I have a store selling monte carlo near me. But it's so high...like 10cm. How do I use it to start a new carpet in my lido120. There are 4 corydora's in my aquarium....
Good morning. Always glad to see your smiling face..Wow,look at the growth. I cannot wait to try the drystart method.. the results are amazing! The trimming reminded me of the hands of a skilled surgeon😂 the detail of the rocks when you got it trimmed up and the depth you have achieved is awesome. I've been wondering what you did with that little filter... Looks like you found the perfect spot! I'm so excited about George's book too. Looks like I need to get my order in!! As always, I always enjoy your videos!! Thank you for sharing and I'm hope you have an amazing day!!🐟🌿🌱
When you said "Great to see all your smiling faces", the first thought was that's what Peter McKinnon says! Haha. Love your videos Jurijs. Subscribed a few weeks ago. Been thinking of aquascaping a tank in the future. These videos have been very helpful.
Thank you Jurijs I’ve been waiting for the update! So cool and inspiring 👍 question: what’s the little filter called? And how is your experience with it?
Just trimmed my MC carpet today.Took forever because of how I scaped the tanked. I used the lazy DSM I agree easy and works.i have had a little melt after filling though, maybe an ammonia spike?
Hi Jurijs, want to say thanks for introducing the LDSM. I first discovered it thru you. It has worked wonderfully for me, also with monte carlo! The tank I did it in, is a circular nano tank, with no filter, no CO2 but with ferts dosing. I have a question regarding what's the correct way to do after filling up with water. I noticed my monte carlo slowly started to melt away (leaves with holes at first) after filling. Also, I didn't trim the mc at all after filling. So I assume it was because of lack of CO2 but I thought it would grow back, but slower. Unfortunately they all melted away. In this vid, I saw you trimmed the mc before & after filling with water, So I'm wondering, is it because I didn't trim mine after filling? Thanks man and keep up the good work. Learned a lot from your tips and vids!
Jurijs I need some good advice 😊 Where is it best to place the co2 drop check? And how far down in the aquarium should it be placed? Thanks and Cheers! ❤️
After I've seen this beautiful setup, I wanted to change the foreground in my nano tank. I got some HC Cuba, but since I have livestock in the tank, I couldn't do it with the dry start method, so I just divided into small pieces and planted in the Amazonia. The problem is that I have a Malaysian trumpet snail and every morning I have some HC Cuba out of the substrate :\ Do you have any tip how to deal with this?
Thanks for the followup on this ecosystem. The time lapse and follow-up footage definitely helps one understand the technique you have developed for maintaining an aquascape. Question: What happens to the springtails in the filled aquarium? Thanks again for all your insights, Jim
ive been waiting for this video! love it so much.. i actually started the monte carlo LDSM as per your previous videos.. but for some reason 2 months after the dry start i still have monte carlo melting.. and i cant figure out why.. same ONF light but at 25% , mist twice a day.. one thing i did was overload the dry start method with a lot of monte carlo that were covering each other.. could that be the reason? maybe some of the monte carlo roots couldnt get down into the soil because there was no space?
I would love to see a video on the ro water. I don't use ro water and I have only joined the hobby about two months ago. I think it would be cool to know why and how you use it.
You mentioned you can fill up tanks very fast with RO water because of your RO system without a container. But what about temperature? I guess the temperature of the RO water is equal to the temperature of your tap water and that is usually lower than your tank water.
Yes, its finally been filled and looks so nice. I would like to see it running with the wee filter and co2 all connected up! Thanks for letting us know about Georges book, got my per-order in and can't wait! How will the MC do with the tank now flooded, will there be any initial melting or should it be good to go? Thanks for the vid!
@@JurijsJutjajevs I am sorry, Jurjis. I was busy with work. To tell you the truth, I am a terrible fish keeper. I learned bad habits from my dad and I am repeating them. I cannot even keep Cherry Shrimp alive! So I am hoping for a step-by-step guide on how to set you a Neocardinia Shrimp tank. I want to start easy before moving to a harder aquarium. So I will ask you these questions for a small 3 gal nano aquarium: 1. Which substrate do you use? Is there a reason for that? 2. GH? TDS? Are they associated with the substrate? 3. People tell me I have to use RO water and then remineralize it. But with what? What are the ingredients? How do you judge it is enough? 4. How often do you change the water? Is it 30% like I have read? 5. What about the filter? Airstone, are more bubbles better? 6. And the water you use after the maintenance, do you use the same recipe to remineralize? 7. How often do you check for the "water parameter?" 8. My wife would love to have plants in the aquarium, but it is possible to do without the CO2 injection? Are the liquid CO2 I see good enough? These questions are probably confusing for a pro like you. But it illustrates my confusion. Because I am trying to learn how to do fishkeeping right, all the while, trying to erase bad behavior. I hope you can help me with the advice that you can give. Thank you in advance to help me resolve my confusion!

Its really fantastic work and please please do a video about RO System how you remineralize it will very help full for beginner 😄
Great video Jurijs! Haven't heard about "lazy dry start" before :) sounds as quite a good idea with Monte Carlo. I have to try that in future :)
It’s almost like cheating
Jurijs Jutjajevs Haha work clever, not harder they say 😅 Great content mate! Really enjoy your videos!
George F. and you are the best UA-cam aquascaper. 👌 love your content
What do you use to connect all your ada products to your power grid? Japan's stuff is 100 volt.

What about co2 in this tank
Yes I would like to see a the RO and mineral addition.
Have you played already with sand granularity to improve perspective effect especially with such little tank..? ;-)
it will be very nice to learn more
Hi Jurijs!! what is the supported weight of the cube bottom glass? I'm planning to get one but scares me the weight of rocks ans soil. thanks
I don’t know any limitations. Whatever fits inside the glass, should be ok
Its going to melt in the first place as the MC adapts to the new condition that is water. Then it should be alright after sometime
My Mc never melts when adopting to submersed conditions
@@JurijsJutjajevs then its great

What happened to Marsillea hirsuta that you planted in the foreground? It didn't make it?
It’s there, but didn’t grow too well

Yes RO video!
what do you do with the springtails after you fill your tank?
The spring all round the place and probably live in potted plants 🪴..
Beautiful work....this nano tank is one of best ....u r awesome .. trimming is awesome. Tank looks fantastic
Hi Jurijs, may I grab the link or the make and model of the mini filter featured in this video? I'm also looking for the same thing! Thank you!

What filter is it on minute 16:52?
