This was an interesting project presented in a well edited series of videos to highlight what it took to eliminate the homeowner's overall water issues ...and the amount of water gushing into that drainage basin really brought-home just how much water was traveling through his yard, YIKES! Well done.👍
I enjoyed the 4 Part Series. You and the team worked diligently to resolve the homeowners issues. The results are when you return and show the viewer how important grading and proper drainage go hand in hand.
The amount of work done on this job justified the need for making it a four part series, and you did another outstanding job of editing. Many of us are thinking "I could do that myself if I had all that equipment", but your experience and expertise at using them correctly is what makes it look so easy. Well done, and thanks again for showing respect to Ronald. He's a A+ worker and would be an asset on any crew.
I loved the series, and I love the relationships you have with various other contractors all of you work well together and it shows on the work you do.
I like how the pizza box is sat on top of the interlocking vinyl flooring boxes, which themselves look like pizza boxes. If you ignore the "INTERLOCKING VINYL" label, it's like you're feeding an army with two dozen or so pizzas
That’s exactly what I thought they were 😂😂😂 I was like oh nice they got pizza. OH. They got a LOT of pizza. Then he zoomed in on the pizza box and I felt dumb.
Thank you! I’m my most critical reviewer when it comes to my videos. I really try to make every second have content and no fluff. I’m glad you enjoyed this mini series!
Hi Sean!! Here is a suggestion.... My husband is a 60 year retired plumber from NE OHIO... Jim suggested that you can use a "Y"+ a 60⁰ (degree) elbow to roll out of pipe in the ground to go straight . It works better than 45⁰ and 22⁰... We love watching your channel... Jim has a lot of ideas!!! Started plumbing in 1954!! 87 yo now. Cannot hardly move from carrying cast iron bath tubs and using 4 foot wrenches!!! You should see his tools!!! LOL
I expected some volume flow on the end point but not that jet stream shooting out of your pipe! Wow! Great job, always a joy to watch things come from planning roughly with the customer and according to the things given on a property to a really working solution in the end... Ronald is quite a good guy, I hope I can still work as hard as him if I'll reach his age! 👍👍👍
30:05 - I guess hindsight is 20 20 but thinking about it, I guess you could have put the pipe here inside the concrete to meet up with the channel drain. I guess that means two flows down one pipe though. 31:22 - looks like the channel drain is also catching water flowing from the back of the driveway from the dirt here! Unexpected bonus. 31:41 Also, why didn’t the home owner just pipe the water onto the driveway temporarily instead of dumping the water onto the grass 6 feet to the left? Derp 😅 Very good build, the concrete looked great and you had very good flow as seen at the end. The channel drain was doing great too
Please keep marking your videos x/4 because I held out on watching the first three until this one showed up. Binging four videos in a row was AWESOME! :D
And thats why manhole lids are round they can never fall into the hole. Nice demo. As far as the work. Im always here to armchair QB and it was really good as usual.
Nice job, if it was my property I may have added a catch basin at the walkway to the front door. But the concrete solution diverts the water away from the house despite the renters maintaining the drains.
Nice, getting that water to the basin, lot's of water. Amazing the surface water going in to the basin, good call on the clay over the pipe. Yes its "Better to have money then need it, then need it and not have it!" -Daddy Rich LOL
Thank you so much for following through with such a great footage of such a strong rain event! I know this took six months to obtain but WOW! There are lots of drainage-installation videos on UA-cam, however none of them show video proof of their work in action. Many of your footage videos are from long time customers as well showing the longevity of your systems. Please keep up your footage videos!
Yeah I've been following you from the beginning on this one. It turned out real nice. The grass came back good. You never know they were there. Get a really good job. You got to be proud of your work and your guys you have working for you. Great job 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Always enjoy watching you and your team working together, solving problems, and getting the job done. Thanks for all your explanations of the process and for taking us back when it rains to see the solution in action. I check for your videos all the time--keep them coming!
Enjoyable series! Watched all four, since I always love the content. Especially the post work rain videos! Oddly fulfilling hahaha.. I think most homeowners can relate to and appreciate the content. It has certainly given me hope and ideas for my own water issues in northern Ohio. Supposedly, we just can't really use the Schedule 40 that shallow in the ground without risk of it freezing/fracturing with the soil heaving in single digit temps. Quite the conundrum....
Seeing your channel is like seeing Netflix for me, but when the work is large and you show it in more than one episode, really impeccable work, also when you returned with the rain and the height was grown and looked beautiful, that section that disconnected , they told you why ?? A great greeting from Buenos Aires ...
Really great series. People don't always realize how much work it is, to make these drainage solutions. It is very labor intensive work, and tiring. great series again and filming.
Brilliant end to this epic 4 part series Shawn. Big respect to our man Ronald - making the installation look easy yet again. There were so many tips and tricks in this 4 part video, it was great to learn them all. Will be seeing you on the next one 👍
Why are the end of the pipes not flared? This would eliminate the need for couplings when joining long section of pipes. Perhaps build a jigg to flare them out?
Not quite finished....that disconnected pipe because of the fencepost. Oh well, it was someone else not on your team and not on the same page. Drat, foiled again. Good job and your part of the project well done. Cheers from Edmonton.
Great series! Always nice when talented people can coordinate and work together. The volume of water that had to be mitigated from just one storm was shocking. Multiply that by months and years and it is easy to see how much damage can be done. And finally, I really like watching Ron(?) work. He has so much knowledge and a great work ethic. Your clients can rest easy when both of you show up. Great teamwork! Thanks for a very informative series.
Wow !! the amount of water flowing into the drainage basin is amazing ! Awesome work again fellas. Great video series, as always if You want the BEST ! You call the BEST ! GCF&D. You guys don't travel as far as Melbourne Australia do Ya? LOL...
Great series. Very complicated and therefore satisfying to see it all come together. I especially liked that channel drain dropping straight down into the pipe. I wondered how you knew the right size to make it, as it had a lot of water to carry away and obviously worked well. I also really liked the decision to run all that water to the drainage basin; all that water is now not soaking the yard and they can have healthy grass and a dry yard to use. And the way you put in that strip of concrete next to the house and created an open channel with the existing driveway. I did not have high hopes for how that would look and work but it worked perfectly and looked good.
What has become obvious is that you take a holistic view of a site before coming up with a solution. The solution implemented allows easy maintenance by the home owner in the future.
That’s very true. The reason we don’t do that is we work so hard to get our fall correct that we like the trench to settle slowly. This doesn’t let the trench reform.
I still prefer 6 inch SDR 35. Moving that ac was a great idea though it may need a security-cage now that it's easily accessible to random-trucks, defiantly a more energy efficient spot. I was thinking about how to make your business even more unique & you might try a PVC pipe bender. They're long ovens that are not priced wildly high though IDK if they're fit to assist in improving the quality of what you do.
I enjoy your videos and, the older gentleman is an excellent example of a good worker.
Ronald
The rainy day follow up at the end was everything I hoped for. Thank you.

Right?
You guys make such amazing team
This was a great series Shawn. Please keep them coming. I sure miss your drainage videos.
Weirdly I can’t watch a 40minute episode series on streamers without getting bored… watched all of these with interest.
Thank you! I’m my most critical reviewer when it comes to my videos. I really try to make every second have content and no fluff. I’m glad you enjoyed this mini series!

The homeowner is probably so relieved! I’m always amazed at how much water is taken away from the house/yard. Great job Shawn and crew!

A huge amount of water leaving the property and going in that drainage basin. Great job Shawn and team!
Definitely enjoyed the 4 part video and your hard work both on the job and in the video cutting room. Cheers Steve Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

31:41, brilliant comment. I admit I didn't see this until you pointed it out lol. Derp
Please keep marking your videos x/4 because I held out on watching the first three until this one showed up. Binging four videos in a row was AWESOME! :D
Wow! Your pipes caught a huge amount of water, I’m sure the homeowner is very happy about that. Great job Shawn and Ronald.
That channel drain was spot on
And thats why manhole lids are round they can never fall into the hole. Nice demo. As far as the work. Im always here to armchair QB and it was really good as usual.

Great job, Great video series Shawn🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉
P.s Seeing that crazy amount of water dumping into the main basin at the end of the video, is very satisfactory!😁
Nice work, that was a lot of water 👍
Massive amounts of water all directs away. This is great work
Nice, getting that water to the basin, lot's of water. Amazing the surface water going in to the basin, good call on the clay over the pipe.
Yes its "Better to have money then need it, then need it and not have it!" -Daddy Rich LOL
Wow this has been a long one. But as usual you did a beautiful job. Another Gate City job well done

wow! you nailed this project, the final result/rain footage was such a feather in your cap. Great work Sean and Crew!
Here is another suggestion... Use a Fernco fitting to join pipes underground that are away from the house.... 😊
I was wondering how they were going to put posts in for that fence while you were installing that pipe.
Yeah I've been following you from the beginning on this one. It turned out real nice. The grass came back good. You never know they were there. Get a really good job. You got to be proud of your work and your guys you have working for you. Great job 👍👍🙂🇨🇦

Bravo!!👏👏👏Thanks for Sharing!
Another Job well done. Sad that they did not give you a heads up on the pole for the fence.
Still - wow Lots of surface water down!

Shawn and Runt, WTG great job you guys!
Good job as usual Shaun 👍
Really great series. People don't always realize how much work it is, to make these drainage solutions. It is very labor intensive work, and tiring. great series again and filming.
What a crazy amount of water coming out of there!
That was a great day to film the rain footage. I enjoyed all the parts in this series.
You get such good results. Homebuying is less scary thinking that water problems like this can be fixed the way you show.
Brilliant end to this epic 4 part series Shawn.
Big respect to our man Ronald - making the installation look easy yet again.

Those smooth pipe's let water flow way..better than thoses cheap corrogated. I like you guy's teamwork..
looks like if that last pipe was connected you would have a good half pipe of water flow going away that is amazing work
Nice job again!
i think we need a part 5. need to see that one pipe rehooked up....Please keep up the great work!
Not quite finished....that disconnected pipe because of the fencepost. Oh well, it was someone else not on your team and not on the same page. Drat, foiled again. Good job and your part of the project well done. Cheers from Edmonton.
That rain footage was awesome 💪
Nice one Shawn. Nothing worse than water coming in to your house.
I enjoyed all 4 episodes of this project, thank you ❤❤❤

Great work as always Shawn. Thanks for making and sharing these videos.
Great series Shawn. That house is ready for the next 30 years. You have a great crew working with you.
Really enjoyed this 4 part. Great teamwork there
Your videos are great! You obviously devote a lot of time to producing them. Hopefully UA-cam rewards you handsomely for it!
🇺🇲🇵🇷🇲🇽😎 It's awesome, Having that drain in the Low corner of.
The backyard..
Love these mini-series! Great complete overhaul here!
Great job! It was amazing how your work with all of the contractors worked smoothly and seamlessly.
This was a great series and great pay off at the end with the rain footage
A lot of work with a great end result, brilliant series.
This was excellent; particularly enjoyed watching the different stages of the project - roof, gutters, etc.
A very good show you guys did well
Wow !! the amount of water flowing into the drainage basin is amazing ! Awesome work again fellas. Great video series, as always if You want the BEST ! You call the BEST ! GCF&D.
You guys don't travel as far as Melbourne Australia do Ya? LOL...
Again with the concrete work around that home it really help the looks or curb appeal.
Marco's Pizza is the best.

Man that property has some high flow water during rainy days
Fantastic work. Watched the entire series. 👍
OK, I eat Marcos Pizza here in D'Iberville MS. , I like watching your Videos, they are informative Thank you Gate City Foundation.
Man that one had so many moving parts. The flow of water sells. Yo Ronald👍👍👍🇨🇦🇺🇸

I’d be interested for an update for that one gutter that they removed along side the driveway for the fence.
Excellent series, thank you
Great series on a comprehensive job, Shawn. Fantastic work from everyone.
I feel like all new home developments by code should require a gutter pipe network
Amazing work! (Video coverage included!)
You should use a sod cutter then dig the ditch. Better results and leaves the yard perfect.
That’s very true. The reason we don’t do that is we work so hard to get our fall correct that we like the trench to settle slowly. This doesn’t let the trench reform.
Great job!
Excellent work the whole job turned out great
Great video series. Would love a follow up on the disconnected section.
It was cool to see it all come together. Great video series!
Holy shit man that's a lot of flippin water going into that big ole catch basin.
Beauty of PVC. I’ve seen similar at my home.
It is worth the watch. I learned a lot!
GREAT JOB 👏
Good job man!!!
Keep up the great work
I really enjoyed this series. It's great to see a big project unfold. I have to ask: how many cans of glue do you guys go through in a week?
Great series, thanks for sharing.
Watching you two get that y piece put in place was like watching choreography.
Nice flow!
If you come across this, please send your prayers and positive energy. I’ve been battling health issues for years.
