    Just bought this bow today. I never shot a bow in my life. I do a lot for handgun and trap shooting. Went to a family owned archery range. Talked for an hour about my wants and needs. They did an amazing job on how, why, do's, and dont's. This bow shot amazing after 15 shots. I had 4" grouping from 20 yards. Exited to shoot every day.

    Does this use the roller in the limb strings like the high end bows or the non roller style like the cheaper bows? Those middle strings. I'm new and learning. Looking at bows to try out.
    If not the roller style can you always upgrade or is that a necessity in bows?
    Thanks

    Ah man, I literally just bought a Hoyt Torrex a week ago, which I love, but I would have loved to shoot this one to compare. I almost pulled the trigger on a Remedy that was on sale for $800.

    Good starter bow.

      Depends on what you define as starter. I always encourage people to buy better quality when they’re first starting out in anything, so I agree 100%, but as the industry defines “starter bow”, this thing is $200 higher than anything else out there, which puts it firmly in the mid range category.

    I just picked up this bow. Shooting 70lbs 29 draw. Shooting fmj weighing at right around 505. Anyone shoot this bow through a chronometer with a similar grain arrow?

    Does Elite ACTUALLY make this bow? Or is it built by a jobber somewhere?

      I’d say this doesn’t replace the ember unless she has a longer draw length.

    ****edit**** I am absolutely incorrect about the MSRP. It’s $599
    ““Value” and “beginner”……the MSRP is $699……
    Now, it’s a well made bow, with all metal construction, which is awesome, and I’m sure it shoots awesome, but let’s be totally honest here- this is a mid range. Every single other “value” bow is under $500.”……..moron statement. Apologies to Elite. When I googled it, every article was saying $699, but they were talking about a different bow. For $599 with all metal construction, and top line strings, this is definitely a good value. As I said before, it was well built at $699, but for $599, it’s definitely a good value.

      Big difference is the strings. It comes with 150 dollar strings.. its gonna be a beast of a bow

      Elite makes mostly either flagship top-end bows or mid line ones. Mathews and Bowtech do the same, as the reserve the entering bows for the Mission and Diamond brands respectively. Other brands as PSE or Hoyt go from unexpensive to 1900+ fragship bows. They won't chase the sub 600 $ mark, as that is a race won from east manufacturers, anyway.

      @@Buran01 Mission MXR is $499, as is the PSE Brute NXT. Those are top notch value bows. This thing is clearly mid range. That’s my whole point. Call a spade a spade.

    • @thetowndrunk988
      @thetowndrunk988 2 роки тому

      @@novaguy9767 oh I agree. I mean all aluminum, especially limb pockets, plus the string and cables, is definitely a massive upgrade, and the bow is worth the price based on that alone honestly. But, that’s right in line with other mid range bows, so

    • @Buran01
      @Buran01 2 роки тому

      @@thetowndrunk988 Calling a spade a spade: neither the MXR nor the Brute NXT have caged risers or second berger hole, and the finish of the Bsin seems clearly above. By the way, I wouldn't put the MXR in the same conversation as the Basin or the Brute; the Mission uses mods to change the draw length, which for a entry level bow/youngster bow is a joke: every time the user wants to change the DL due growing or any other circumstance has to buy a separate mod, so if you buy it for a teenager He maybe had to buy a new mod every year, so you end paying "flagship price" for an entry level bow with worse finish, strings, riser and cam system than the Basin.
      By the way: I'm brand agnostic in compounds: I already have a PSE Supra and I'm evaluating the buying of an Atlas or a Nexus 6, and probably will get a Bowtech or an Elite in the future.
