I love Pollyanna, the book & the movie. Pollyanna's accident are not the same in the book & movie. I also have the 2nd book Pollyanna Grows Up, it was good as well. I love your videos ❤😊

I love Pilcher’s settings/descriptions and her characterization is great. Unfortunately, they are a bit morally gray, but not graphic. I’ve only read two, though! 😂

Amy Carmichael’s story was one of my favorites when i read it for homeschool. It was a children’s version I think. I have been wanting to read her story again 👍🏼

I like Hardy’s nature descriptions, but his stories are hard for me. I did generally like Far From the Maddening Crowd.

My daughter read the No Fear Romeo and Juliet this year! And Twelfth Night. Really enjoyed the dual texts for helping her understand the more difficult parts!

Recent additions to my book hoard (sorry, just finished a book with dragons in it): Kingdom of Ruins by D. C. Marino (loved it), Wormwood Abbey (enjoyed and want the rest of the series), Rosemary for Remembrance by Audrey Stallsmith (haven't read yet, but really liked The Body They May Kill by the same author), and A Caffeine Conundrum by Angela Ruth Strong (haven't read, but comes recommended by Chautona).

    Hi Chantel
I don’r keep my cat in a locked room - They need their freedom to go where they want to go. My Cat has a free rein of my whole house including the front porch.
I hope that you enjoy your books.
    Take Care & Happy Reading

I do have the Alissa Childers book and the Elizabeth Elliot book on my TBR. I ordered Benjamin Netanyahu’s book Bibi and I want to start it as soon as I get it. I have read almost all of Thomas Hardy’s books. I think you will like him. Great video!👏🏻I’m reading Sophie’s Heart by Lori Wick. I have ordered some books by Francena Arnold because I recently finished Then Am I Strong and loved it. 😊

I've read books that Amy Carmichael wrote but not the one you have. I want to read Pollyanna especially if it is different than the movie. I loved The Little Princess and also R. PIlcher's books.

Just bought Twice Told Tales and my daughter loved it....looks like we'll be buying the others😄 also, in my library haul was the newest Sara Brunsvold, The Divine Proverb of Streusel, hoping it lives up to Mrs. Kip😬, so far it's good.

    • @ChantelReadsAllDay

That sounds like a great selection! I'm definitely a little scared the Sara's new book won't live up to Mrs. Kip, it would be hard to do.

We've had snow in April! I tried one Rosamund Pilcher, which a number of people with good taste recommended, but DNFed it. I would be willing to try another. There was a certain element that was key in the story that I could feel coming on and I just wasn't in the mood for it. Lots of lovely books, though. Hope you and your kids enjoy them!

Please read That Was Then, This is Now by SE Hinton BEFORE you have your daughter read it. I’ve read it, and it very very different than Outsiders. Pony Boy makes a very brief (less than a paragraph if that) appearance.

That copy of A Little Princess is so cool! I love how they did those illustrations.
Yeah! I made the bee folio. It was so much fun. I knew you had pen pals, so it screamed "you" to me. And the one art card was one my son got in Tokyo and I knew you liked postcards so... yeah.

I can’t remember if I be heard you talk about the Inheritance Games or not… my best friend’s daughter recommended the series to me & even let me borrow her first book. So, that’s what I’m reading now. Plus one I just picked up… Honeybee Hotel… about the rooftop gardens & apiary on the Waldorf Astoria hotel. Lots of NY history so (we’ve been a few times so that’s cool) + hubby is a beekeeper so that was an extra lure for me.

I don't remember That was Then, This is Now. What I do remember is that I chose to read it in 8th grade, among other options and really enjoyed it. When we read The Outsiders in grade 9, as a class, I hated that book.

Ha, I always struggled when we had to read a book in school, if you want me to hate a book, tell me I HAVE to read it.

@@ChantelReadsAllDay I loved reading enough, that reading a book for school was usually not so bad. The only ones I really hated were Mark Twain books (which was blasphemous as I lived only 10 minutes from his hometown) and The Outsiders. There were some other literatures that I hated, but I never classified them as books. I hated the Canterbury Tales and Beowolf, and Shakespear -gasp-.

Yay Thomas Hardy!! I do remember reading Robin Hood as a child. I don't remember too many from that time😅
I've gotten into Wendell Berry but I don't think his stories are everyone's thing. Deea likes his poetry. I've only read Nathan Coulter so far but I bought 3 short story collections from him and plan to buy the rest of his books in the series (that can work as standalones) piecemeal.
