In terms of the benefits-to-time ratio, it's a fantastic gift. Thank you for sharing. Thanks for your work in general. I appreciate the topics you choose, and how you engage with your guests. Your reactions make the conversation more enjoyable. I've learned a lot about improving my quality of life and contributing, thanks to you and others on this platform. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Today, if you want, when journaling about the last question of the day, you can note my name 😂.
Thank you so much. So grateful i find you. This is the life i want to live. Intentional. No reactive. Creating happy habits. No regretting my choices. I start journaling right this evening❤ thank you to exist
Thank you, Dr Chatterjee for this mind opening video. I only watched part of it last night and it was after midnight when I ordered a brand new (Leuchtturm A5, dotted!) journal. It has already been delivered today. I saw the rest of the video, so I missed getting your journal, but I know you are encouraging people to write--- even on individual sheets of paper. I was thrilled and motivated to designate one special book for the 3 Question journal. I love the idea of associating the 3Q habit with an already well-established routine like breakfast. Simply brilliant. I am giving myself a Plan B if I am unable to do it on a morning: I will use my phone--- not the keyboard, but the voice recorder to still be able to have that 3Q "conversation" with myself! BTW my new journal has a light grey hard cover. A bit unusual color choice: I have ADHD and a very busy mind. I love color, design.... but I wanted something simple, sleek, not busy. Clarity. I've never been so psyched to write in a journal! Again, thank you.🙏
The most healthy recommendation for our whole being from a seasoned medical doctor .... advice with scientifically proven results that costs nothing to implement, and it's not an Rx, a diet change or exercise program. I'm convinced! I've never been a journaler, but this 3 question journal vlog has inspired me to try to stick with it. I look forward to leveling up my life! Thank you Dr. C!
You are an Amazing life teacher! Love ❤️ your podcast. I love the way you explain things and truly the length of your videos. You aren’t in a hurry to move on. You help us understand the importance of our taking action on what you teach us. Thank you 😊
This is an underrated quality of his videos/podcasts. Despite the deceptively simple advices, he was always able to elaborate the points in enough details without being repetitive while adding more understanding thorugh each word he used. Thank you Dr Chatterje!
I have so many started and stopped journals. The best journal I have in my artwork journal and I just went and pulled it out. There are still pages I can fill and I am going to start here because this is where I can see progress. I started that one in 2013. I'm on a page that has the words can anybody hear me I guess I keep talking to myself no one seems to know my struggle it feels like I'm going insane am I the one who's crazy. This is where I am today still. 2024 I want to change this. Thanks for your wonderful podcast.
Interestingly, with the same set of evening questions, I started Journaling about 2 years ago. I stopped recently, when I went through one of the lowest points in my life.I now recognize that the reason I probably stopped Journaling was because, I simply didn't want to face things. It is an extremely powerful tool. I will restart and now include morning questions and will buy a new diary for the new beginning and to prevent feeling guilty for having stopped for almost 6 months.
I really love that you take your time to explain things well in your videos. You do not rush just to make a short video as the other life coaches do lately. I even am ready to listen to a 3 hr lecture if that video is going to positively impact my life 💯👌🏾... We waste time watching movie series but when it comes to life coaches videos people think its too long...naa..videos like this is a priority.
Brilliant, as always. The Journaling process puts us into the Parasympathetic mode so we are relaxed and open to helping ourselves. Our lives are full of Adrenal [anxiety] stressors. These suggestions are brilliant. I have found that Vagus nerve exercises help, too.
This is an awesome video. I have tried journaling but I found I only wrote about the negative things going on in my life. These questions will help me have a more productive journaling time.
Love you Dr. Chatterjee!! I so enjoy your interviews, your kind, nonjudgmental words, your insight and brilliance. Looking forward to beginning journaling. I should be receiving my linen colored one today. Thank you for all you do. Your work has been life changing for me. I truly appreciate you ❤
At first I'm confused. I don't have anything "important" today. Then I realized it's because I already did it. I packed food for lunch while cooking breakfast. I have set myself up for a healthy, productive day. The rest of it I cannot control and (in the great scheme of my life) probably doesn't matter
I started Journaling (writing) at a young age and I must say it truly does have an important impact in my life. It allows me the ability to hold myself accountable & it allows me to put my emotions on paper. Good, bad or indifferent. Great explanation & reminder Dr. Chatterjee. Thank you 🙏
I do believe in Journaling..it is like my personal psychologist...it helps me reflect on the day ...thank you for confirming the importance of my daily habit.😇
I have been asking myself and others, including my grandchildren. What are three things that went well today? Children should learn this as well as adults. I personally think learning to reflect on the successes on the pleasures daily helps keep us out of the spirals that lead to depression or even self shame. Thank you for your great ideas.
Been journaling since 1982, not every day, but regularly. Together with meditation and walking, journaling is a key spiritual and mental health practice.
Love all your videos Dr. Rangan Chatterjee think you are a wonderful caring human being can see you come from good stock. Love when a Doctor treats us as though we are a family member ❤ I love common sense approach to living healthy life you promote advise thank you as "prevention" is certainly better than cure". Merry Xmas to you & your family & best Happy New Year to us all.
Thank you Dr. Rangan for your insights on how to improve ones life. Who would ever think that a simple task of journaling would be so impactful and meaningful to having a greater quality of life
Thank you for sharing your fantastic journal with the world Dr Chatterjee. Indeed, it is simple yet hugely transformation & therapeutic. And you give to people FREE!!! I am whole-heartedly grateful for your work & generosity 🙏 Your work has enhanced my work with my patients and my own life. Thank you!
I like the idea of going beyond just using the word gratitude and looking at it as something you deeply appreciate - to me, these words land differently than the word gratitude. I agree with the need to keep these habits simple - lean & clean! Thank you for sharing the 3x2 questions.
Dear Dr Rangan, I found your examples quite vexing. You are addressing young, fit, working, buzy people. People like yourself. I don't have work, much relations, no money for coffee in a cafeteria. There's not much positive about my life right now. Do I get other people into my life if I do some journaling, here alone? Does it heal my cancer? Does it make my home a little bit warmer? Do I appreciate more my old, stained clothing? My most important thing to do is dying rather sooner than later.
Jesus said, "In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer - I have overcome the world." The answer to everything - is knowing your Maker. I am 76 and have osteo-arthritis all over my body. I am in constant pain and cannot get out very often - but I can still praise God for the sunshine that is now pouring through my window. If you give your life to Jesus Christ - you will be 'born again' and have the assurance of a life in heaven with Him - where there will be no more pain and heartache. You will then look forward to dying .... but not in the way you have sadly mentioned. Call out to Him, my dear friend, and be 'born again'. Then you will know His peace and joy, that is beyond our understanding. I will pray for you.... Sue
You have already established a goal of new friendships. You also seem to have good communication skills. Sorry you are in a difficult place and, no, journaling will not solve everything but this podcast has already made you crystallise a goal and a skill to be grateful for. Good luck going forward …
Thank you for this igniting video. Great way to start my life now, tonight. "Now" is important to me and it requires constant change. Thank you for this powerful tool. 😊
The 3 most important things in life are health, money and courage. Just base your questions and decisions every day around these 3 things. Have the courage/guts to do the things that will bring you money and health every day. The rest of the stuff are just busy things that should be ignored.
Thank you Dr. Rangan! I discovered your channel this past year through my own holistic doctor and can honestly say that much of what you are teaching has been life-changing for me. I'm looking forward to listening to more of your wisdom. Wishing you a healthy and prosperous New Year!
PS One thing people never admit, because it's such a big taboo, is that they regret having. I honestly think the regret would be in similar measure either way.
I get stuck in my head journaling! Instead of writing I dance spontaneously to music or I spend 15 minutes on the Option Process which really clears the fog out of my head. Come to think of it, the Option Process for me is the faster and more powerful way of shifting my emotional setting!
I think people also regret continuing relationships with people that don’t nurture us and only take or drain from us. Instead of pursuing new relationships.
A Lot to think about here, as usual from your videos. I have no trouble putting things in writing but have never written in a journal. I feel I need to experiment with the idea and your questions.
I started pen and paper journalling in 1993, and started type Journalling in 2021 on Livejoural. I now audio journal and type jounal stll every day ans Art journal and write lyrics as a form of jounaling.
Greetings from Poland ! 😊 GOOD LUCK !
For me, regular journalling is now an early warning sign that something in my life is bothering me. It helped me recognise very quickly, that I was entering a relationship with a sly and manipulative psycho who had set about destroying my confidence before, presumably, destroying my life. Journalism helped me to cling to my is perception of reality in the face of his gaslighting. It enabled me to find the strength to bin him. Double quick. Good riddance. The pen is mightier than the sword.
Here are the 3 Questions for morning & evening:
MORNING:-
- What's the most important thing to do Today?
- What's one thing you deeply appreciate about your life?
- What quality do you want to show to the world today?
EVENING :-
- What went well today?
- What can I do differently tomorrow?
- what did I do for someone else today?
Thank you.
This is great. Thank you.

I retired early at 42. My life is so not stressful. The most important thing I have to do today? Make dinner for my kid. So happy to leave corporate life.
I will say though , if you are NOT the type of person to focus on health when you are busy probably it's not going to happen when you are not busy.
I too lead a pretty stress free life.
Any tips to share on how you retired at 42?
Thank you for your love and caring for humanity, you are very special person ❤
@11thsm hi Dear. I decided yo leave Canada for a country that had a lower cost of living. I rented out my house and lived on the income. I also had accumulated savings over the years. Now it's 6 years since I left Canada and I was able to stay home with my son and live on the beach. I was heavily criticised by friends who thought I was giving up a good career and western lifestyle, but everytime I return to Canada I have no doubt that I made the best choice.
Which country do you live now?
Retirement is a secular concept from the Germans after WW1. It's not healthy and no culture has sustained itself due to retirement.
A great fan of you doctor for enriching our lives on a daily basis. Thank you for this amazing podcast.
Really one of the best speaker I’ve heard dr Rangan
dr. c. have followed you since the beginning. wish we could clone you , but at least you are reaching out to influence others. bless you.
Rangan is a kind and clever man, and a brilliant doctor.
Wow! This podcast held my attention. This is incredible..May you live long Dr Rangan. Thanks for sharing
I use my iPad and it's pencil to write all this down. Got literally tens of other paper alternatives better than spending money on one of these. Another alternative is to draw a related picture in your journal as in tandem with a sentence or a few words.👍🏼 It's easy
I would like you to make a video, about something that is not talked about much, when the children leave home, and we parents get depressed and change, without saying about the situation we are in, together.❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻
most important thing for every day is only 1word....love
I started keeping a journal based on these 6 questions just a few days ago, and I can already feel the power of the exercise. In terms of the benefits-to-time ratio, it's a fantastic gift. Thank you for sharing. Thanks for your work in general. I appreciate the topics you choose, and how you engage with your guests. Your reactions make the conversation more enjoyable.
I've learned a lot about improving my quality of life and contributing, thanks to you and others on this platform. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Today, if you want, when journaling about the last question of the day, you can note my name 😂.
This is the best podcast I watched in 2023 on 12-31-23. 123 moving forward in 2024 journaling and to continue to listen to Doc.
Thank you so much. So grateful i find you. This is the life i want to live. Intentional. No reactive. Creating happy habits. No regretting my choices. I start journaling right this evening❤ thank you to exist
Knowledge is power. I'm a new listener. After listening to you I'm feeling very inspired and impowered. Thankyou for what you do!!!
Thank you Millions…..
You have changed My Life.
I pray to be a better person on the Planet.
The Journaling process puts us into the Parasympathetic mode so we are relaxed and open to helping ourselves.
Our lives are full of Adrenal [anxiety] stressors.
These suggestions are brilliant.
I have found that Vagus nerve exercises help, too.
Yes, vagus nerve exercises are excellent
You're just awesome. I haven't journalled in a while but this podcast made me want to take up the sport once again.
The best video as we close 2023. I am starting 2024 with a journal. Purpose
This is an awesome video. I have tried journaling but I found I only wrote about the negative things going on in my life. These questions will help me have a more productive journaling time.

Rangan you are wonderful. You've really helped me today, on a day where I felt hopeless. Thanks so much.
PS One thing people never admit, because it's such a big taboo, is that they regret having. I honestly think the regret would be in similar measure either way.
I needed to hear this ! Thank you .
My pleasure. Glad you found the video useful!
Your best episode so far… huge thanks. 👍
Love this , I’ve started writing again , it’s so needed right now to move my life forward x 😊
So Heart Felt Thank You For your Time Sir!!!
Thank you DR! I’ve just ordered your journal and received it, pure quality of good work I can’t wait to use it thank for your great work !
Thank you for the journaling ideas ! Lovely thing to concentrate tomorrow morning.😊
Ego, is the challenge to get rid of it… even Tom’s concern about how to frame his ‘regrets’ is ego. We can manage our lives but cannot control it.
I get stuck in my head journaling! Instead of writing I dance spontaneously to music or I spend 15 minutes on the Option Process which really clears the fog out of my head. Come to think of it, the Option Process for me is the faster and more powerful way of shifting my emotional setting!
This is a great video. I have started using the 3 questions and they are really helpful.
I think people also regret continuing relationships with people that don’t nurture us and only take or drain from us. Instead of pursuing new relationships.
Thank you for sharing this amazing information…..you truly are inspiring!
I love your program 😍
So great to hear a Mancunian accent 😊
Oh you mentioned BRONIE WARE! gosh, her book actually changed my mind and my life.

(Notes to myself:
1:58:09 Competitiveness of the child disappeared in the adult
2:01:21 Junk happiness habits dissolved
)
Life changing
Thank you 🙏
Healthcare workers need to watch this video
A Lot to think about here, as usual from your videos. I have no trouble putting things in writing but have never written in a journal. I feel I need to experiment with the idea and your questions.

Hi, please can you list the 3 morning and evening questions. Sorry I didn’t write them down. Many thanks.
Me neither
Here are the 3 Questions for morning & evening:
MORNING:-
- What's the most important thing to do Today?
- What's one thing you deeply appreciate about your life?
- What quality do you want to show to the world today?
EVENING :-
- What went well today?
- What can I do differently tomorrow?
- what did I do for someone else today? Greetings from Poland ! 😊 GOOD LUCK !
For me, regular journalling is now an early warning sign that something in my life is bothering me. It helped me recognise very quickly, that I was entering a relationship with a sly and manipulative psycho who had set about destroying my confidence before, presumably, destroying my life. Journalism helped me to cling to my is perception of reality in the face of his gaslighting. It enabled me to find the strength to bin him. Double quick. Good riddance. The pen is mightier than the sword.
God is great all the time! Happy you find yourself again. Cheers! Be happy and be free….cheers!😇
I like your videos about stress & and chronic pain issues...
