This was such a delightful video to work on, especially that I haven’t seen Sintra this empty! You could literally take in all of that majesty of the place without being crowded. Thank you all for watching this episode, and hope you enjoyed and got you In The Mood for Sintra! Here’s a few timestamps for places and names: 01:59 - Sintra Marmòris Palace Hotel 04:07 - National Palace of Sintra 04:16 - Sintra, or Suntria, as known in its medieval name 04:24 - Serra da Sintra, The Holy Mountain, or The Mountains of the Moon 04:29 - Cruz Alta 04:37 - Castelo dos Mouros, Castle of the Moors 04:56 - First King of Portugal, King Afonso Henriques 05:25 - Palácio da Pena 05:37 - King Fernando II, or King Ferdinand II of Germany’s House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha 06:12 - Parque da Pena 06:27 - Quinta da Regaleira 06:44 - António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro 07:09 - The Initiation Well 07:30 - Palácio de Monserrate 08:30 - Azenhas do Mar, Colares, Sintra 08:43 - Restaurante Azenhas do Mar
Stunning! Absolutely stunning! Scenarios, music and words! Perfect blend of what Sintra really is: a cultural pot of emotions mixed over centuries. Definitely I will forward this video to my foreign friends whenever Sintra comes about! Thank you for your stunning videos and showing a bit of what we were and are!
Janz, I'm Portuguese, and fortunatly, I had the luck to have Sintra near my house, 15 minutes away. I live in Oeiras. I would like to thank you for this wonderfull video!!... Sintra, is REALLY a special place!!!...
Now this is what I call "well researched." All your videos are so well executed and rigorously researched. The narration is one huge bonus. Thank you, Janz!
Was in Portugal for two glorious weeks in 2015, and spent one day in Sintra near the end of our trip. I wish I had spent a full week in Sintra as there is so much to see and experience. It's difficult to describe to someone except to say that it's like walking through a fairly tale. Thanks for putting this excellent video together, and rekindling my desire to go back to Portugal and spend more time exploring the wonders of this truly magical place.
Thank you for the wonderful message! And really glad this video has rekindled your interest in going back to Sintra again. The most number of days I've stayed in Sintra is 3 days, I would like to go back there and stay for a week. It's also a great place for hiking!
Truly a masterpiece! Everything is perfect, the photography, the attention to detail, the editing, the music... and the respect you have for your subject, absolutely admirable. It shows you made your research and taught me things that I as a Portuguese, didn't know. I can't wait to visit Sintra in my next trip to Portugal next year. Thank you so much, Janz! Subscribing and going to watch your other videos. Greetings from a Portuguese living in London.
Great video. You manage to show my village in an amazing way. I feel very fortunate to have born and grownup there. Many nights passed in the Mouros Castle on the top tower just chilling out bathed by the full moon, jumping the walls to spend the nights exploring Quinta da Regaleira when there was little to do in the village once all the tourist were gone. Thank you for making this video about the magic place that is Sintra.
Such a beautiful place. Thanks to your videos that I'm into Portugal more. A few years ago, I have been to Portugal. I would love to visit again. It one of my dreams.
This video was so well put together my gawd! You should’ve won some sort of an award for this masterpiece, the music, the angles, the cinematic vibes are all phenomenal I can’t wait to see Sintra in person this May
Muito obrigado, Ana. Estou apaixonada por Portugal, e como podem ver nos meus vídeos, há muita poesia neste país. E mais do que feliz em capturá-los e compartilhá-los com o mundo.💕
Beautiful, beautiful video. I love Sintra and you captured it’s it’s magic! Quinta da Regaleira was my favourite place... I am so intrigued by the history... and those passageways! I’d visit over and over. In fact, when I’m living there I will be eagerly waiting for guests just so I can take them to Sintra! Janz, I envy you being able to explore without the tourists. What I wouldn’t do to be able to be in Europe now... but must tie things up, here in Canada, before I head over permanently. Obrigada Janz! Fantastic video!
Thank you, Luis! Always a delight to see your comments. And as you know, I'm only sharing what I know, read and found out about Sintra, and also my perspective and mood for the place.🙏
@@inthemoodforlife_official I only been there once, still many places to check in future returns, the Hotel was quite amazing. It is quite a remarkable job you a many other Vloggers are doing promoting the world we live in the best way, and Portugal have to thank you too.
I absolutely LOVE every single one of your Portugal Videos! It's by far my favorite country! You're so talented and such an inspiration! Thanks for sharing your great work! Sending you lots of greetings from Vienna :-)
Thank you soooo much! I can't help but use epic music, as Sintra exudes so much epicness and romanticism. It's been such a pleasure creating this video, and thank you so much for appreciating it! 💖
I live just next to the national Palace, and i feel so fortunate to live in Sintra! Even taking out the trash becomes this videogame quest, with all of the views! I gotta say, as someone who knows my land, your video captures really well the scenery of Sintra, i think in terms of image its one of the best out there! And if you are like me (who likes quiet places), next time visit Anta de Adrenunes (you wont be disapointed) its a well guarded locals secret! :)
Amazing video about Sintra! I feel like being with you in Sintra whilst watching your video and I am in UK. It’s simply magical! You certainly captured me into the mood for Life! 🎊🎉
Thank you, Filipe! Very grateful for your appreciation! I try my best to harmonise script, visuals, music, to achieve that mood of the place. 😊 I suppose you'd call it my brand style now. 😁
Having been there myself, there was more of it that I didn't see and you captured it and made me want to go back. Thanks and enjoy your videos of Portugal 😁
Honestly this is the most beautiful video to promote such a mystical wonder of the world. The cinematography and your voice, script was perfect! I will be going next week and this video makes me so excited to go out and discover it. I hope everything I will be allowed to roam around during the pandemic. I suppose the experience will be once in a lifetime as it won’t be as packed full of people and can be peacefully enjoyed.
I can't wait for you to see this! I've been wanting to make this video for a long, long time. Ever since I first stepped on Sintra, I wanted to create a travel documentary.
Hi there Janz! Love your videos. I'm Portuguese and very consciouse that Palácio da Pena was build circa 30 years before Bavaria's Neuschwanstein Castle.
Hi! Your fantastic videos are definitely getting me in the mood to travel to Portugal! Which we will do next month. When did you go to Sintra? What month was this? The weather looks amazing but I wonder why there are no crowds. Can we go to Pena, Quinta, Monserrat and Azenhas do Mar in one day trip from Lisbon? Thanks!!
You got me staying at Marmoris for two nights. Do you think that’s good? I wanna take my time there. Can you recommend restaurants besides the last one you went? Was there a restaurant in town worth going? Thanks again. I binged on your vids. But would it be possible to put captions in your videos?
Hello! I want to love your videos but could you please adjust your sound mixing? Your music is so much louder than your voice audio and I missed most of what you said before I turned on the subtitles-but then I’m reading instead of looking at the beautiful footage :/ Also, the volume range is way too wide and when you stop talking and turn up the music I feel the need to lower the volume. Then you talk and I can’t hear anything you’re saying so I turn it up and then my eardrums get blasted I almost didn’t finish the video because it was so frustrating 😬 But I want to keep watching-is this something that could change? (I realize this video is a year old)
