- In this video I bring back the PoE Build Roulette - a fun challenge where we take a completely random build and try to make it strong enough to tackle the end game content. This time I got very unlucky with the random selection, but that only made the challenge more satisfying!

This was sick and a video series could be very fun to watch where you just do random builds from your randomizer.
I can only say - respect. Following you for a few years now and you still manage to surprise how knowledgeable and resourceful you are. You just dare to do what most players would not even think of it.

I followed your holy relic version and got all challenges done myself. First time killed über bosses. I eventually made tweaks to what suited me the best but your outline and guide was so helpful. You sir are amazing and thank you, thank you for the content.
Its content like that revitalises my love for poe. its so much fun seeing non-meta builds being used and made work for fun.

Like I like to say to my friends, any skill works well enough as long as you fork good currency in the gear. Of course that there are lots of skills that work much better than others but all will work for you as long as you like the play style of them... *rages at blade vortex way of casting*

I can 100% back this statement. I beat the whole end game with Chain Hook (Maven was not in the game at the time. Sirus was the main end game and Ex were still the big money not Div.) I did it with only 1Ex and that was to save time. I bought the 20/20 gems and a good 6L base.

Would love to see an SSF roulette challenge!
The reason why people think that you cant play any build is because: 1. It's hard to theorycraft 2. Will most likely be bad to play like you admit in the video 3. You most likely can't even start with that said build ( you got insane corruptions everywhere and cheated damage, the average player can't get that, even self farmed ). And maybe other builds don't necessarily need corruptions, maybe they need a hard item to get/ maybe a broken rare synth weapon/insane rare piece ( in your case you have ashes, which is a boss drop, so basically unachievable if you plan to start with this build ).
So you need insane game knowledge, dedication and patience ( which we don't have, I rather play a good build ) and money.
You can bypass all of this by picking a better build, hence why ppl say "it's impossible". Like I dont think people actually believe that you cant play the game with trashier builds. You can but not at leaguestart very likely ( and people care about this a lot - progression, starting from nothing ).
The bigger challenge would be to make this character on a leaguestart situation when you have no money, because right now its pointless. I could make my charged dash character from old poe using 200 divs and bully t17 bosses. Like yeah, obviously you can play any build you want and do most content, if you have money, patience and knowledge. But progression would be non existent, which is the most important part in this game.
My cold dot character in this league pushed to lvl 98, cleared everything but ubers, it's extremely offmeta ( frost blades of katabasis ), has low damage with insane tankiness, but 1. I progressed from 0 to hero at leaguestart 2. I used 10-15 divs to make it 3. It's not a bad skill and dot damage is known for consistent dps 4. I didnt need any game knowledge, builds and plays by itself.
So you can see the difference between truly an offmeta bad build with progression and a bad build with no progression. It's a HUGE difference and ppl will say that your build is unplayable vs mine.
I think it's a very common misconception that you can't start with any random build, because people don't know how to make currency without a build. I've done 100 div challenge before completing the campaign and flipping fossils for 2 days would be enough to make this character. In the end, it all boils down to a set of skills - making currency is one of them, theorycrafting is another.
@@AsmodeusClips That's exactly what im trying to say. If the build requires mad money then it's truly not playable. Not everyone gets lucky or flips stuff. And before you do this and get those 100 divs, the build is most likely unplayable or feels garbage.
The build shouldnt be tied to currency, because if you do this then yeah, ofc you can play any build. Everyone knows this already, but the common opinion is built around budget, no one ever said you cant play any shit build if you invested 100 divs - 1 mirror into it ( 100 divines is insane btw, that shouldnt even be considered a build, there are actual bad builds that work on 10 div budget aka lance's wb brand that he posted a few days ago ).

Your build by definition is unplayable, because you got gg gloves, a boss drop amulet and other op stuff. If I leaguestart this and just play the game I cant get any of that easily. Meanwhile lance's build for example is insanely playable, but still bad.
@@AsmodeusClips My comment got deleted... Tldr: No one ever said that you can't play any build, people only say this in regards to progression and budget, which are key things. Obviously I can slap polaric devastation and ashes on a bad skill and make it work eventually, this is not a challenge at all... And I agree, making money is a skill...that 99% of the people dont have...and even if they do, you are still gonna level up that character to 90 lets say with missing puzzle pieces that will make you feel miserable.
There is a reason why people put a negative stamp on these random builds, because they cant level with them or they cant afford certain items early. That's what makes them "unplayable".
@@AsmodeusClips Not to mention, and probably thats why my comment got deleted...a certain content creator posted a wintertide brand build recently. As a matter of fact, it's what I main, cold dot. Not this particular skill, but it's the same thing basically. You see, it's a pretty bad build ( it was once good and used for races as well ). However, what makes it a bad but PLAYABLE build is the progression ( starting from literally 0, barely needing uniques and you can also play without them ) and the price ranges. You can just play from lvl 1 to 90 and no making any buck, you are still thriving. You can kill ubers too, on 10 div if you want ( like the content creator in question, which did a similar challenge). You can also dump a mirror into it and make it truly good. It's your choice.
On build roulettes like this, if you pump divines and uniques into the gear to make it playable, then it pretty much ruined the whole idea, because again, there is no challenge if you got money. But on a 10 div challenge, it's actually a challenge.

Oh no here we go, i tried the randomiser and ive challeneged myself to do this in ssf instead of trade as a 2 week project to see if i can push it to end game - i got blade flurry of incision on Raider so thisll be a fun combo i think xD
People can brick their builds in a way not to progress. Of course experienced players can make a build out of anything but most players don't understand that much of the game mechanics and are unable to reset the character for something that works.

I thought the premise with random build roullette is to go zero to hero. I still enjoyed the explanation but was expecting something else.

Doesn't sabo have cooldown in his ascendancy? Combine this with the vaal jewel and an ilvl 86 eye jewel and you can stack cooldown, as well as damage
I think this is very cool, and it makes me want to try it but there's one big problem. Even with over 1750 hours played I just don't understand *how* you know you need specific uniques, breakpoints, charges and other systems. That level of game knowledge is so inaccessible for a casual player like me, even with the amount of time I've put into the game.
I'd love to know the decision making process, rather than "i need this so i got this" for each pillar holding up the build.

Frozen legion is also a spell. So could you no scale damg with %spell damg aswell?
It doesn't scale with spell damage, the spell portion exists only to summon statues which deal attack damage.

5200 hrs in and I still cant make a build that does more than 200k damage. I am hopeless LOL
So I can make any build work by just dumping thousands of divs into it. Interesting.
Huh didn't realize temple corrupt can hit 21~22, also how did you hit a 4% corrupt 🙀 bricked like 40 gems and just gave up & bought one for 30 💸
I levelled 9 gems at a time in the offhand and hit it on the 8th I think.
This, I gave up after crafting like 20 temples to get my fireball and decided to work on something else
Pretty sure a lot of 'You' modifiers should work as I believe the Statues function the similarly to Mirages from other sources (which again are similar to totems). They're making the attack with your modifiers, including equipment. They won't be gaining charges etc as they cease to exist after attacking, and on hit affects that grant some kind of bonus to the player would never apply as you noted.

You lie… average player can’t get any build to end game I play on and off paths of exile for last 5 years on SSF and never was able unlock all map sockets I Always end on 2 after 2 it so much grind it feels like eating glass…POE end game is for absolute no life streamers it depressing become game is balanced around trading.
You play SSF and complain about having to grind. SSF is an optional mode that the game is not balanced around. The game is and always was balanced around Trade League, so you have only yourself to blame for picking a harder mode that you can't handle.
