I retired in may of 2023 I've been an independent OTR trucker for 41 years, if u want good advice and want to make more money, follow these steps 1. All my trucks were 389 peterbilts and I haul produce a d frozen goods, my speed was always 67 mph, my average fuel mileage was 6.8 6.9 depending on the terrain and what state, sometimes I was getting 7.0 when I was going to FL. 2. Watch out for bad roads potholes ETC, it will destroy your rider and mess up sensors. 3 don't idle, if you have to bring the Rpms to 1300 especially on a paccar engine. 4. Never lug your engine going up hills keep the rpms up. 5 never use the Jake brakes unless u have to, I used to see many drivers using the Jake brakes just to make noise everytime they let off the throttle, your just burning more fuel. 6. Keep your tires up in pressure especially in the winter because they will lose air,, I ran mine at 95 on the steering and 100 on the tandems. Grease you truck every other week, especially the 5th wheel, if you don't grease your 5th wheel you'll chew up the steering tires and rear tires as well they'll start to show alot of wear on the sides of the tires. 7. I change my oil every 35k miles , some might say I was throwing my money out the window, but I look at it where I never had any issues with no sooth building up in my tanks and never had any sensors go bad, plus I use to add 1 gallon of Lucas additives in the winter and 2 gallons in the summer. 8. Don't be afraid to add clean motor oil to you fuel tanks once in a while, I used to add 2qts total,,,one on each tank every other week, your motor will love you, because today's fuel is very fine to the point where it's not as combustible as it was back in the day, and you'll get better fuel mileage because it boosts the centan in the diesel fuel. Hopefully these tips can help the new drivers out there that own their own trucks, be safe and always vigilant.
I’m not surprised at all, that the dispatcher remembered you. Your attitude and demeanor bring light into a room I’m sure. Have a great evening. Drive safe coming down to Florida. My part-time spot, when not in the ATL. God bless🥰
First of all your dispatchers remember you because you are standing out of the crowd! You've earned it and you deserve it! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now about driving slower! Driving 58 mph will eventually cost you a load! There is another trucker vlog on here called Peruvian Trucker and he is also leased with Prime and he committed to driving 57 mph and on his last video he was dispatched for a load he didn't have hours to do it and he admitted it was because of driving that slow so he sat It is also a traffic hazard driving that slow on a 70mph highway! With ELDS you got to make every mile you can! If your average fuel mileage is 9.2 per gallon girl you drive that truck at 65mph! Get all the miles you can get every day!!!♥️
That guy peruvian is a fool 😅 how people not take in consideration that driving that slow will cost you a lot of time. Having to take a 34 will make you lose out on money trying to save fuel 😂
Your amazing Driver I enjoy all your content I all ways keep checking for new videos keep safe enjoy your videos hold Fayetteville down stay safe out there god bless
You don’t make good money with Prime, I work there for several years believing the lies they put in your head. I was a solo driver ( lease and company sides) I did the instructor and s trainer side. I finally left after 5+ years because you can’t get ahead there, they regulate your pay through the sales department to keep your annual pay roughly around the same as everyone else’s to keep drivers from complaining that someone makes more than someone else. The real money is when you get off OTR and drive either local or regional. I haul milk now, from the dairy farms straight to the dairy plants. It is local and a dedicated daily route with a real truck thats not a like a Prime POS. I make $125* annually and I’m home with my family everyday and sleep in my own bed. Prime is great to get some experience, but after a year or two GET OUT!
Hi, I follow roadrunner Mia she as just started on reefers for Prime. I think she's on the same package as yourself with the truck. Not sure what terminal she's based. Enjoying your videos also. Howard UK 🇬🇧
Yeah them Peterbuilts do look nice…. Looking like they’re the boss of the road😂 ….but I do like the inside of that Volvo becuz of the table & seats but I know my big butt ain’t trying to climb no ladder to sleep🥴🤣
That’s always nice. When they remember you Especially when they don’t get to see you all the time. But then again who can forget a gorgeous face and positive attitude.
Thank you for putting in the time and the work of sharing your life journey in these videos but I can tell you you are spoiling us because what's going to happen next week we are getting used to this I'd be waiting I don't take my lunch break until you show up for your video so I can go put you on the big screen monitor and let everybody in the casino watch your journey and as of today we are at 685 lights 723 views let's go
🤔so why do they want y’all to drive slower?? Especially on a long stretch not like y’all going 80 mph out of control (y’all are professionals & know the weight of your load)
Thank you for sharing and VaGaMadeMe is amazing as well. Randoms are the Norm. and you got nothing to worry about on that side. I hope you got a bit out of the class above and beyound the training with Va Ga. Every bit helps in your world. The truck will do better on M.P.Gs as the engine wears in, not a worry. Please stay safe, profitable and positive. Thank you for doing what you do for thee country.
Sorry for the late comment, but I just found your videos and I'm still catching up. I just wanted to reach out about this whole going slower makes you more money crap. I was actually a software developer for 20 years before I decided to start driving a truck and I developed a lot of financial backend services. Figuring out math problems is kind of my thing. Here's the breakdown as far as I see it. Let's consider a theoretical 500 mile trip and let's say that slowing down to 58 mph brought you from 9 MPG to 10 MPG. At 10 MPG you will use 50 gallons of fuel and at 9 MPG you will use 55 gallons. If we assume that fuel is $3 a gallon, at 10 MPG your fuel cost would be $150. At 9 MPG your fuel cost would be $165. That's $15 you saved for that day. If fuel only cost $2.50 per gallon your savings would only be $12.50. The thing that they don't take into account is that your time is worth money. At 65 mph it would take you 7.7 hours to make that 500 mile trip. At 58 mph it would take you 8.6 hours to make that same trip. Almost a full hour longer. So, best case scenario, you just made $15 an hour for that final hour. Less if fuel prices are lower. We are paid by the mile and so the speed we travel is directly related to the amount of work we do at any given time. That hour that you spend saving fuel for $15 an hour is an hour less that you can drive on the next load where you should be making somewhere around a dollar per mile. Their math just doesn't make sense. I've been wanting to take that ACE2 class again so I could point this out to the instructor.
well done ... i miss it , useta drive otr in the 90's , then went local , in the end , driving transfer t&t hauling sand and gravel , til i got disabled .... if i had it to all over again , i would have stayed otr .... things sure have changed , i drove a classic with none of that fancy electronic stuff , anyway , keep the greasy side down , best wishes
What up sis , just like to say again nice truck, I like the way the peterbilts look going down the highway, I appreciate your videos, keep grinding and doing ur thang, o yeah how come you don't buy a case of good drinking water to have on your truck.
What it is is breaking time according to how much weight your carrying. If your tapped out at 90.000 then your breaking time is shorter distance finding their recommendations coicides with OSHA requirements. You could hydroplane depending on your speed and weight load . Even it out. Find the best loads that don't weigh as much and be safe than sorry.
They got me with a random 2 weeks ago. They actually got me a load from Michigan to Oklahoma so I could stop by the terminal for it. As far as the duals go they usually put them on the trucks they are selling that way they have new tires on them.
When I got my lease purchase truck, they gave me a choice. I figured that since they knew more about frugal trucking than I did, I should get the super singles like they had. I liked that, UNTIL I had to throw chains on them in California, and my husband refused to help me. Those super single chains are a nightmare.
A slime pack u no that purple freight liner prime truck came in there checking u out and that prime driver Ran that stop sign in yall parking lot by the shop I hope safety calls him up into the office about that he cold Ran that stop sign ok Trainer James 😂😂😂😂😂
First day of orientation is Monday and I’m leaving my family/ fiancé tomorrow on my birthday for I don’t know how long. I hope everything I’m doing right now is all worth it at the end. Ama work so hard to get my CDL. How was the first week you joined a trucking company and what did you do not to be sad.
My 1st week was sad and Still have some sad days til now, cause Im big on family. Its ok to be sad but you just gotta learn how to gain control of the emotions
Truck driving is not a 9-5 job it is a lifestyle it consumes your like 85-90 percent of the time if you aren’t strong 💪 willed this lifestyle will spit you out fast that’s real life advice from a real driver not a you tube know it all
I don’t have options to pick my own loads, When They send me a load I can either accept it or reject ,,If I don’t want it they will send another option. I usually stay our for 3-4 weeks and come home for 4 days

My advice to you!! Because i wish you the best and hope you are successful in your trucking journey or whatever u decide in life. Prepare to move on from prime after that lease. Prime is a great company to start at not to finish. 4 years at prime for me. All i see is miserable ppl for the most part. Flatbed is good from what i hear but reefer. Just isn’t sustainable for the long run. It may boil down to dispatcher. But in my 4 years i have had 4 dispatchers not by choice either. They quit. 🧐 wonder why. Prime on the low is a Ponzi scheme. The older driver get the crap loads while the bait in the new drivers with all the good freight. At the end of the day your just a truck number. An another dummy making a weekly truck payment making them richer. In prime’s eyes. That’s my opinion. Respectfully (dummy) wasn’t a direct comment from me to you or anyone else that was a general statement to be clear. Most ppl i know personally leave prime within 5 years. Stack your bread up because prime, trucking, this economy is only going to downhill from here. Wish you the best.
Would be interesting to find out based on what data you were recommended to drive 58 to 59 vs 65. These days with all the tracking info available, break down and repair data, there could be a very valid reason to slow it down. Try the slower speed for a month. Collect your own data for how much fuel you consume or any other metric that interests you. Then decide. Data does not lie.

Your only as good as your last load dispatchers are pawns ♟️ load planners assign the loads wake up rookie and smell the coffee ☕️
Prime is the old dollar trucking that went broke years ago old timers remember that they where lousy then and lousy now

It does boom very well.
I HAVE A QUESTION SINCE YOUR LEASE HOW LONG DO U STAY OUT FOR AND DO U POCK YOUR OWN LOADS
I don’t have options to pick my own loads, When They send me a load I can either accept it or reject ,,If I don’t want it they will send another option.
I usually stay our for 3-4 weeks and come home for 4 days
My favourite boss ❤
would you put the locations you be at or pass thru? like there was a few spots you was at that had like walmarts and shopping centers. i would like to save them on my truckers path. if not its ok.
Yes sure! I’ll remember to start adding that
To be an owner operator with prime, do you have to get your truck thru them? Or can I buy my own and then become an Owner Op with them?
Nice video. The Volvo looked ßtripped, basic interior. You want a GLOBETROTTER , PACKAGE. EQUAL TO THE Peterbilt
My truck made the thumbnail lol
😂😂 You was out there shining them tires
@@Slimepack392 had to get my man’s rights before we hit the road running🥲😂
They always change to super single

Volvo best truck 🛻 around
Hi I’m coming to prime
Volvo’s ride is so much better.
hey slime do u have a name of your truck

Beautifully beautifully Bb
I think 🤔 it’s more subliminal mind controlling training lol 😆 be safe please
Try 62mph
Hey Jasmine. Did you get engaged ?
You are so beautiful
❤❤🎉👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Prime does urine or hair test ?
Urine only…
Yall known for working slower and hiding in restroom
