    They are nice guys! I went to Brazil Joe Shirk’s parents in 2005 and started driving their bus in 2006 and ended in 2009. Joe plays the keyboard and saxophone. And up until about three years ago he was the main bus driver. They are now up to three buses with mega trailers!

    Your bus is looking great. Thinking all projects all the way through will save you from future problems too. Thanks for the info on paneling, this will help future Skoolie conversions.

    Looks great inside! I have always loved chrome! I was one of Big Daddy Weave’s relief bus driver 2006,07,09 and when the bus was clean the chrome wheel covers may the bus pop! Maybe someone can donate chrome covers for your wheels! That would make that red pop!

      That would be awesome! Jeremy Redmon played e-guitar on my first cd and the whole band came in while we were recording. Nice guys.

    Your bus is looking great. Love the Red color but you may want to give the bud a good wet sanding 1000 or 2000 to 8000 and try smooth out the roughness of the paint. Then give her a beautiful shine with a few coats of clear.

    Hey we're headed to Orlando at the end of this month to drive an RV back to you. Would love to come see you guys and the bus progress. Also if you haven't looked into it. Look at Maxxfan instead of fanstatic fans. They're much better and you can run them in the rain.

    Yours is about the 4th I have seen with no windows in the bunks. Port holes would have looked good and give some lite to the kids. Love the way your family all works together

    Ok, so you have some wonderful panelling up and your home is coming together nicely... but today I tip my hat to Arwen, (I must remember to eat before watching you cook in the future as my stomach was grumbling). Well done young lady. Another great family effort, safe travels from the UK.

    About treating the fridge as an exterior area. I wonder if you could create a rubber seal (like a garage door seal) that encapsulates the fridge on the sides, top, bottom? ... so that the air flow area has it's own space separate from the inside. Or are their air attachments that come off the fridge you can insulate?

    • @TheBusLifeShow
      @TheBusLifeShow  6 років тому +4

      The fridge does have a seal around the perimeter that will keep any air from coming around the fridge edge.

    It's looking very good, I'd say it's the best RV build I've seen because you've built it as an RV should be like rather than a miss match house like most do, you focused on insulation, love the boards , don't forget gas-fire-smoke detectors .....
    Looking amazing, great jobs, love the team work family involvement , nice to see it still exists..

    Really cool way of doing the angles brother, I do have a question though. Wouldn't 1/8 inch plywood be less expensive, easier to handle and lighter (for better fuel consumption)? I enjoy watching y'all build this bus also, take care and YHVH bless.

    Wow Shane and Julie what a hard work!!! And I can see now how everything comes together so nicely!!!
    Arwen you are wonderful!
    And all the kids are doing wonderful!
    Friday we will have our own bus here and will start a similar project!!! I am thrilled!
    In Europe a roofraise is not allowed but we found a bus with a cellar that is lower than on a touringbus so that we have an acceptable hight in the living space.
    I have no skills like Julie ( I am really impressed!) so I think I will feed everybody (4 sons and husband) and do the research and the planning.
    Thanks so much for all the detailed video's! They will be a great help.

    I use 1/8" bending ply all of the time. I believe that it would have been easier and there would not be a faceted look to your ceiling.

    I am still going through the videos, I hope you have a gas detector along with the smoke detectors. Look for a temperature sensor for the engine compartment so you can tell if it is too hot before it does damage, I cannot think of the name of it.

    The bus is really looking good, so far. I hope to get started on mine soon. Of course, mine won't be as elaborate as yours, but hopefully it will turn out well. I have a question regarding the puck lights. Do they work off of 12v or 120v.

    • @TheBusLifeShow
      @TheBusLifeShow  6 років тому +1

      They are 12v

    • @jerrybrooks870
      @jerrybrooks870 6 років тому +1

      The Bus Life , awesome! They sound just like what I'm looking for. With the exception of a few 120 outlets, I want the majority of things to work off of 12v, especially the lights. My house is off the grid with solar panels and operates on 12v. I plan on doing the same with my bus. I appreciate the way y'all put the links in where y'all find these parts that are not so easy to find. Thanks a bunch.

      The Bus Life this might sound weird but.......you remind me of a life I started living at age 3-8...... when I was adopted into it. I was returned and what HELL but part of me inside still has this Love...life. .n character's. Though I'm very lost as an adult. Right now I'm homeless but only because I was hit by a drunk driver last year and broke my neck, Sternum, collar bone ..... herniated discs...... I could not work and the insurance paid my wages 3 months and it was out of P I.P. Payments. Anyway.... I'm going to build a small small bus when my settlement comes....and I'm going to help homeless people by building folding shelter boxes. They have wheels and are small enough to roll around. I never want to be homeless again ..... and I also watch these and start to feel I'm missing a higher power. I'm Drug free. I don't drink....I'm alone...... so my request is...... when I get this small portion of the settlement check ...... would you guys be willing to meet me....... and Just PRAY WITH ME ... I Kno I don't need to be there for prayer but.. I'd be honored to just be part of it. And I can offer my help with the community......... I really appreciate it.

    I don't wanna upset anybody by saying this but I noticed in the previous videos the oldest daughter is doing all the cooking and cleaning in the old bus maybe she needs a break! She is never smiling when the camera is on her! Maybe she needs to come out and help out on the new bus some! Just saying!

      She is making one meal a day during the work week. She doesn’t want to come out in the heat and work on the bus. She prefers to help out with the lunch. She is a little camera shy, not everybody is a natural on camera.

    Oh man you are so MEAN. My youngest daughter is away to college and I no longer have that resource of the best cook and baker, your young lady makes so many different tasty foods and you are not sharing it. Your kids all show so many talents and smart, but I am simple and miss my daughters. I hope you all are having a great time with the bus and spending time together. Enjoy the children they grow up and move on with their own life, which is good but you will miss her when she goes to college.
