  • Fool (If You Think It's Over)" was written by Chris Rea for his young sister who just experienced her first heartbreak. I made this video for myself, after years of happy marriage, I lost my husband, a Vietnam Veteran to terminal illness caused by exposure to Agent Orange. " all dress in black, he won't be coming back. The loss is equally heartbreaking like that when you were 17, you start again " first wound of pride" is when I go about my life as if nothing was lost, nothing taken away...". After all these years, I still choke, yes cry, sometimes when life gets overbearing, I yell out "how dare you leave me!". Fool if you think life is over after you lose someone who you thought would be there forever... and yes life begins again and one day I will meet someone who will "buy me fresh good wine and have a real good time."....The last gift I got from my husband was a Nikon dslr camera for valentines. so I ventured into photography..

I was on the first date in 1978 with the girl that became the love of my life... we were riding in an Olds Cutlass and this song was on the radio...I'll never forget how beautiful she looked with her hair blowing in the warm summer wind as we rode along. We were so in love. We eventually broke up. True love and memories live forever.

Such a beautiful song that pulls at my heart strings, and as I listened my heartache returnes. After 30 years, I still wear black, at least my heart does. No matter how many loves after, no one will ever take the place of my first love. And as I watched our son grow, in many ways it was watching you grow up beside me all over again from the tender ages of 14 and 15. Our son, identical to you in so many ways, has grown up into the man you used to be. Your face, your hair, your laugh, and in many ways even your gentle demeanor. I'll always have a piece of you, and hopefully someday soon, I'll see you again in ours grandbabies too.

This song reminds me of my teenage years.. and I was in love with someone I was obsessed with him and even when I was married I always loved him deeply. I couldn’t stop thinking about him.he never knew how much I loved him I never told him I was in love with him but he knew I was he ended up marrying my friend. I saw him years ago and I still felt the love I had for him. When you truly loved someone it’s never over. This is 2024 and I loved him since 1963.

Ohara Davis I’m 59, graduated in ‘77, fell head over heels for a 28-year-old gorgeous married seductress who wanted a baby... a year later, I felt I couldn’t trust my now-divorced love due to rumors I’d heard when she asked if I wanted her to move to Florida, where I was stationed in the Air Force and got back to visit her as often as I could. I ended up asking my former girlfriend back whom I had asked out in high school, and we’ve been married 38 1/2 years. And I’m still a fool for thinking it was over……

I gather it was her first love she gave her all to him and then had her heart broken in painful disappointment. Fool if you think its over could easily mean you will never forget your first heartache and/or its foolish to think the heartbreak is over whereas hoping none others will ever follow. I never forgot my first love , a young USAF Airman, and giving all at almost 20 years old. No one else could ever reside in this longing heart for 50 years and then he became mine. Only lasted 4 years before Alzheimers took him. Heartache once more. Fool to think its over. As long as the heart can love, it can break. ❤️‍🩹

This is the kind of production the great George Martin who just died a couple of days ago did throughout his 90 years! When he released the "Still Got So Far to Go" album he re-recorded the song and it is a faster and imho a much more syncopated version. It took me a while to get used to this new arrangement. Since Chris bout with cancer he has changed a lot of his songs. I just wish he would come to the states for a tour. I love his blues stuff too. I can dream can't I!

scotty krass I'm sorry. I lost mine in August 1987, I feel your pain. It's cruel how you love them from your soul and then they're over you and move on. I did see him last year. He didn't understand he thought I feel in love with him again. He apologized if he sent the wrong signals to me. I should have kept the memory. They way he looks at me now it's like he's afraid of me now. More sadness.

This is just one of those songs that always reminds you of the early summertime. And although I wasn't even born near the 70's, it still brings me back to that time, in a way. Pure magic.

Such good times and memories back in the 70's. The music was fantastic then.

Yesterday I got this really great melody in my head but I didn’t know the words at first. I slowly arrived at the chorus “ Fool, If You Think It’s Over “ - so I typed those words in my browser and up popped this forgotten gem of a Song. I’ve been playing it constantly since yesterday because it is an Exceptional Song and I have been looking for New Karaoke Songs - This one more than fills the requirements - Thank you Chris Rhea.
