Thanks so much, bro! I've just started Guile as a secondary character this week, and your tutorials helped me a lot, i don't usually play with "charge"-like characters, but Guile has tools to make such a good game that i've got interested in playing him.
@brainstem46, you're welcome man, and I appreciate that comment. by the way, since you have already tried Guile in AE, does the nerfs really hurts Guile a lot? which matchup became worse that it was before?
It is very smart to have Guile on your team of characters. He has very versatile match ups in both in and against his favor. Since you don't main him, you don't have to worry about his bad ones. Most people that play SSF4 don't know how to play against him. If a local fighting game scene doesn't have a good Guile player in their area, then even the local tournament players won't know how to play him correctly. If you already have a good understanding of footsies, then he is perfect for you.
Nice video, top notch execution, keep them coming, specially on AE. it seems we Guile players will be struggling again, fortunately not as hard as we did on vanilla.
Got to learn all these shit. I can't relay any of your tutorial to put it into use for myself when you first made it, something too advanced for me to digest. But today I rewatched it, I begin to understand and found something I can actually start using it!!! Thanks!!
yea that is super important now actually. I might make a video that goes into that, but a few of my newer videos already go into the beginnings of guiles counter hit game.
Still taking requests? Your execution is flawless with FK > FADC > U2. Is there anyway you can make a video that shows how you do it so well? There are other videos, but there are always slight variations as some press FA with up back, or down back again... what do you find works the easiest? thanks man
@xBokkiNx Hey that means something when coming from the execution master himself. Before you got really skilled, about how many hours a day did you focus on execution?
@SoulKingForever have you seen my Guile-Akuma match up tutorial....to fireballs spamming where the fireball has 2 or 3 hits you have to be at the correct distance to be able to jump in roundhouse on reaction. For the fireballs that only have one hit, you simply work yourself into backfist range by throwing jab sonic booms and advancing with bazooka knee. After your in that range, throw jab sonic booms while backfisting right after you throw it to punish your opponents recovery.
@dingledorf1 I wanted to be at Northwest Majors so much, but i was at Hawaii when it was going on. The tournament coordinators kept changing the dates so i couldn't plan properly. Gmon was definitely there tho. There must have been quite a few people there if you didn't see him. I didnt know that Hydro was there, thats pretty sweet.
@MoD1ns1d3 Hes great in super so it will seem like he sucks, but i dont think the nerfs will cripple him, its the same character except he doesn't do as much damage and its harder to hit his ultra 2. It just means the rounds will be longer and we have to play smarter. Since the matches will be longer, itle be harder against characters like Gief where if u make 1 mistake u lose; so lots of 5-5 matches. I think he might do well against the twins, i could be wrong, but theres might be some hope!
@brainstem46 LOL I don't even know. When I played ranked in Vanilla I'd spend at least 15 mins before online matches and 15 mins If I lost more than 1 in a 3 matches (so alot back then). Also alot of time exploring random safe jump stuff. Training mode was important. If you can't do your best combos on command you're just handicapping yourself in a match. Does Flashkick FADC ultra still work in AE? As in is it viable to go for still?
@xBokkiNx yea it works, but its even harder to hit and should only be used as a finisher now. You must not have seen it because you would have laughed. The Ultra 2 damage is comical when used in a combo. Guile has 2 mediocre ultras that are about equal in effectiveness. Id say, If your a person who doesn't know how to do it already, your time is better spent on learning other fancy tools in AE
@dudee624 well sure, but i was planning to do bison and akuma first. To make a blanket statement; simply turtle. Match ken fireball for fireball until he comes to you, block and crouch tech, then punish his stupid shit. Geif is actually an easy match, spam sonic boom, you back-fist if he walks and blocks, and you flash kick or reverse sobat if he jumps over them; greenhand can't punish j-SBs. T Hawk is a little tougher, air grab works well even when he Cdives and lots of reverse sobats.
Really? Where were you and Gmon during NorthWestMajors? I was only able to get tips from Hydro(Cool guy btw) ! I only got to see one other Guile player :(
Yo anyone who calls your combos impractical cracks me up. You show by not cutting your vids that consistency is key for those combos and every one of them are punish or capitalization combos. Buff execution.
@dudee624 i think it was fair to say he needed to be nerfed; the one nerf that really sucks is the nerf to ultra 2. I think Capcom went a little too far on that change. Now its unfair in guiles favor instead of being unfair to the other fireball characters. It needed a nerf in either frame data or damage, Capcom nerfed both, so now he has 2 piss poor ultras. I really don't play much differently, it's just not as easy for some1 to learn Guile as quickly and he has less comeback ability.
@tokyodeathgod well it wont be as important in Arcade Edition, however i have an ok tutorial on how to do it in my beginner guile tutorial if you want to check it out.
Hey how do you do the double flash ultra input easier because sometimes i cant get the input right when i need to do it the most. Any tips in that crazy input?
um, are you going to drop the ultra 2 vid or not? I really do check for it every day! Where you been? its seems after evo you kinda fell off. This casual Guile player really looks forward to your vids, i hope your ok. Laters bro
@gilligan1477 that sounds like a good idea, that would be an easy video to make too. Have you seen my beginner Guile tutorial? I show how you do a basic FK>>FADC>>U2 ,not the standing fierce to FK FADC Ultra and the other more advanced combos. If you havent checked it out, then just go to my channel or i have a link in this video. If you have then yea id be willing to upload a video.
@brainstem46 really? thats under beginners? lol i didnt even think to look there but ok... I look at intermediate and advanced... ok great man! thanks i'll take a look. keep up the good work
Seriously, this is a badass video. The standing round kick, fk, FADC ult 2 is sick. How did you do that? I thought you need a back charge? Also, in the mid combo where u upkick, med.p, sb, FADC, stand round kick, fk is also a bitch? Can you help? You're the man.
great video pal, i know sf5 is out n m quite late for sf4 but in sf4 i can do upside down kick + mp + sonic boom but i cannot do upside down kick + mp + flash kick, hv tried a lot but all in vain
It is definitely harder to cancel into a sonic boom because you probably are executing up-back too quickly. You need to be charging down-back half way before the animation of the UDK finishes and canceling the FK on the last possible frame from the cr. strong. It just takes time and practice, so I am sure you will get used to the motion and the timings.
@@calvinfoo Haha, that might be a an 8-2 match up in Guile's favor. Jab sonic boom is huge. Spam SB at nearly all times and cr. HP when he jumps. Crouch HP also covers a buttslam. Once in awhile, there is a time where he can hit you with towards roundhouse before you throw sonic boom. Just know when that can happen and back up a little. There is my tutorial...you are now beating Honda!
@branh0913 oh my god pal, did you even read a sentence of what i said to you. If you watch any of my videos you would know that my channel is for struggling SF players. I want constructive criticism, but it seems you comment so you feel like hot shit. I wasn't bent out of shape before, but now, congrats, I am. So unless you have any more tips or links to quality guile tutorials, please shut your arrogant mouth...btw if you think those combos are impractical u need to work on your game.
@MoD1ns1d3 thanks man...seriously, i got better as a player by watching your videos and watching Yoshiwo's matches in vanilla...thats funny that you would comment on one of my videos seeing how i try to make my videos as similar as i can to yours
yo i live in seattle to i would pay you to have a gaming session with you. no matter what i do i cant consistently get down certain techniques like back dash u2. hit me me up brother.
@MrBranh0913 lol well excuse me good sir...maybe you should put out a few videos then...on a serious note, its good to have as many opinions as possible...all that crap you said tho is what makes up how you play guile as you always would and have I probably explained most of those things in my other tutorials.
I don't understand why you're getting bent out of shape. You post a vid with highly impactical combos and then call it adavced. If you had name it adavced combo tutorial I wouldn't have said anything. Knowing these combos aren't going to help you beat anyone high skilled. Guiles zoning game is worth 3 or 4 vids themselvies. Guile has tons of punishes and baits so highly situational that knowing this stuff is high level Guile play.
Thanks so much, bro! I've just started Guile as a secondary character this week, and your tutorials helped me a lot, i don't usually play with "charge"-like characters, but Guile has tools to make such a good game that i've got interested in playing him.
Duck Tales!!!! Old memories right there bro! LOL!!! I love ur Guile vids. Thanx a bunch!!!
Really nice vid man, Id love some info on the crouch tech trap upside down kick options available.

some nice section like frame trap will help the guile army a lot
i vote for akuma - sim - viper - yun or rufes - blanka match up
You my man are inspiration, keep it up.
Dude your guile vids are great!

What is happening when the ultra misses? Are you going under the character when you do the dash forward or does the ultra come out too late?

@@calvinfoo You can react to them with cr. HP. If you react too late, you can focus attack to absorb the hit and backdash.
