I just finished a 1000km tour in Eastern Europe (some of the roads were amazingly crappy) riding my 2003 Triumph Bonneville 795. Not my first tour on her. As usual she rode perfectly, was amazingly reliable, performed as good as any bike should, and was a delight at every corner or over-taking opportunity. Being an old fashioned kind of ride she might be maybe a little hard core for some riders, but I don't see riding anything else on tour any time soon :)

Way back in 1979 I went to the Bol D'or on my 250 MZ. You can tour on any size of bike, as long as you adopt the right mindset. I intend doing a European trip on my new Speed Twin, and I do not foresee any problems machine wise. However, my 67 year old body may well disagree!

Hi, no never did pillion with luggage sorry. I'm sure on a overnighter it would be fine though.
