Great episode! I’d grind out the curved bone, it’s a right of passage for a chunker. It’s not a death task and you may get spooned with an early drop or a mith scim from a mystery box. You are two chunks away from smouldering stone which is definitely worth a block. Ardougne also has a 90 agility task which could be worth a block if you unlock a terrible training method.
I agree. Do the curve bone and save it. Whilst you're going to struggle initially, you'll have some good melee levels and prayer by the end of the grind. Which will come in handy for the rest of your account.
Incase you arent done with the cooking grind yet. Have a look at cooking the potato spawn instead. there is one just outside the clock tower. You can see it at 21:22 next to the sewer valve. Its 15 xp per cook and the respawn isnt great so it would require alot of world hopping. But for just cooking exp it would probably be faster.
This is an interesting method. Pros: - Less running around - Don't need to spend time fighting - Quick to obtain Cons: - Stops burning at 41 cooking as opposed to 34 with rat meat - Won't gain any prayer or combat xp during the grind - More intensive world hopping I'd say the pros outweigh the cons as you can quickly get that combat xp up in a different way, the xp gap between 34 and 41 is almost nothing compared to 41-58 required to cook pita bread. You're already needing to world-hop anyways, but the biggest factor is just the time save of having to run through the dungeon. Good tip!
Rather than running back to the range to cook the rat meat, how about take an inventory of logs and a tinderbox to the dungeon if the game will let you light logs in the dungeon to cook rat meat on
The task block idea is awesome! Only feedback I would humbly offer is that a little music during the main part of the video (even just game music) would be a great addition!
Big fan of the task blocking method and rules. I think it is gonna streamline your series a lot, and prevents a silence of three months as you grind your ass off for 2 minutes of content.
Very nice first two episodes! Good job so far. I have some feedback on the task blocks - I think they're perfectly valid, but I think it would be nice if there was a max number of "active" blocks. You will definitely come across loads of chunks that are completely free and easy to fully complete, so limiting the amount of active blocks you have would be a nice challenge and would avoid making it "too easy", if that's even a thing. I.e. you can have 3-5-any arbitrary amount of active blocks, and once you hit that you must go back and finish one of these tasks before you're allowed to block another one. Just throwing ideas out there, really hope you keep going!
Monk's Friend is a VERY old quest. It was released in the classic Gower brothers days of Jagex alongside fishing trawler. Back then, Runescape was a much more generic fantasy game, and had barely any established lore at all. Seems like the Gower's just wanted to add a couple quests to give some things to do in the newer areas of the game at that point. 8 law runes was actually a really nice reward back then, they were worth about 1k each, which was a lot of money.
I like the blocking system you have, it adds a layer of strategy and gambling to the series that I think is intriguing. It might be interesting to put a cap on how many available blocks you can have access to at once so that you don’t get into the late game with too many though.
My new favorite UA-camr :) keep it up! Sometimes the UA-cam algorithm just gives you a banger video from a small channel and you get hooked. This is that time.
I'd say wait until you get your long bone drop before pooling the trigger on any skips. You might always get lucky on the Curved Bone drop. That cooking grind might honestly end up being worse, but on the flip side of the coin, you get more out of that since you will likely need to do more cooking grinds in the future. Especially with Port Khazard so close. I've been looking over the area and Port Khazard offers a well stocked general store at least with a Knife which will give you the ability to do some fletching. If you can get access to a spinning wheel you could use the raw meat for crossbow strings. The nearest one by the looks of it is in Witch Haven. Also until you get access to a bank, remember that you can bank during the Graveyard random event.
Loving the series so far. Enjoy the humor of pointing out monster drop nothing and what not. I do agree with getting curved bone. Best case your spooned. Worst case you got combat xp to speed up future grinds.
Allow the block whenever, so when you finish all the other tasks and only the curved bone is left, you can decide you've had enough of the tile and can unlock the next tile with your block, but like you said you would be gambling on the next 2 tiles. It gives you that "I could just finish this now, but I could always get it on the next kill" existential crisis constantly :)
On your last video you right click pickpocketed. I believe with menu entry swapper you can change NPC option to left click pickpocket. Cheers on the new series, I'm here for it.
I rescind my comment from the first video! I thought the blocks were like slayer blocks and became available to be used again once "completed". Knowing it is a one time block per three chunks seems like a very good challenge!! Loving the videos!!
Ello found yah today as a fellow chunkman, Fun series, I feel yah on silly rat related grinds love the task skipper mechanic, I feel like I've definitely sometimes rolled a death task on my account and logic away-ed an explanation on why I'm not doing that (Smithing grind from wintertodt looking at you) Love the idea of a skip to keep the fun of a chunk man without feeling miserable!
Love the idea for the task block and good explanation on it. I think it's totally fair and if I ever make I chunk I'd likely do the same. I'd do the curved bone task personally, and use the block on +300 hour grinds like skillcapes or other meme grinds (unless so meme its auto-excluded). Can't wait to see what's next!
Nice episode man! For the Block tasks i think you can only use the blocks wen you unlock the chunck not when your half way trough the chunck. That way you got to think about the Block more to make rhe best use of it.
Block system is an awesome concept, you should also allow yourself to revisit that task you block in the future and if you complete it, you get your block back.
I think you should make it harder to get additional blocks, but also make it so you can swap out blocks at will, thus unblocking the previous block (similar to slayer) and making it a mandatory immediate completion. Essentially it lets you juggle your hardest tasks, which should make these chunk series pretty unique and let you travel across the map much faster. Not sure exactly what methods would be best to make it harder. Either more chunks, or tieing it to QP or total level I think would be interesting, making so the later you are into the account the more blocks you can juggle. If you decide to do these rules you should grind for EITHER the curved or long and then block the other after you get the drop, and be prepared to have to grind it later if you get a harder grind.
Personally, I'd allow you to get your block back if you complete the task that is blocked, but you do you. You could also use the trips of cooked rat meat to grind out some ogres once your combat levels are good enough for that to be worth the trip because once you're done with the cooking levels and start grinding the ogres you're going to need a bunch of food.
Was gonna suggest grabbing a Phoenix Crossbow from a helpful passerby and ranging the ogres but imps are hardly a sustainable source of bolts within your chunks so even that method wouldn't help. Even so, I'd say grind it out. Those skips will be far better spent when the chunk picker randomly dumps a 95 Smithing or 87 Farming grind on you...
Even better than episode one! Loved the graphics and the breakdown of how long the rat meat cooking grind was going to take. You should break down the curved bone grind and how you could tackle it, and maybe look at potential tiles that the block would be better used on. Can you block the task at anytime? Could leave it till last and block if its not reasonable than.
@Blu_OSRS I think it would be more interesting and give blocks alot more value if once you start thing grind for said item. ( like killing one ogre would forfeit the ability to block them) so either block the task with zero kills or progress on a grind or once you start it you lose the ability to block it. That way you can't kill 50 and get lucky. You would have to block without ever knowing your fate. ❤
@@FibroMyBro I was looking at blocks different. I figure it was a safety net to keep the series moving, more than straight coping out. Give him a chance to send the attempt, work out the plan and explain the best way he can do it (maybe find another "this changes everything" and prevent it), than if the grind ends up going too long and delaying the series too much drop the block. Kind of a panic "the youtube algo must be fed" button so the series doesn't have to stall out.
save blocks for when you have completed everything else in a chunk, lets say you block something as soon as you unlock the chunk and then somehow get the bone in this case in 50 kills you would have wasted a block. but if you wait until youve gotten EVERYTHING else then its a more worth while time to use it
I'd save the block for fishing trawler mantas or the smouldering stone from hellhounds in witch haven. They patched the fishing trawler exploit so it will be like 15k an hour till you hit 82 fishing. The stone is a 1/32000 droprate with no good gear for you. Plus you could just get a bone grind from hill giants in the gnome maze.
Just got to say, I stumbled across your channel and I am really enjoying the series! The only issue with finding a chuck-locked account so early is waiting for the next.
Maybe do a task storage instead of task blocker idea. You can skip one thing, but if you want to skip something else, you have to go back and do the thing you originally skipped. For example, you could skip the curved bone and continue on. Then you get the 90 agility chunk and have to go back to the curved bone so you can skip the 90 agility instead.
I think that the task blocking system should be modeled a little more closely off the slayer task blocking system. That is to say, you only have a limited number of total unlockable blocks (maybe 10? is that too many or too few?), but previously used blocks can be released and used again. However, to preserve the integrity of the chunk completion challenge, you should need to complete the previously blocked task in order to reuse that block slot for anything else. That way you're not abandoning any tasks and leaving stray, incomplete chunks scattered around, and it could be very satisfying to return to a task that seemed impossible at an early level after progressing the account a bunch and make it a lot less tedious. I do like the 3-completed-chunk rule for unlocking new blocks, but I think there needs to be an exception in place for empty chunks, as these are effectively pre-completed chunks and hitting an area with several rollable empty chunks could land you with a bunch of extra blocks all at once. Other than that, everything sounds great and I'm enjoying the series so far!
I'm sure most chunk locked accounts would consider that singular rat spawn a meme-grind, no one would've blamed you if you moved past it until you found a different source of cooking exp
I will advise you should time on any task before deciding to block it. Since you can always be lucky. Set a minimum amount of time exploring tasks before blocking.
1.it might go much quicker if you use a log fire for the rat meat instead of the range. 2.Wouldn't it be efficient to use your inventories of cooked meat to train some combat? It makes the task take longer, but would cut your overall time as you will have to take on the ogres after this.
Just a rule I think would make the block less of a "this is hard I'll skip it" a block should have to be used when unlocking the new chunk, so you can't try a grilnd and decide to block it. Also stops you going for the long bone and only blocking the curved bone if you don't get it early type situation.
I'd like to see you just set a "block limit" rather than earn and use blocks which could last indefinitely. E.g. You can have 2 tasks blocked at a time. So if you had curved bone blocked, and, say, 99 prayer blocked, but then rolled a chunk which needs 99 construction, you would be forced to go back and finish that curved bone task to free a block slot. This means that your blocks work more like "delaying" death tasks until a point in time where they are no longer death tasks due to progression, access to new resources, or just getting lucky and getting a curved bone while doing other things, without it being a forced grind.
Being right next to Ardy, I think it's way safer to just get the bone in this chunk. It's bad, but it's not THAT bad. Having to do it without a bank is a real consideration, but I still think it's better to just do it now as you'll have to do it eventually and it's good combat xp.
Great series so far! UA-cam algorithm has deservedly blessed you 🙏 One question of clarification, what do you consider to be a "completed" chunk? Is it doing every task you can currently do? Or is it when youve done everything possible? Like you could argue your first chunk isn't completed as you still need to do Tower of Life. Not that you can do it right now, but it's something to consider.
Probably put a cap on the amount of blocks you can store. That way, all the easy chunks (that can sometime be just absolutely nothing, like in the desert or the wildy, though its less of an issue for your starting location) won't lead to tons of task blockers. And it would force you to use blocks on less hard tasks
Grind until you get a long bone. If the genies luck is with you you get the curved before it. No need to instantly block it as luck could always be on ones side. So save it till the very end. But this is common sense. Just wanted to write it down. Gl with your account. Subbed :)
I like the block system, definitely better than killing the account in a death chunk. It's not overpowered and I appreciate the block being consumed. I'm worried now though, because this might be the strategy that motivates me to chunk up and I do not have that kind of free time.
I would grind it, as you are within 2 rolls of Hellhounds in Witchaven (rolling chunk 1 and then east), meaning the Smoldering stone at 1/32k! Good luck
I am happy UA-cam Recommended me your channel, watching the first episode was great, and Im watching this as Im writing this. Maybe an idea would be that you could stay in a single world (for example, World 505) so people could come visit you while your doing your tasks? after the rat meat of course.
Skipping a task in chunk two would really deflate the series. Giving us the feeling youre not here to grind. Keep it in your backpocket for now, youll need it for tasks you could burn out on, not just get a satisfying amount of combat levels on
Honestly it could take like a few days worth of your time but I would try and run the 1/5000 chance on the bone. You could easily be spooned and get it after a few hundred. You have a reliable source of food so you could keep attacking them as long as you need and considering where you are you got some real bad grinds nearby u may regret not being able to skip.
Love the task skip thing. How does it work with backlogged tasks? For example, the quest you have in your starting region, or when you get a knife and unlock fletching, Do you get a new number to your counter, or is that only when you complete a chunk so that you can roll? Also, completing a skipped task, does that complete the chunk and add to your counter? On another note, shouldn't the task be to cast high level alch since you had fire staff and runes in your starting chunk? Keep up the grind!
I would drop out that money and gobble up the strength potion for a couple more inv slots, in the long run it's a lot of inv slots saved. What use do you have for the money anyway? If you plan out on doing the ogre grind, you might also use the rat meat as food source, and chain them together as well. Wont be as tedius but the grind will feel much longer tho
I think the task block idea is very well balanced with the ruleset you described. I have a question if you block for example the curved bone grind in this chunk but say got unlucky and rolled a chunk right after with a curved bone grind, does this globally block the task or just for that specific chunk and you'd be SoL and have to grind the curved bone?
Are you able to make fires in the rat pit? Slightly higher burn chance but if you bring 5 or 6 logs you can significantly lengthen your trips without needing to run back and forth
meta wise i think there’s no reason not to use the block on the curved bone- if you need to free up that block you can do so just by grinding it later, which you almost certainly soon will, but might be able to do so with the benefit of whatever the future chunks also give. Unless i am misunderstanding - there’s no logistical drawback to using it now and just freeing it up later with a curved bone grind if you need it
Just got home from work and opened UA-cam to a wild amount of notifications. Where did you all come from?!
My family and the authorities are still trying to figure that out
Got your first vid recomended by youtube. Makes sense since I follow a lot of onechunkers.
Mom's basement
The algorithm is treating you well. I like your block system, brings a new dimension to the chunk snowflake.
Just got your series on my homepage, also grind that bone, not really a death task, as well as a good session of xp for combat in general
Absolutely trueeee! My first chunk was so friendly, but it’s surrounded by very unfriendly neighbours
Between 90 agility and fishing trawler IDK which is worse
rite of passage*
@ You are rite
I agree. Do the curve bone and save it. Whilst you're going to struggle initially, you'll have some good melee levels and prayer by the end of the grind. Which will come in handy for the rest of your account.

This is an interesting method.
Pros:
- Less running around
- Don't need to spend time fighting
- Quick to obtain
Cons:
- Stops burning at 41 cooking as opposed to 34 with rat meat
- Won't gain any prayer or combat xp during the grind
- More intensive world hopping
I'd say the pros outweigh the cons as you can quickly get that combat xp up in a different way, the xp gap between 34 and 41 is almost nothing compared to 41-58 required to cook pita bread. You're already needing to world-hop anyways, but the biggest factor is just the time save of having to run through the dungeon.
Good tip!
That, or to run an alt into the tunnel with an invent of logs and a tinderbox
Rather than running back to the range to cook the rat meat, how about take an inventory of logs and a tinderbox to the dungeon if the game will let you light logs in the dungeon to cook rat meat on
You just saved this man 5 hrs of running around his chunk
came here to comment this lol
Thank you for not showing the unnecessary firemaking and woodcutting level ups, hate when people just make a clip saying "level 10 woodcutting"
The task block idea is awesome! Only feedback I would humbly offer is that a little music during the main part of the video (even just game music) would be a great addition!
Keep it up good luck on the rat slaying. Deffo don't block the curved bone it is a task in quite a few chunks so might as well get it done now
Big fan of the task blocking method and rules. I think it is gonna streamline your series a lot, and prevents a silence of three months as you grind your ass off for 2 minutes of content.

Hello Blu. My most recent DND character is a gnome named Blue, thank you for being Blu.
Maybe do a task storage instead of task blocker idea. You can skip one thing, but if you want to skip something else, you have to go back and do the thing you originally skipped. This means that your blocks work more like "delaying" death tasks until a point in time where they are no longer death tasks due to progression, access to new resources, or just getting lucky and getting a curved bone while doing other things, without it being a forced grind.
Can't wait for the next one!
that block system is sounding so good, that i might have to make a chunk account now.
Being right next to Ardy, I think it's way safer to just get the bone in this chunk. It's bad, but it's not THAT bad.
Having to do it without a bank is a real consideration, but I still think it's better to just do it now as you'll have to do it eventually and it's good combat xp.
nice series man !
Great series!!!
I wouldn't block. Training up combats and prayer help for the worse grinds later. But either way up to you love your work
For the cooking u could bring a couple logs and burn a fire there to help with time
Probably put a cap on the amount of blocks you can store.

Subbed :)
i remember you getting a jug drop from an imp in the first episode and dropping it. i was wondering if that would come back to haunt you 💀
I like the block system, definitely better than killing the account in a death chunk. It's not overpowered and I appreciate the block being consumed. I'm worried now though, because this might be the strategy that motivates me to chunk up and I do not have that kind of free time.
Loving the vids
I would grind it, as you are within 2 rolls of Hellhounds in Witchaven (rolling chunk 1 and then east), meaning the Smoldering stone at 1/32k! Good luck
grats on a great new series! Looking forward to the future :D
I really like the task blocking twist should keep the series moving
great series you should save your block for the death chunks
I am happy UA-cam Recommended me your channel, watching the first episode was great, and Im watching this as Im writing this.
Maybe an idea would be that you could stay in a single world (for example, World 505) so people could come visit you while your doing your tasks? after the rat meat of course.
lets goo enjoying this brother nice videos! keep them coming!
Skipping a task in chunk two would really deflate the series. Giving us the feeling youre not here to grind. Keep it in your backpocket for now, youll need it for tasks you could burn out on, not just get a satisfying amount of combat levels on
Best new osrs content creator.
That many rats is ridiculous. And I don’t want to wait for you to grind 80 hours so SKIP. Love the series so far
Don't you dare shit talk the monk party! It's jagex at their finest
i would strongly support a switch back to the red cape, maybe to break up the rat grind :P
Honestly it could take like a few days worth of your time but I would try and run the 1/5000 chance on the bone. You could easily be spooned and get it after a few hundred. You have a reliable source of food so you could keep attacking them as long as you need and considering where you are you got some real bad grinds nearby u may regret not being able to skip.
sub #816!
excited for this series. i don't play runescape anymore but i love watching series like these.
I wouldn’t consider blocking anything ever, until it is the last task left in the chunk.
Lfggg nice series homie
Are you able to make fires in the rat pit? Slightly higher burn chance but if you bring 5 or 6 logs you can significantly lengthen your trips without needing to run back and forth
subbed to keep up with this
With Trawler that close id hang onto as many blocks as you can
16:11 lol, now that you mentioned it
meta wise i think there’s no reason not to use the block on the curved bone- if you need to free up that block you can do so just by grinding it later, which you almost certainly soon will, but might be able to do so with the benefit of whatever the future chunks also give. Unless i am misunderstanding - there’s no logistical drawback to using it now and just freeing it up later with a curved bone grind if you need it
