Anita Baker!!! I miss artists like this. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Go on, Jack👏😄
Fairytale by Anita Baker is a masterpiece.
Fairytale is my song.
My jam FOREVER!! My favorite Anita song of all times!!

This song is so fire. That rapture album is her best work! We are definitely missing this kind of music. Please react to Anita Baker’s Angel and/or body and soul.

Zero!!!
Fun fact: She filmed this all throughout the city of Detroit, Michigan. Amazing to know this video represented our homeotown.
Yes Jack, welcome to the Anita Standom. Enjoy your stay, it'll be forever lol.
Caught Up in the Rapture
Body and Soul
I'd do Caught Up first, because you're going to need to be well hydrated and well rested for Body and Soul. No exaggeration. Talk about a perfect video to go with a perfect song, vocal and emotive delivery.
Stephanie Mills -- "I've Learned to Respect the Power of Love." Her voice is phenomenal!
Also, Tracy Chapman -- "Give Me a Reason to Stay Here," "Fast Car," "Baby Can I Hold You Tonight?"
Annie Lennox -- "Why"
These are Grown Women Singers!
Please do Stephanie mills.. power of love or home
Jerel Newton or I Feel Good All Over

I love Anita so much! Her discography is full of gems like this one! Keep reacting to her...
Jack, you was gettin' it!!!! 😂👏🏽💯🔥
Anita NEVER disappoints!!! 👑🎤💕
You're exactly right. They don't make music like they used to. Also, AMEN TO WHERE ARE THE OLDER ARTISTS AT?!?! ❤️
Yass!!! I love anita!! Her voice is like warm butter😍💖💖
Anita Baker is an absolute legend!
Please also react to:
1. Feel the need
2. Good love
3. You belong to me
4. Fairytales
5. Body and soul
6. No one in the world
7. You better watch your step
There was an artist by the name of Phyllis Hyman that literally defined grown women music. Her voice was super deep and she sang with such passion, she'd make you feel emotions you didn't know you were capable of feeling. She was stunningly beautiful, too. Her biggest song was a 90's dance song that topped the RnB charts called "don't wanna change the world," but her signature songs were "Old friend," "Living all alone" "Living in confusion" and "I got it bad." She sang my favorite version of the the song "What you won't do for love"
She had some sweet jazzy Anita Baker-like mood songs too like "In a sentimental mood" "Meet me on the moon" "When I give my love (this time)" "Somewhere in my lifetime" and my personal favorites "I'm truly yours" and "I don't wanna lose you." It's really a shame that most people don't know these songs. They're astoundingly good.
If you're just getting to know her I'd start with "Living all alone" or "Living in confusion" those two songs highlight her overall power and artistry the best, but like Anita, you really can't go wrong with Phyllis.
Phyllis Hyman voice is Amazing as well! I can just lay down and play her Beautiful music💖 and be Amazed💖 at her vocal range😍💖💕🥰💯%🎧🎵🎶🎶
Oh yes! My favorites are Screaming at the moon and You know how to love me
Anita is untouchable and incomparable. Thanks for doing her music. Please try “Tribute to Anita Baker - Soul Train Awards”. There’s a bunch of artists on there doing a medley of Anita classics. You’ll love it although ain’t no one sounding as smooth as the original versions.
Yes, please!!!
you mentioned that its Been So Long since you've reacted to Anita Baker. funny 'cause she has a song from this very album called "Been So Long". it is one of the best [jazziest] songs on the album. this song is my favorite from the Rapture album. this song and album was released in 1986.
Mystery is mine
I’m crying! I had an actual dream with this song playing last night wtf. I woke up with it on my mind and then I see this. I need to catch my breath real quick. 🤯
Summer 1986. Such a nice alternative to the typical music on the radio at that time.
The thing with Anita Baker is that if you give her songs to any other artists it wouldn't sound half as good. She has a golden, gifted and special voice.
Anita Baker ...Angel
Another of her big hits.
Yesss!! My request came true! Another great song by Anita "Caught up in the rapture." Please react to that one too. Thanks Jack!👍😍
This song reminds me when I was 15. I love this song. It's beautiful.
Love this guy quite young and feeling it and Anita Baker❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think, while listening to Anita is the only time I've seen him hug himself
Thanks to this song, I was the only 1st grader in my class that knew there were 365 days in a year. That's right, she caught me in the 1st grade! Thanks for the video.
I Remember being a kid waiting for this video to come on in the morning. Brings back memories thanx first song I fell in love with by her
You got me over here with the snap and the two-step listening to Anita. Just classic 👌. Body and Soul is another one that good. Thank you for this reaction
I'm a music fan of all eras, and I can tell you there will never be another Anita Baker. Your critiques were right on the money as far as how her voice glides over the music and plus, the live bass player killing it. I subscribed...
One of my favorites from Anita, love her! ❤️
Anita Baker - More Than You Know. Classic quiet storm banger!
Anita is the best! Singer, writer, producer, always unique and know it’s her

Anita Baker "You Bring Me Joy". That's my fav by her. Sooo good.
One of my favorite artists of all time Anita Baker Queen of ❤️
Oh man, you have caused tears in my eyes. I have been a #1 Anita Fan since 1986, Your reactions and critique of her voice, her body movements, the chorus, the depth of her voice, her head voice and falsetto, are the same things I have heard and experienced for so long, but could never have said so eloquently, or with the knowledge of music you have. Thank you. 2 songs, "Sweet Love" and "Same ole Love" are from her "Rapture" album, 1986. "Giving You The Best That I've Got" is from her 3rd album of the same name, 1988. Her 1st album was, "Songstress" (1984?). The "Rapture" album is what shot her to stardom, followed by her "Rapture" tour, which I so happily went to. In that concert, she stood at the mic and sang, nothing more than her band and her backup singers. 8 Grammy Awards in total. And you are so correct in saying no one can sing like Anita. In fact, she turned down a song to record that led to Toni Braxton fame. You must, please, do a video of her song "Body and Soul", 1994, and comment on her note at the 3:05 mark! Thank you again, and I followed.
6:10 me and Jack started snapping at the same time 😊😊
Basically all her songs are great can't go wrong with any of them
Anita Baker is a Classy & Beautiful Woman I honestly Admire🥰 (Skating backwards like a BOSS🤗)

So refreshing to see such a young bro like yourself appreciating MY generation of music and being so knowledgeable about it.. salute to u bro, I’m already a subscriber
I was a little girl when this came out. I love her and this song so much. Yes, It is an 80s song. Things were much more simple back then, sigh.😪
Y’all think he’s ready for that Anita baker tribute that featured rachelle Ferrell? 😎😎😎
Anita's love song to her home city of Detroit.
There is a RICHNESS that can't be denied in old school music!!! That's why I love it!!! I really like your point of view, very insightful!!! "No One In The World" will hit your soul - if you try it, I'm sure you'll like it!!!💕
Completely agree on loving this more upbeat faster tempo from Anita. Extremely talented lady!
Anita Baker has a soulful sweet voice!
You are SO correct, Jack! There is NO ONE like Anita Baker! I have all of her CD's (yes, I'm old... 53) and her voice is unmatched to this day! Today it seems that too many "singers" are "manufactured" by recording companies who manipulate their voices using today's technology. It's more about appearance, theatrics, etc. Anita didn't dance (other than the occasional move to her own music), but there was none of the heavily choreographed moves in her videos or rare live performances.... It was ANITA and her VOICE!
Now, let me say this.... I absolutely LOVE Janet Jackson - voice and her heavily choreographed productions! Janet is about six months older than me, so we sort of grew up together in the 80's when she exploded onto the pop music scene. I have been fortunate enough to see her five times live in concert and planned to see her on July 5th in Raleigh, NC before the concert was canceled due to COVID. If it's rescheduled, I'm there, floor seat, center section!
So, I didn't want to appear to be one-sided in this post. If you looked at my music collection, you would think that 20 people had thrown their favorites into a box. There is no way to classify my musical taste... I just know that when I hear it, I either like it or dislike it. Heck, there's a few heavy metal songs from the 80s that I still enjoy! LOL
Keep those reactions coming!
One thing about Anita Baker's music it always feels like home. I can really relate to this video because she can really roller skate and I roller skate and this is one of my favorite songs to skate to.
Great insight Jack! Anita Baker is the ish!!! I was an 80s baby riding in the car with my parents listening to all these great songs. If you haven't already, please react to Babyface and Pebbles, 'Love Makes Things Happen' and also The Gap Band, 'Yearning For Your Love'. Two smooth songs.
YOU👏🏿BRING👏🏿ME👏🏿JOY👏🏿 by ANITA👏🏿FREAKING👏🏿BAKER🙏🏾is forever a jam, you should definitely react to that next
WOW! Did someone from Gen Z say we need more mature artists in music today? Never thought I'd hear that perspective. Wise beyond your years my dear.
Her voice puts you in a trance, So soothing....When I was a teenager I used to go to sleep listening to her, Used to relax my soul 💯
Hi Jack...it's nice to see someone else appreciating this FABULOUS LADY!!! I have adored her since mid 80's and I think I've bought every album she's released!! I JUST LOVE HER!!! She literally sings to my SOUL!! I'm from the UK and would LOVE to see her live...she's Incredible!!! I don't think I have a fave song from her...I love them all! Xx
This is my absolute favorite Anita Baker song and I love watching it get to you.😊
If u want to be blown away by Anita!s vocal’s, you gotta react to You bring me joy. If you really want to hear her jazz sound, Been so long. Both are fantastic
My all time favorite Anita Baker song. Thanks for reacting to this song
I stumbled onto your channel and I want to give you props youngblood! I'm 48, I grew up on this stuff I the 80's and early 90's and I'm glad to see someone as young as you appreciating good music from back in the day. BTW Anita Baker is my all time fav. Her deep, sultry, soulful voice is timeless. You should do Luther Vandross, especially his early stuff. Keep it up and I subscribed because of your very eloquent and detailed break downs. 👍
As soon as I hear her voice ... it almost makes me cry
JACK! Do yourself a favor and listen to this with headphones on. THAT BASELINE SLAPS!!!!
Anita Baker is GREAT, do more of her songs. Do Stephanie Mills - any song, Donny Hathaway - A Song for You.
Stephanie mills
No more tears is a must for Anita
I can't explain how much I adore this song and video.
I am subscribed to numerous reaction channels, some of them better than others. But since I've discovered your channel a couple days ago I am completely hooked. I grew up listening to most of the music you react to and it's so refreshing to see someone of your generation truly appreciate great music. Keep up the great reviews, forever a fan! :)

My mama played her all the time when we were little. Love Anita!
Anita is also a very underrated song writer and producer in her own right.
Tooooo good. My FAVVOORRIITTEEEEE Anita song
I found you specifically because I was looking for someone reacting to Anita Baker. Reactors are absolutely sleeping on her!! She’s unreal good. “Been So Long” sent me into orbit when I first heard it - I swear I entered another astral plane of existence. Please react to it!!
REALLY happy out of everyone you’ve listened to so far that you love Anita Baker cuz I grew up listening to her to with my mom, and I completely agree that there is definitely no one else with her voice and it has always been my favorite out of EVERYONE’S. I also ❤️ that you love this song cuz it’s always been mine of hers.
Also, you’re COMPLETELY agree and glad you recognize and appreciate the older/GROWN singers and that you see the difference in the music and appreciate it.
Also, I love that you love Sade and you need to review more of her and Anita Baker.
You gotta do Anita’s “You Bring Me Joy” because whew! Also, any Anita because she’s amazing.
I love this song so so much 🥺 idk why but it reminds me of my mom cleaning the house on a Sunday band playing all the old jams ♥️ This song just has my heart
Grown folks sangin’!!! Preach Jack. So true.
This really takes me back to a fun time. You've done a few of my favorite Anita Baker songs but still not my #1..."Caught Up In the Rapture." Not the official video though. That version doesn't compare to the album version.
