I also really appreciate that tutorial at the end. That's really useful inspiration for Photoshopping.
this is the love, dedication and respect a classic like wc2 deserves. A game that helped to Cement RTS as a giant in the 90's and early 20's gaming, it's a shame that it's now a dying genre, but atleast we still have the classics.

Wow. I just got to say, I envy your artist for being able to work on this with the skills they have. Making a piece of gaming history restored in such a manner is an amazing thing. When this comes out, I will have to buy and download all I need to relive my childhood in such fantastic detail.
The fact that you are bringing back my first video game I ever played back to life like this makes me so happy in all the right ways, thank you to all of you who are working on this, I love what’s been done and I just can’t wait to see the finished product. Keep it up and no rush I think I can speak for that for everyone else who is interested in this project.

This is brilliant work!
I wonder, did you look at how the portraits looked when playing WC2 on a CRT screen? The way the pixels blend on a CRT does a great job of creating what looks like additional detail that isn't there.

The good part about Warcraft 3 classic and Wc2 icons is that they are actually a really good fit to performing as small size icons, most of the unit icons in Reforged HD made on 256x256 when scaled down to the real size everyone will see 64x64 or in reality 56x56 if you exclude the borders, do not look well.
Mr Goblins remastering of the icons in a very faithful manner to the original ones, even though i would personally give them just a little extra bit of colour, for example on the blood for the eye and the skull icon, are still following the original design mindset which means these remastered icons when scaled down to 56x56 will still look amazing and better yet now, high quality.

Insane work. Already with these examples, I feel like the spirit of the originals has been respected with greater fidelity than how the WC3R icons were.
Plus, this is the kind of video Blizzard should've been putting out as they were making WC3R.

WC2 Death Knight is so much more badass than the WC3/WoW ones.

OMG!
The icons and units is great. Although the voice acting is too rough on some units. Also it would've been great to see different attacking animation from elven archers. As well grunts using Axes instead of hammers (I have noticed that isn't what warcraft 2 had even Orcs and Humans).
Other than that, oil icon isn't blended in yet. But that project is promising.
