I live in Colorado and the 2018 and above gets dramatically better mileage than at sea level. This is especially true at higher altitudes. I have routinely gotten 50 miles per gallon + with this bike. On two occasions, I have gotten in the 60's. I normally run in Tour mode, but at times I have put it in the sport mode.
Thank you for the Sub! Appreciate your support and love the videos you post. I feel I get more in mountains and less on highway should be the other way around 😀I think I am just hard on throttle.
I average last year on 18,503 miles at 46.7mpg. This was GPS mileage and gas receipts. Highway and backroads combined. I never stop for gas at less than 220 miles
That is very close to what I am getting so far in the last 5 months. Someone wrote on the Facebook that they got 360 miles on full tank. I am not sure how that is possible but with most riders are getting about the same as mine and yours.
Very good video but none of it matters! As a whole, real word expectation cannot be calculated, in a general sense, to any realistic degree. A rider in NY city won't get near the same as a rider anywhere in Kansas! Depending on, of course, which way the wind is blowing. Fuel consumption is a general manufacturer construct based on the best of conditions for marketing purposes. Put gas in it, ride then put more gas in.
I get the same results as you Amer. About 235-per tank riding generally mountainous backroads. I'm fairly heavy on the throttle and ride exclusivity in tour mode. If I ride two up I can expect to be looking for a gas station around the 215 mark. I would imagine riding highway in economy you could probably squeeze 260-270 out of it.
Thank you for sharing your results. I did ride on the highway in economy as well but my results were the same never more than the posted 250 miles. I guess I am a bit harsh on the throttle.
Hi Amer , forgot to add that I use 87 octane. The range isn't really much of a factor, I need a break before the bike needs gas. Getting old i guess . Ride safe Amer.
I generally do a lot of highway riding on economy, but my mileage results are far less than yours. I generally do 190-200 miles on a tank, but I'm usually ready to stop at that point to stretch! Good video Thanks for sharing!
Not boring , im just about to buy a 2023 & live in the country area in Australia & needed to know the reel world distance i can travel on the wing . thanks .
@@AmerSheikh All depends on your riding habits !!! And type of roads you use. I do around 43 MPG using 89 octane on Tour mode, more or less. My bike is new with only 1K on it. So, I think it will get better later on.
Amer, I have 1600 miles on our 2020 DCT Tour. Display shows 45.3 mpg overall. 1500+ of those miles is 2 up riding. Most miles are rwo lane secondary paved roads. 87 octane. All Tour mode. How low do you run the tank before you fill? I generally look for gas when I get to one mark on the gas guage. That is about 190 miles on the tank. After I fill up, it shows I can go 280 miles. Are those all usable miles BEFORE the warning light? Or are they miles till you are out of gas and sitting at the side of the road?
Thanks for sharing! On fill up when it shows you 280 miles in real it means you will get 250 miles in real time. They are not all usable before the light comes on. The warning light comes at about 40 miles left. Since I've seen sometimes the light comes on even when I have 60 miles to go on the tank I dont trust the light and the gas guage much. If I am riding in the city I can fill up anytime so I typically wait for the light to come but when I'm riding far I fill up after 150 miles just to be safe and since in most remote areas gas stations close at 5pm unless im on the highway its better to be safe :)
I have just started using V Power before that I was just using the 87 Octane gas. I don't feel any difference honestly it's just my personal preference.
Hello , I have a 2019 dct with 22000 kms I get 55miles per imperial gallon and even better when I travel in the mountains my son has a vfr 1200 x and gets the same and less and has to use premium
*Are you filling up 87 Octane Gas or 91 Octane Gas...The debate could be endless but would love to know how you feed the thirsty beast?*
I've been using 87 Octane, manufacturers recommendation. But I have run a couple of tanks of 91.
I was using 87 Octane too till I don't know myself what happened and I just decided to use 91 Shell V Storm Octane and made my life difficult 😀
Really appreciate your video buddy
Thank you... I am glad this helped. Ride safe!

Thanks for sharing! I am sure different altitudes make a difference.
Great vid on a timely topic!
Subbed!
I once got 250 miles out of a full tank. Tour mode. In the mountains. 😎👍🏻

MILES, NOT MIKES

Agree 100%. Different riding situations, weather and many other factors can change it all. Ride Safe!

@@AmerSheikh How much do you weight? I get about 190, and put 5.5 gallons in.
@@lblerg I weight around 210lbs. I noticed after my oil change I am getting a significantly better millage now around 250 miles on a full tank.

Interesting. I have noticed the same that the milage goes less if I am on the highway. It could be because we are flying slowly 😉You are welcome!
87 octane, 271 miles on the GPS at 5.1 gallons = 53.1mpg. All backroads in ECON mode, 50'ish MPH.
Thank you for sharing Robert. Ride Safe!
360 mikes on a 5.5 gallon tank = 65.4 MPG = must have been all downhill with a 30 mph tail wind
@@robertlorentz3670 Possibly! I don't think I am even going to attempt to try and achieve that. I want to just be out there and enjoy!

Hi Amer ,
The very best mileage I ever had was around 250 miles on one tank. I always the tour mode
Hi Michael, Thank you for sharing your tank miles. I almost got the same too regardless it was in Economy or Tour mode. Ride Safe!
I do 255 till I have 0.5 left. I am in Tour all the time and 1/2 hwy, 1/2 city. I use 89 octane.
Good to know! I must be accelerating a bit hard to get little less range.

I still don’t understand why Honda installed only a 5.5 gallon tank when the class leader BMW has 7 gallon tanks on most similar models.
Yes, a slightly bigger tank would have helped little bit more.
Unless you fill the tank and run is dry you'll never know how far it'll go.
Yes, planning on doing that next year.
My best is 282 miles from a tank of fuel with my 2018.
That is pretty good. Good to know if I am ever in that situation how far the tank will take me.

Whats the ridding gear - pants 👖 you're wearing? Looks good.
Thank you. They are BMW GS Dry pants extremely comfortable and great protection.
Do you only use V-Power? Does that make the motor 'smother' in any way?
