    I already know how to do all this stuff but I still love a good DIY video, just wanted to add you don't need to completely unscrew the metal side panel (5:30) as it will come right off with the plastic piece it is attached to. You only need to unscrew the forward most screw on that metal trim piece. Great video, cheers!

    Looks like BMW and Honda are on to the same gig, surround all the maintenance stuff in plastic, so they can charge you another 30 minutes labour on your basic servicing. Nicely demonstrated fella, will save a few pennies for people.

    Great video Mark! Thank you. Real quick, My '12 R1200GSA is hitting only on the left cylinder. I was cruising home on the highway and the rt. cylinder just dropped out. Plugs are good and I swapped uppers with lowers and right to left and confirmed they all spark while cranking as held to the frame. I bought two new primary coils and installed them with no change and even swapped in the event I got a bad brand new part. I do have an O2 sensor #1 code (271A) that comes up in Moto Scan so I removed them both, cleaned them and swapped them and the same code returned. I swapped lower coils, though they didn't fit I still got them connected and snapped in with no change. I confirmed both injectors spray fuel in a good pattern while cranking the bike but bought a new one for the right side anyway and installed in to no avail. The throttle body valve does turn with throttle twist as I could feel it with my fingers. The bike will fire up on just the left cylinder but the right cylinder, with spark and fuel does not want to fire! Thanks for reading so far sir, and if you would please let me know what else I could try I would greatly appreciate it sir. TY

    1:57 how is your hand just resting on the header pipe like its nothing with thin gloves on after a proper ride to get it to operating temperature? I have to call bullshit on that small part of the video because I know for sure that the header pipe would still be blazing hot and even touching it accidentally would cause you to flinch from the burn(talking from experience). Other than that small thing, amazing video helped me a lot especially with the plugs.

    • @arnarne
      @arnarne 4 роки тому

      DMac of Queens It doesn't have to be BS. It is good if the engine is warm when you change oil but it doesn't have to be smoking hot. Maybe he let it cool down f. a while and then changed oil? The exhaust pipes get very hot but they also cool down rather quickly.

    I don't understand why you have to warm the oil up before you drain it. I know this is standard practice on cars and bikes but when you think about it, the oil ends up in the sump after a ride. Therefore the oil has always been warm and thinned so all of it would be in the sump. So why bother?
