- This small scale wind turbine can produce up to 15kwh per day in the right conditions. It is quiet small and it's modern design looks great on the front of the house. It is a simple installation process and takes around 4 hours to complete.

The fact that you would need approval is f'd up.
Great video guys. Keep up the great work! Love your videos!
Remember to get permission from your masters.
Like the looks of the Zepher. Quality to.
How do you know it is "quality" ? It could be junk ...
great work !
very good, nice look
they should be lite weight with the power of jet suction. I don't know to minimize noise with this type of thing , but I am sure solar panels and these wind turbines combined will be the answer to a sustainable home.
Rules by placing a wind turbine on the building... = NEVER attach a tower/mast on the house, always stand-alone on a small concrete slab
+Willem Budde They can work where this one is installed. Tower would be best results but if you can't have a tower then this install will do.
Why not attach to a building? If youre thinking lightning youre screwed regardless because of the building electrical connection, though the risk can be mitigated.
Why not? Who says?" It's your house, right? The reason wind generators are prohibited from being mounted on your house, is that such a scheme would WORK too well! If you don't need a tall, expensive mast, you save money. If you make your own canvas sails, you save money, and gain torque. The object of regulations like these is to make wind generators expensive and unprofitable!
@@jackfenn7524 Usually the conduct mechanical noise into the structure. There is no rule about it, just might be annoying for the occupants.
Could you please suggest a wind turbine that you are thinking of using sails. @@jackfenn7524
Amazing
Very nice
I wonder if a zoetrope wind turbine horizontal on top of a gabel roof would work so it's a covert install
No mention of braking. It seems the tailpice is hinged, so perhaps at high wind speeds, some type of pressure folds the tailpiece sideways reducing the turbine speed?
Furling ...
Nice
This is a bit light on for information. I would have liked to heard more.
Where can I buy a good meter that will test the average wind in my location?
🔥
0:09 oh wow that is a strange wind turbine i like it xD
The maglev vertical ones are better they vibrate instead of spinning better for nature
Does the inverter from the Zepher shut off if the power grid goes down so at to not put power in the lines when the linemen are working on the grid?
it always wind. planes take off all the time. They need to be remote controlled and flexible to move in position to be the most effective.
It is hard to overstate the stupidity of this comment.
What is the inverter needed for supply to the grid
Super
How much would a system cost like this in American dollars?
Andrew King
ide say 10,000
you get what you pay for
4 million.
How much rate of this?
I live down south and would love to get something that would run 2 110 window air conditioner???
Run an air conditioner ... are you serious ?
Wow
how can i get your small wind turbines of 500 watts?
I want 100 of them. where do i go for that?
Technical specifications
How can I order this wind turbine to west africa
Cost more than my 4 years bill from the grid .....and it's maybe 3 years grantee
I want to install for my home where can I get in my city
Is that an electric fan with fanblade set backwards?
No
which motor you used in this turbine AC or DC?
Forhad Hosen it’s AC after it passes the inverter.
How much power does this tiny windmill send down the line? And how much is lost per foot due to the resistance in the power wire? If this wind turbine made money, then the electricity it produces will be used right there inside the home, in manufacturing operations and residential use.
Unless you live where it is really windy ... Wind Turbines do *NOT* make money ...
Wouldnt these things produce more power with more blade area? They always look skinny.
yes the output depends on the rotor diameter
@@Pradeepkarti I can understand the diameter affecting output, but not how skinny they are or how few blades. Seems like a lot of uncaptured air is moving past the large expanse of space between the narrow blades. Think of the sail dimensions kn a sail boat. Big fully deployed sails equal more power and speed. Take some sail area in and the power and thus speed drops.
"How much cash would a woodchuck chuck, if it had a brain?" RIGHT! RIGHT! CORRECT- BRILLIANT! PLEASE Joe, keep typing! YOU ARE THE MAN! If you aren't a genius, you should be! Large sails, (not blades), produce TORQUE! And torque is necessary to produce electricity!
I place my order to this type of wind turbine just after watching this video....
WHY ?
What is is life expectancy
The ones that smoke don't last very long. Get one that doesn't smoke.
I want to know this also.
Wind turbines usually have the min life span of 20 years.
By then you would be able to buy 10 of these for the same price.

I know I didn't have a stick of sun in November and December 2016, but high winds 90% during those months, I wish I had my 400 airstream up, I needed it badly...

What is "HIGH WINDS" ? That tells us nothing ...
Can you install this in indonesian
That guy reminds me of a leprechaun.

Mr. Vann, you are exactly right! So-called "modern" wind turbines can never pay for themselves, because they do not have enough sail area to produce torque! And torque is as necessary to producing electricity in wind generation, as it is in any other method of producing electricity! These "wind turbines" are designed to fail! Real, profitable Dutch windmill electrical generators would make a fortune for the owners, and they would cost about 90 per cent less to build. And best of all, no Federal subsidies would be needed.
Looks like an Air Breeze turbine with a paint job. A 400W wind turbine will actually contribute very little to overall energy savings when you consider the installation and approval costs. Best on a boat. Sorry!
Agreed - very little ...
How to buy

15 kwhr? Do the math and dont forget to include the losses.
They will never show it, cause its a fact it can only generate 600watthr /day. total annual of 220 kwhr/year . sufficient to run home for 16days. Cost of grid supply of 220 kwh @28 cents/kwh = Aus$62.
Cost of turbine @ 2500 including the inverters and batteries. Itll pay for itself in 40 years. or if u only take into account the price of turbune and inverter @ 1200 , itll pay for itself in 18 years...
So if u buy one, ur buying it for a gimmick..

500 watt per...? hour? day? year? would be nice to know, I'm looking to build my own and I'm aiming for about 4/5 kW per day.
i guess its per hour if its not mentioned
A watt is a unit of power meaning a joule of energy stored/used per second. If you want to know the total amount of of energy used you can used Kilowatt hours (kWh)
Your average daily use is on your electric bill
500 Watts - as long as you have strong & steady 25 MPH winds. For me, and most other people, that is almost never. Today, the wind never got above 5 MPH all day...
probably enough to power your coffe maker
Have there been any studies done on the dangers to birds from these and other similar turbines?
+MrSustainableVegas No birds have ever been hit with a wind turbine. Birds are looking for obstructions all the time. Cats kill millions of birds a year yet we keep them around .
+Cat Scratch Ha! That was and incredible quip even though it wasn't; nonetheless a great response lol...
I hope it kills a lot of birds fuck those things
have you ever think that nuclear power plants are even more dangerous than wind turbines?
generating power from renewable energy is safer than those

6 kWh more than you generate with solar panels is a lot by any measure. average daily electricity consumption should be 2-4kWh. If you are wasting power on AC, your house is built wrongly for the climate zone. Rockwool would easily "generate" the needed power and save on heating in the winter too.
list total install price
amount of power produced
cost of on grid power for 5 years
cost of wind power for 5 years
Costs about $4,000 but makes only $126 per in very strong & steady winds = Very bad idea
Hello 😎 north Carolina 😎 USA😎 😎 getting me one
WHY ?
Looks like about a 2kw wind turbine. You can tell by the size of the stator and blades.
675 Watts in Industry Standard 11 m/s or 25 mph winds
What you want to do is produce money, and the way to do that is to MAKE something when the wind generator is turning, and not try to sell your excess electricity back to the power company. Remember, the cheaper the grapes, the sweeter the wine, and the "do-it-yourself" type wind turbines will cost less, and make more money.
yes, i agree. diy wind turbine using recycle material would be a great idea.
WRONG on so many levels. size of the blades, height and site for installation. If your town has good grid infrastructure, than instead of 1000 homes each having their own miniturbies - A larger turbine somewhere off the town would just make more sense.. Wind power scales pretty dramatucally wuth size of blade and the laminar wind .
Wrong. The unit is designed well and operates with almost no sound so the blades are correct for the unit, The height and site for the install is exactly what that particular application requires. They are running well right where they are. You probably don't want to have to do any work yourself or pay any money. You sound like you want the government to do it and pay for it for you. The problem with that is twofold; the government is notoriously wasteful of our money and then that would still leave them in complete control of your power generation. The beauty of spreading out the where the generation happens eliminates the risk of everyone losing out because of one failure and puts control into the hands of the individual. Freedom and Independence.
Free from government control doesnt imply spending unneccasrily more. Where it benefits to have a single plant, that should be considered first. Home Solar panels are good as it doesnt scale down with size, The power per unit area is pretty much the same. And please dont quote me on with 'But the sun dont shine all day'. But with turbine, there are two factors - the site for laminar wind flow and the surface area of blade span. Especially the second factor, where it scales down pretty dramatically with size. @5,000 kwh/home annual consumption soon to increase to 13 - 15 k kwh when your cars are electric, thats more than 32 kwh /day we will always need grid. So its wise at first to invest in Larger turbines. Anyway if you have surplus fund go for it..
Your first sentence does not even make sense unless you are agreeing with me. I said what we all know. Governments waste and overspend our money. Your sentence says the reverse. Your second sentence disregards the gov incompetence and wastefulness and gives up your autonomy and that should not be considered first. It also forces everyone to be in the same boat so to speak. People in the area who don't want to pay for the large turbine through their taxes have no choice but to pay up and then continue paying the gov for their power. I have no power bill for my home and soon I will have no gas expense to drive. I live in Canada in a completely off grid home. I don't need the grid at all. I have all my power needs including cooking and air conditioning and hot water from solar. I have a 7500 watt solar array and bring in 30kw in 4 hours midday and another 15 kw in the 2 hours before and after peak time. What is needed is to have an alternative source for "when the sun don't shine". To be able to pack my batteries full when it is overcast or raining or snowing or at night is the completion of reducing my carbon footprint to zero.
I must say though that you are right in that the larger turbines have a greater efficiency than the smaller units. My objection is solely based on it being better to take care of your self than having the gov take care of you. So that in my humble opinion; even though you lose a degree of efficiency with your own smaller unit , what you gain in autonomy and control is more than worth it.
Your Solar generation is very impressive. Here in the UK, I use 9 kwh /day. But we do use the supply gas of nearly 1300 cubic meter/ year for heating.. We are planning a 3 kwh solar panel system, thats the most our roof can adjust. In UK, government does a feed in grid installation, where u can feed in to the main if excess production at peak hours , and get it back at night during offpeak hours. Though the panels dont cover up everything (perhaps 2/3 at worst to 3/4 at best) annual electricity- but itll pay itself for in about 10 years...
Use it to charge the batteries and run the house based on that.
Tesla batteries are now also available...
WHY ?
You will NEVER get permission to install this inside a city in Denmark.
15 kWh a day in right condissions, judging from the size of that one, you would mean a hurricane? :)
it takes money to make money and wind and solar is not cheap the more you spend the more you save money money money hey let daddy do it for you
Do *NOT* buy a Wind Turbine unless you have very strong and/or constant winds.

How many birds does it chop up per day ?
Hmm Do they?
Why would a bird fly into a rotating blade ?
*Pure nonsense! All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity! And only at very high costs!*
Because there is hardly any wind close to the ground. It is also extremely gusty, which usually shortens the service life.
Only if you need to be self-sufficient from the power grid, you should install the largest possible wind turbine on a high tower for the winter.
*With solar panels, on the other hand, you can reliably generate green electricity for 25 years at approx. 3-10 cent/kWh!*
And how many bats does it kill at night...horrible things should be illegal !
I agree. Bats should be illegal.
