Strangely, I loved that open interior
First thing that went through my mind when I saw the interior was "2001 A Space Odyssey". It has the sleek Euro SciFi look. I think I'm past the days of sailing one of these - but I love the fact it exists. Thanks for the sharing Toby and I look forward to all of these.
We know what you mean! And thank you
I like how the guy was calling you out down there while you were looking at the crew cabin. 'Hey is Toby Hodges filming up there?'...you have fans
Now this is what I'm talking about!
No doubt it is a stunning thing, but in the back of mind was the review you did of the ORC57. For true cruising and potentially live aboard, I can't see this being an option, ok the ORC57 isn't going to be the most comfy thing in the world to cruise and live aboard, but at least it feels more cruiser like with a decent galley up so you can see where you are and entertaining area aft, that you could entertain on. Then there is the price, this is 2 million euro and the ORC57 as per the review in June 22 is 1.2, granted that most likely has blown out what with supply probs and what not. To call this a cruiser in my mind is a stretch. I have no doubt the people that can afford and want it will have a blast on the thing, but with my lotto win I'd be looking elsewhere. Cheers for the vid.
This is a boat to do the Rolex series of ocean races while also being comfortable
This is a very cool boat I had the opportunity to go inside during the Aegean 600 it was still with the plastic wrapping from the yard place 😂😂
True luxury in my view
Wow, stunning
Toby, the sign clearly said no photos! I wouldn't call it homey but I don't guess anyone's living on this for more than a weekend, right?
Awesome.
Nice socks!
That is a fascinating boat, could do with more water ballast perhaps. If you've sailed with a few tonnes of it to windward, the speed difference is awesome. One of Toby's better tours, clearly he appreciates a decent and interesting boat.
I think if Mcgragor 65 could go back , I think that’s the interior they where looking for
speak up just a little, eh? or adjust the sound EQ??? Toby has one of the best voices and cadences on UA-cam for reviewing ANYTHING...not just beautiful sailboats. But I think I'm not the only one who hast to adjust the volume during these segments vs others if i'm watching from across the room or if there's any background noise. no? otherwise, that's an amazing boat!
She looked like pure evil crossing our bow during the Aegean 600, on port of course.
nice socks 😀
Amazing toy. But not sure about using this for cruising....
I've gotten my McGregor 65 up to 26 knots for a fraction of the price. Will it beat it?
Electrics on the water side of the aft bulkhead?
Is there any advantage to such a bow shape? (Apart from having everyone ask themselves this question?)
It gives longer waterline (therefore more speed) for the same LOA and less weight in the nose. And the chamfer provides better wind flow upwind and more weight savings.
How on earth are you supposed to get from one side to the other on that cockpit when in a blow?
Like they do in the maxis
Slight mistake, mainsail winch is FWD with a jammer, those big ones aft are Jib/Spin
Rocket. Can these people build a foiling bluewater luxo cruiser next?
Salivating.
Cool boat, but still would take a FC53 or Pogo50 as a fast cruiser over that.
Please tell me, is there any reasonable explanation why if the yacht is sports, then the crew should live on it as if they were homeless? The toilet must be closed with a curtain instead of a door. And cook food on a stove. A yacht at the same price as the Hallberg Rassy 57... With all this, the speed is 3 knots faster. Why? ))
The review itself is excellent as always. Thanks Toby )
You answered it yourself: 3 knots faster.
3 knots is a significant difference. But, apert from that, I don't know, could have and advantage on the rating, being "cruiser"-racer?
@@AgneDei adding 100kg for a bit more livability wouldn"t hurt that speed difference in a noticable way, and most likely is enough to make it somewhat reasonable for the crew
“Cruiser” racer is a bit of stretch
Like a Ferrari......
HE IS EVEN TOO LAZY TO SHOW ALL PARTS OF THE BOAT ! MAYBE TURN THE LIGHTS ON MAN !
Completely irrelevant.
Don't mess with Toby, pal.
Agreed. Don't mess with the Hodge
