I know the video is 4 years old but if my answer can help somebody in 2023 better. ATMs will dispense local currency with a fee and lower exchange rate, they screw you from both ends. But is better than having a bunch of cash in your pockets... SIM cards can be purchased anywhere even street vendor will sell you one. The question about how much money you need is very broad. It all depends what you plan to do..women? Clubs? Restaurants? Site seeing? Where you stay? Too broad of a question..

Iv heard some hotels claim that they are guest friendly but the guest has to be there at check or it will be an extra charge at nighttime. Do you have any specific hotel reccomendations?
