  • Testing the Delta Max to see if it can comfortably power a 3kW UK kettle using Xboost technology.

Kettles in the UK are an essential part of everyday life. We don't have small kettles as often found in mainland Europe or the feeble 120V US equivalents. Our kettles have a 3kW power rating, boil quickly and make a cup of tea in record time.
In this video, I wanted to find out if this can be done from a bunch of 18650 batteries and a nice Ecoflow inverter.

My lav mics weren't working when I recorded this so some of the audio is not as expected. 🤨

    Hi,
Like the video's on deltamax storage, this might be the answer to my situation.
Few questions i have now, on the app can you setup a recharge period to occur during off peak tariff times instead of using a mains plug switch?
Can you vary the charge wattage/current when mains charging?
    Cheers

The British need to subsidize these so they don't brown out the grid everyday at noon.

My Delta Max is powering the house, including kettle, coffee maker, washing machine, dishwasher, iron (in succession, of course, i.e. one at a time), as well as wi-fi/lights, laptop etc., and on the sunny day it takes me until at least 9 pm, sometimes even longer, at this time of the year, on solar alone. I charge it over the night and switch to solar in the morning again. It does not handle oven well though, gets overloaded at over 2,400 W even with X-Boost on. It looks like X-Boost works only in theory, not in real life.

Do you have a better rate at night time on the electricity? If so, that makes a lot of sense!

@@tdcattech Yes, I do, so everything that needs to be charged like my electric car and instruments are charged at night. Even without the low night rate, Delta Max with solar makes sense for me because my house consumption during the summer is about 5 kW-h (a/c mostly) during 12 hours powered by Delta Max, of which only 2 kW-h I need to consume from the grid to charge it back to 100%. This of course does not apply to all the pumps and ovens outside the house, for which I would need to build a large 3-phase solar plant, which that does not make much sense in our altitudes although some people do that anyway.

@Ulianb how is your Delta Max doing now? I'm looking at buying one, but keep seeing so many negative experiences about product failure after a few months or a year in

@@Mzhou92 Yes, it's still in permanent operation. I've added 2 extra batteries to it - one of them for Delta 2 Max, it's compatible - and it carries me through the sunny day alright. Of course, during summer, I need to use air conditioner so still need to recharge it from the grid during the night, but on cool sunny days it carries me through the night as well. Since I live in Ukraine with little electricity available, I need to expand so I'm thinking about changing to Delta Pro and adding more solar panels but so far I can carry on with what I have, although will add 2 more solar panels once suppliers fill up the current deficit.

Would you recommend pizza to be cooked with this ?

Sure. Why not. What's the power rating of the oven?
