One of the best hunting posts you've shared. Your swamp and cattail marsh tactic hunts for whitetails are AMAZING! Your "hour glass" has a lot of sand left!!! Age slows us friend, it doesn't STOP us!
Couldn’t of said it better Dan as of hound hunter I know what you’re saying it’s all about the chase for us we’re not in it for the thrill of kill we’re in it for the dogs we spend thousands of dollars, hours and miles just to see our dogs do what there bred to do
Great video. People don't understand stand how much effort goes into running dog's. Seemed like you picked a great guy an he had a great crew with him. Team effort It's weird how we look at a life different when we have more years behind us than ahead of us.
looks fun! indiana is in the process of a season for next year not sure how its going to be set in place but it would be awesome to hunt for one as we have a nice population down here in the southern part of the state
i use to run hounds back in the 80;s an 90''s we ran cougar bobcats an bears an only took males never a female i had a 85 %success rate of kills out in Utah.i sure miss it now that im to old to hunt like that know . congrats that a great tom Dan
Always wanted to try it once for deer. Just to experience it first hand. I have been applying for a late tag in SW Wisconsin for the last two seasons, how long was it before you were picked? I've been watching a big Male on my lease for 4 years now, I see him every season, he lives on the highest rock outcropping and sits there quite often overlooking miles of valley below.
Wolves will indeed kill hounds... When a target track was found the area it went into was driven around with a close look for two reasons #1 to see if the cat stayed in the woods, or went into the next block. #2 to see if wolf tracks went in, and did not comer out. Brian wouldn't run a block if there were wolves in there. Just to risky for the dogs.
I did a hound hunt, mountain lion. Great experience, love the dogs, but honestly would never do it again. Feels a little canned hunt in spite of a 10 mile chase.
Congratulations on your first /second Dog hunt Dan .. Your a Great Leader a super awesome ambassador of the Outdoors

i had 7 points...
Don't feel bad I'm eating tag soup prob too
Great video! Wondering what the cost is on something like that?! 4 days with the dogs guide and equipment seems like a decent investment
It wasnt bad... The mount will cost me 3x what the hunt cost...
I need to go do a hunt like that. I always wanna go track animals through the snow.
How soon before this is on display over at Jay's??
So do hounds need to worry about wolves? Any dogs lost to wolves?

Do they eat the bobcat meat
Don’t the bears know they’re supposed to be asleep! .?
Well when you get a pack of hounds barking and biting at you, forced to walk up fast. Not good.
Ar cats in breeding season right now? I know yotes and fox are
Would have thought you would use a rifle for that? or isn't a rifle legal to shoot out of tree?
Good luck with humans balancing nature. I truly hope you win
