Energy Saving Tips

Today we carry out a review of energy saving measures to check if we have missed anything. In looking at our use of solar heated water we discovery that the washing machine and dishwasher are not set up correctly. They are both connected to the cold water cycle so they use electric elements to heat the water. So we reconnect to the hot water side so we can take advantage of our free hot water from the sun. That will save electricity and money. We make sure all mains connected items are switched off at the wall to prevent standby circuits are not using power 24/7. And we look at how we use appliances to maximise efficiency.
