They are definitely well detailed for the time of manufacture. But the primitive sound setup is quite impressive. I don't go in for sound effects very much, but this setup was well thought out. Thanks for the comment. Steven.
I have had that loco for at least 10 years and didn't know it was in the tender. I'm surprised Hornby didn't use a similar idea rather than chuff chuff.
Makes you wonder hey Carl. They created the Zero One setup, which I suppose was a big investment around this time. It probably cost them a fair chunk of change to develop it. From the looks of the circuit Mainline used, it would be pretty easy to replicate these days. Steven.
I have one of those too. It's a rebuild patriot class. Old but awesome.

Well, that's something I've never seen or heard before. Quite impressive.

Hi Steven, this was a fairly simple sound system that worked well, the chuffing sounds are timed nicely with the Locos speeds. Cheers, Paul.👍👍
Hi Paul, I was surprised it still worked to be honest. Not that sound effects is my fortè, it might encourage curiosity from my grandson. Steven.
Beautiful scenes from your layout. Greetings Joe 😊
Thanks for looking in on the channel Joe. I appreciate it and your kind comment. Steven.
Very good 👍 👏 👌
A good idea at the time. Steven.
Hi Steven, that's a new one on me. And really effective, why did,nt hornby cop on to something similar? All the best butty. Carl.

Similar to the Marx Sound-O-power.
That's probably who Mainline copied off.
