Those souvenirs you can get cheaper on shop Disney, we can't get in Australia...and then, think about shipping (to get free shipping, gotta spend $120 and over). In our case, sometimes it IS cheaper to get them at the parks!
i think if you're going to be ordering disney merch online to save money or buy it outside the park, it's because you constantly buy loads of stuff or you're a collector or something ;) i don't go to disney world often, and when i go i don't buy loads of souvenirs - so when i do buy something i really want, i buy it in the parks because i want to say it comes from the park, not from walmart :)
I went into the Dooney and Burke outlet store near my home (the one in Clinton Connecticut) and way in the back there were a few Disney items at 40% off. Worth checking out.
I don’t have kids so I would never buy a bubble wand but I appreciate all the parents who do because bubbles are fun and I love seeing them in the parks 😊
I must admit that the Figment bucket is one that we still have prominently displayed simply because we love it. I actually use the popcorn buckets at home for, well, popcorn, while watching shows. The refillable mugs are my coffee mugs every day; and I switch them out daily both at home and on the road mugs. I might be a rare beast, but I have used every mug and bucket I have (a lot) regularly. Yes, it’s me, I’m the unicorn! 🦄🤣
BEST WDW PURCHASE EVER! -- A Mickey Bubble Wand for my tired 2-year-old grandson, right before we made our way over to the hub to watch "Happily Ever After". Not only was he happily entertained for the hour until the fireworks, so were ALL the toddlers & small kids in the area! It turned into a toddler party! Everyone in the area, including parents & grandparents, had so much fun while waiting for the show. Pricy? Yup, but priceless!
Regarding popcorn buckets and sippers, I can’t eat popcorn but I have bought the Figment popcorn bucket (gave the popcorn away to a group that was thrilled!) and the 50th anniversary Minnie sipper (not pouring the Coke into the sipper!) Both are prominently displayed in my Disney bedroom and were worth the hassle of getting them home on the plane.
Fifteen years ago, I went to Disney with my parents, my cousin, and my two best friends from high school. One of my friends told us after we got to Florida that she wanted to meet Pluto. Well, my parents and I were scrambling to figure out how to make that happen. Cue Garden Grill. They were the only place at the time that had availability week-ok and I honestly have such fond memories from eating there and meeting the characters. I also remember being impressed with the food as well. Unfortunately for my friend, I’m not sure she enjoyed it as much as she could have because she was getting sick and didn’t realize it (she was getting strep). We have a picture of her at the table holding a plate with a cupcake, and you can absolutely tell she’d started not feeling well. It’s such a bummer to be sick at Disney, but I hope meeting Pluto was still fun for her. Our friendship survived that trip too 😂
Totally unrelated to Disney being consistent, BUT, Totally consistent is the fact we like what AJ puts together for us. BTW,,, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! 🎉🎂🥳
My favorite save is to stay at a Good Neighbor hotel for much cheaper where they provide breakfast (Mickey waffles at ours). We don't spend much time at our hotel when we are in town.
My plan is bringing a cheap balloon weight from party city and buying it at the end of the first day. We’ll keep it in the hotel for the length of the trip and enjoy it there.
I always buy a refillable mug at my resort and a pair (or pack) of socks. I use a mug everyday for my ride to work and wear the sock a lot, so I definitely get my money's worth of my souvenirs!
I have to agree with the lockers. We were there this January, and it was our first visit for 10+ years. When I did a massive shopping spree at Galaxy Edge (mainly so I was able to buy lighstabers and would not be disappointed if they sold out) it was great to just pop back and pop them in and chill out for the rest of the day without carrying half a store with me. To me they were also cheap.
I bought a (not cheap) Goofy T-shirt in Epcot in 2016 and despite not wearing it often it fell apart within three years. Meanwhile, I have Froot Loops and Corn Flakes T-shirts that I bought for $5 each from Steve & Barry's, which shut down in 2009, and both are a bit tattered today but still completely wearable.
The point about souvenirs you can find much cheaper on shop Disney may be true for US folk but for us UK folk, a lot of the stuff in the parks and on the shop disney US site are sadly not on the uk Disney shop site, and many are US exclusives, so I will be much more inclined to buy souvenirs whilst I’m there that I wouldn’t see back home, but I will double check before hand in case they are available from uk site too
Just recently went to Disneyland (2×) and our group utilized the single rider lane saves time and $ , if you have a favorite ride you get on it multiple times.
There is an excellent Wal-Mart right outside the park on Irlo Bronson. Very short drive and a great place to get the meds you need. There is also a Walgreens and CVS in the same area. Definitely rank Garden Grill as the best of the character meals; a lot of the veggies are grown right there in their greenhouses, and you get as much as you can stuff in.
Passholders keep in mind that your passholder discount does not apply at Shop Disney so that purchase in the park may be cheaper. I just suggest hitting up the Disney Character outlets (Vineland is the best) before you go to the parks to get it out of your system and then buy what you cannot live without in the parks. Disney magic is real and costly if the magic hits you in the parks retail stores or cheaper if it hits you in the Character Warehouse. LOL.
I send everything home that don’t fit inside my purse. I just do a one stop shop in each park. Except for Animal Kingdom because I love the crafts done in Africa, jewelry and hand carved walking stick (specially made for my tall brother) The artisan said he would make it but it would take an extra week to make and send. No problem for me. My brother loved it and everywhere he goes, he gets compliments from strangers. So I will make two stops for in Animal Kingdom. The necklaces and earrings are beautiful in Africa. So I send them home and they are carefully wrapped for shipping. Shipping is worth it!
Refillable mugs were one of the best value items we got on our trip. Without fail I used it at least twice a day for the full 14 days so easily got my monies worth.
Shipping the big item purchases to your home is worth the investment. I only paid $10 for shipping for a $275 item. It gave me piece of mind. And by the time I got home, it showed up at my door.
Lol I bought that millennium falcon bucket and I don’t even eat the popcorn. Told the vm to give it to someone else that just wanted popcorn. I did buy it at the end of my day and had no problem packing it bc I planned ahead. Just hilarious that it made this list😂
Prix Fixe menus are terrible. There is no upside. They force you to eat food you may not want to order and its pre made banquet. If I go to a signature restaurant i want to order what I want and have the chef make it. Be Our Guest is an example of a restaurant that was ruined by Prix Fixe
What? No love for Tusker House?? Great opportunity to visit with Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey! Also unique African inspired foods! Maybe only for advertious eaters…but you can still get chicken tenders, mac-and-cheese, green beans, etc. if someone in your party is not an adventureous eater. 😋
so a rather funny story, i was born with a bad right eye, which progressed so much that at the age of three, i was basically blind in it and what i did see was rather monstrous in shape. my parents did not know that. but when i was so scared to death of giant chip and dale at those dining character experiences, even though i loved it when i was a baby, it convinced them to get me checked up. you are also paying for a diagnostic tool it seems XD
Experiences such as Bibbity Bobbity Boo and Droid building make excellent birthday gifts from grandparents! I’ve done both for grandkids going to the parks - kids get the experience, parents save the cash and I give the grands an experience they will remember long after the trip is over.
Disney needs to save itself and focus on its customers and employees . They now are slaves to BlackRock and Vanguard . They need a Walt Disney figure to return to save the company . It has become too corporate .
You stand on the line outside the store and the person there lets you in. There are no reservations to get in, but you can get in the que to make the custom figures once inside.
Am I the only person who absolutely HATES that Genie + s**t?! It's so confusing & never seems to help!! I miss those good old days with the free fast pass!
Hey AJ, talking about saving money, didn’t you say that at a restaurant even if you had a light meal you should still tip as though you’d had three courses? 😂
Chef Mickey is great. Way to see many characters. We are actually going on 9/13 for dinner. It is just myself and husband but we go because my husband loves chef Mickey. Have fun on your vacation.

The most Consistant thing about Disney is that Disney is NOT Consistant! That includes Disney's restraunts & all of their different rules & polacies.

What a great vlog for anyone planning a trip. Thank you, AJ....you always have our backs 🤣🤣
Just recently went to Disneyland (2×) and our group utilized the single rider lane saves time and $ , if you have a favorite ride you get on it multiple times.
The refill mugs. For me. Coffee alone in one day pays for the mug.
Popcorn buckets are great souvenirs best imagineering for years.

Off topic but it’s funny how that guy on Main Street at the beginning of the videos has Cedar Point on his shirt lol

I used that plan....to get souvenirs online....wasn't able to get it. It's definitely a gamble. I'd say get your gift 100%
Blind boxes! lol! Truer words have never been spoken. Omg, we bought a hundred vinylmations when my son was younger!
Family wants to come back because of your videos 😆
Lol I bought that millennium falcon bucket and I don’t even eat the popcorn. Told the vm to give it to someone else that just wanted popcorn. I did buy it at the end of my day and had no problem packing it bc I planned ahead. Just hilarious that it made this list😂
love my Disney resort mug, it holds my water that I keep by my couch. forces me to drink water. Popcorn Bucket, love my Pumba
My hubby HATES bubble wands!! 😂😂 he was so glad to see those on the list!!
Those popcorn buckets remind me of the bath soap bottles that I had as a kid
That Mr Toad bucket is 🔥
I did both Battu building experiences when I went to DL last year and I felt they were worth as a when in Rome type of thing

Some merchandise sold in the parks is exclusive to the park.

I would gladly spend an extra 200 too stay at a resort where you can walk to more than one park, beach club is my favorite
7:48 OK, who else immediately thought of Breedlove from AllEars?
I wonder how Disney gets all that glitter out of their sheets and pillowcases 🤣
Mission Space. Mission Space.. Mission Space… 😭😭😭
Half way thru the day your 2 year old starts to cry BUY a bubble wand lol

Ponchos when it rains in the park 😂
I love Mission Space!!!
There is a Walmart right by DISNEY
Ill pay extra to not go to that walmart. Its bonkers in there

Seems like you would waste more time visiting the park nurse than just paying the premium for the items.
But but… I want to buy them in the park 😭😭😭 haha I know, it’s silly. But in the park, everything is better
Sometimes they'll do shopDisney discounts for Disney+ subscribers
Re:bubble wands. Bot one for my sons dog. And she loves it!
Good neighbor hotels are much better especially ones with a shuttle to the park recommend this.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
An entrance ticket to an entity that really no longer exists, Disney WORLD 🤷♂️
Love your blogs❤
Time is money and money is time; let’s save Disney!

Can you ask for a doggie bag if you cant eat the whole entre
Hard to believe that people still go to Disney Parks.
How can you make a reservation at the Lego store for the personalized miniatures?

How big are the jumbo lockets?
Just curious, wonder how much popcorn is consumed in a day at WDW?!!
Well half is gonna fall all on the ground
How much do the popcorn buckets cost?
Hey AJ, talking about saving money, didn’t you say that at a restaurant even if you had a light meal you should still tip as though you’d had three courses? 😂
I was told that bald men can't have pixie dust. :(
Pre Fixe is pronounced Pre fee-x. Not pre fix.
How is Chef Mickey's? I booked a reservation there, is that place worth it character breakfast wise?
Chef Mickey is great. Way to see many characters. We are actually going on 9/13 for dinner. It is just myself and husband but we go because my husband loves chef Mickey. Have fun on your vacation.
@@junez2817 I'm going by myself so I never been there before.
pre fixed meals No thanks, Places that costs $$$ no thanks, water no you can get for free
How much does a reusable resort drink cost?
I returned from my Disneyworld vacation about 9 days ago. The price of the refillable mug was 21.99 at the Port Orleans Riverside resort food court.
@@marykeegan2606 Thank you very much! That gives me a good idea on value for our whole trip.
