I used to do installs back in the early '90s. Things have come a long way since then. Love your videos. Keep it up. Soon, I plan to put a little system in my 01 Grand Cherokee and break the bank on my 00 Ranger, just to see if I still have it.
Very cool, thank you
Dean and Fernando you guys are the best man I watch you guys everyday every weekend pot Channel all the Facebook stuff you guys got and I don't even have a Facebook man you guys really going to great detail on how you supposed to install or uninstall your stereo system in your car God is dope keep up the good work man
Thank you
The Fiio X3II is hi-res music player that has a coax spdif to run straight into the dsp digitally (and its only around a $100). No extra d/a conversions and can take the Fiio out use it to drive headphones. Keep the factory headunit on a different preset and you can switch between. Ive used the Fiio player in my car feeding a JL Audio Twk-88 through the digial coax with excellent results
H O IR i IZ O N The Fiio players come with the 1/8 trrs to rca style adapter for a digital coax straight into the JL dsp. The TWK is the dac then and will do up to 24/96 (even that is overkill in a car). I haven't touched the headunit in months
Nice video!! I have my 10” sub set at 63 hz at a 36 dB slope on my lpf. And my box plays amazing from 25hz to 60 hz. It’s in a Nissan Cube. That’s the beauty of car audio everyone has a specific sound they enjoy
That's a really cool piece of electronics! How far car audio has come!
That mobile test lab is exactly what I like!I got my old car's audio system set up just like that.On the floor in the back seat.So might say it's ugly,to me,it's beautiful!!!!!!!
I see head units going to the way side in the future. With a dsp like this one your mobile device will become the head unit. I sent my AVH-X491BHS off for repair (do to liquid damage) if it can't be repaired or it isn't cost efficient to do so.. I'm going that route.
The shop that tuned my dm810 were nice enough to email the file to me so I keep it in my computer (memory gets wiped when you do a firmware update)
That is a good idea
Dean, when Fernado finally decides to put an aftermarket stereo in his car, could you please tell us how to hook up the illumination wire so that the car's dimmer control works and the stereo dims when you turn on the lights. Thanks.
When are you gonna do a vid on what you listen for after tuning to flat pink noise?
Good video, Peace guys!👍
So...
Fernando gets to ride and around and listen to different Audio Control stuff?
I’ve been waiting for this!!!!
Insert "That's what she said" joke @ 15:28 😞
I need a Byron in my life 😂
Yup
Hey Dean what mic stand are you using for the audio control mic
Great job thanks
"An inch can make all the difference." :-D :-D TWSS
That is what she said lol
I’m assuming on the head unit you set the EQ to flat correct?
Yes
Hi! I have a dsr1 and using the high level input from my factory amp. When i put the dsr1 in "high input" mode with the switch the input gain setting is gone. When I switch to low level input the input gain setting comes back. My problem is that when choosing the correct setting in my case high level input I need to turn the gains up to almost max on my amplifier to get a reasonable output but it doesn't sound good at all. If I choose low level and still using high level a can choose input gain and get good sound quality. Does it really matter and why is it like this? I need to be able to choose High level AND adjust the input gain.
Hope to hear from you!
one inch can make all the difference -- that is what she said (come on i am not the only one thinking it)
What is the app
Hi guys considering buying DSR1 but review are all across the board seems many are having issues!!!!
I'm in the same boat now, have you got one or did you find out if the issues are true?
Gos i love this channel
i got this dsr1 and im really considering retrurning it i thought i would love it but man their app is kind of annoying to use and it seems like when i make a change on the eq it has a mind of its own sometimes it will sound different instantly and other times it will happen later when im not even touching it so yea im pretty annoyed
Great vid boys! Can you tell me when setting the cross overs on the DSR1 or after market head unit do you set the frequencys on the mono amp all the way high and on a 4ch amp all the way low?
Jason D'Onofrio
I'm not them lol. Yes, set your sub amp xover at 250hz usually, and most 4ch's have xover off switch or if not turn it all the way down usually 50hz.
Cyber Trucker Road Show -Thanks!
Cyber Trucker Road Show , one more question for you , when adjusting your gains Dean has told me that my head unit mvh-300ex distorts at vol 38 and sub vol at 2 would I set my sub vol at 2 or max when setting gains? I use a gain knob that came with my pioneer mono amp gmd-9601.
So let say you have a pair of 3.5 with a cap on it. Should i cross it on the dsp or just feed it with full signal?
A cap is only. 6db slope, the DSP will do a much better job. Set it to 24db Linkwitz Riley
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc Thank you. love your show!
can I use the dsr1 on a Cadillac ats (2014). it has audio mixing at the bose amp. I was thinking to run the dsr1 after the amp from the speaker out wires (only thing I was unsure of is how to have a speaker wire connect to an rca cable)
The sell adapters for those cases
Pretty cool video 👍👍 that dsr1 is a monster only thing it doesn’t do is order you a pizza 😂😂
So whats the difference between the DSR1 and the 360.3 i want to get the 360.3 but it sounds like the DSR1 can do the same at half the cost?
Old tech with a lot of unnecessary stuff, new hotness
The DSR1 takes the most popular, most-used features of the 360.3 and distills them down. Then Rockford/ADS cut the cable from the 360.3 and all audio configuration is done via Bluetooth.
The beauty of this setup is that new features and updates can be rolled out more easily than they could with 360.3.
I would love to see DSR1 firmware updates be able to be applied OTA via cellular or WIFI, but we'll likely need to wait for DSR2.
What do you mean by “Active “??
I like how small those amps are. Wonder how they sound tho
ADR class d full range they are ok nothing compares to a good class a/b amp
Don't drop the camera Dean!😂😂😂
"a inch can make all the difference" "1 inch" :)
this is a nice unit, affordable, small, bluetooth.
Have you ever talked about what happened to your finger? I've always been curious about it.
It was a round over bit in a router doing something stupid.
"Drop the Mic", not the camera... although it has a mic.... hmmmmm, so confusing and Basic.... LOL
I rather go basic, I tell you why,.. I'm in California so far away from you guys to get in to advance or pro settings.... NAAAAA WE KNOW EVERYTHING... thank you guys for let us know the secrets and show humbleness, no one like you guys... VIDEO LIKE IT.
Second! Awesome video!
Hey Dean. Is it possible I could get your email...
