I really wish John Sessions would appear more on our screens the guy's flawless. For those who remember George Carmen he got it spot on , also as someone who met Geoffrey Howe on numerous occasions the portrayal of him in Margret should have won him a BAFTA. I read once that he can do a complete vocal dialect tour of Britain , not just the major metropolis's but county by county , even the different borough's of London. The guy really is class
RIP John Sessions. He was an extremely talented, witty and intelligent actor as is shown here by his portrayal of George Carman QC. As for libel trials, no celebrity should ever go up in court against a newspaper. The only ones who win are the lawyers and the media for whom the trial, win or lose, is the gift that keeps on giving. Unfortunately, Ms Taylforth was very poorly advised and likewise, more recently, Johnny Depp. I can understand their justified anger at career & reputation damaging newspaper coverage but they should remember the old adage “Today’s news, tomorrow’s fish & chip wrapper.”
For goodness sake!!!! Is this all the police have to do?!?!?! We have terrorists, peadophiles, rapists and murderers to deal with...what harm were this couple doing to anyone else? (If in fact they are guilty as charged.) Gimme a break please!
I would have thought the Jury must have struggled to keep an straight face the whole time, while this Case was being played out.."Carry on Eastenders Day at the Races"
The point is this: there were too many facts that went against her testimony. The pancreatitis claim was unlikely due to what they were doing that day, they were both drunk when they drove home (why they weren't nobbled for that too, I don't know), there was the devastating video that showed that she was the opposite to what she'd previously testified to - that she was not an exhibitionist - but, like on the day - she was drunk - she did more or less engage in the same acts with someone forceful and a criminal . GC's job was to identify and reveal the weaknesses in the Claimant's case and demonstrate, as he did, that they had tried to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Why she started the action at all, I'll never know. Arrogance probably.
It was all a bit nasty. I don't pretend to know what happened but the chavinistic attitudes she was in receipt of were grim indeed. So, she was drunk and larking about at a party years earlier with folk that used to be in Grange Hill. So what?

Well done Jenny, loved the acting :)
Good to see a blow by blow account.
haha
It's shocking how in a court room you have to justify so many irreverent details. Poor Gillian!

Her defence had an impossible task in fact Not a Sausage!
Carman is the reason I have decided to become a criminal advocate
Would much rather see videos of George Carman QC than an actor,Why none of the TV interviews he gave????
no one has mentioned drink driving? were they both slightly pissed? just shows they were more intrested in the member ? who was or was not there? //
