I love this deck started first with this deck as a casual deck then added a few things to it and made a competitive deck with it that got 3rd in a local tournament I was in for Roanoke. The add-ins where dinosaurs and lightning bolts. I wanted to comment to say thank you for creating this deck and I love this youtube channel.
I play a deck somewhat similar to this except mine is Jeskai Dragons and is more of a tempo deck than aggro. I am running Dragonlord Ojutai (debatably the best one of the Tarkir Dragonlords), Draconic Roar, Silumgar’s Scorn, and Dragonlord’s Prerogative in my version, and so far i like it. Its based off of the Esper Dragons deck from standard a few years back and plays similar to how that deck functioned. Personally, i like dragon control/tempo better than dragon aggro, but overall, very cool concept
I bought this deck and it’s not bad I like gaining mana early game fast but my dragons don’t even last long on the field before being destroyed or sacrificed. I’m having a hard time dueling vampires
What about going Rakdos insted of Jund? First of all the Manabase would be less demanding and would free up a bit of the budget. That inturn could be used to ad more removal ( and discard if the bugged is a bit higher) to improve the aggro matchups. Bolt and maby Push together with a few Fetches ( for people who already have them/ have a way bigger budget ) would be the first that come to mind but the "dragon matter" removal Foul-Toung Invocation and the pseudo Lightingstrike ( can´t remember the name ) should be realy cheap and help the deck staying alive. Another pair of often overlooked spells are Roast and (a bit more expensive) Dreadbore. As Terminates 5 and/or 6 they could be helpfull in a Grumag heavy meta and Dreadbore can handle plainswalkers aswell. And for those with a huge budget there is one card that makes all big red decks happy: Blood Moon.
Green lets you ramp into your dragons. Without green he's going to be dead before he casts a single creature spell, especially in a format as fast as Modern.
Thats the reason I suggested a tone of removal. Playing a 3/3 or a 4/4 on turn 3/4 as your first play is to slow against most cometitiv aggro decks. Beeing able to remove threats turn 1-3 and then drop a Dragon on an hopfully empty or small bord ensures surving the early game a bit better then praying that f.e. affinity or humans will lets you live long enough that your huge dragons can take over eventualy.
I'm hoping to build this deck now and want to consider the upgrade options down the line. If I were to use the upgrades, what would the final decklist look like and would there be any cards from later sets I should consider? I've been out of the game for more about 15 years now and a friend talked me back into it.
Personal opinion here, but if you're splashing green for ramp I think Atarka, World Render and Surrak, the Hunt Caller are both valid additions instead of Dragonlord Kolaghan. You're almost guaranteed to have Formidable with Surrak, and Atarka is an amazing finisher by doubling your damage.
I personally run 4x Dragonlord's Servant and 2x Braid of Fire in my Modern Dragons deck, do you think these are worthy includes since my deck is mono-red?
can you start doing dual videos a budget version and a non budget version? It would be really awesome to see ultra budget 100 < $ decks than the 100 - 500 $ range
If I ever start making videos full time I will. As of right now I just don have time to test the larger budget decks and (most important) I don't have the budget to buy the more expensive cards.
I like this version better then the pure ramp approache but there are a few things i would change. Doombalde and Ultimate Price are flat inferior to Terminate I would swap them out. Also I`am no fan of Scourge of Valkas since it`s a win more card in my eyes. Sure it can look great but only in cases where you would win anyway because you already have a bunch of dragons. In short, I would cut these 7 and add Terminates and other cheep removalspell depending on the meta (bolt, dreadbore or in cases of budget need Roast) Cards I realy like in this version are Broodmate and Doomfall. Broodmate is a stright 2 for 1 for most decks if they try to handle it and doomfall can be livesaving removal and disruption (having some way of getting rid of removal, bordwhipes or counterspells can go a long way). Now to the sidebord: I dislike Brindle Boar and would replace it either with Life goes on or Obstinate Baloth. Life goes on should be not that hard to tirgger and 8 life for one mana can ceep you alive just long enough and Baloth can also be bruaght in against heavy discard decks so the coice between these to depends on the meta. Sadly Relic of Progenitus seams to get expensive even though it would be maindeck playable for a deck like this depending on the meta (helping combo/snapcaster controll/Goyf/delve matchups). The next best thing you get on a Budget is Nihill Spellbomb and there should be no downside in playing it over Tormd`s Crpt. Hope my opinion is of help to you and gl with the deck.
I like all these changes and I'll be implementing them ASAP. Not directly sure what to do with the 3 slots from Scourge since it leaves me with 12 dragons, which seems low for some reason even though it shouldn't.
The 3 remianing slots should either be filled with low costed removal or in a Storm/Dreadge heavy meta with some graveyard hate in my opinion. You could also ad 2 Radiant Flames to the Maindeck if you play in a "go whide" meta with alot of f.e. Tribal Aggro (humans, affinity, merflok etc.), also they don´t harm your dragons and enable them to swing in freely through lingering souls.
I'm going to say nope. Bogardan Hellkite deals 5 damage to any target, AKA your opponent. This by itself finishes games. Utvara Hellkite does LITERALLY NOTHING unless you go to combat and attack with another dragon.
Giant Monster Games your answer is confusing me. In a dragon deck, aren't you attacking with some dragons at some point? As soon as Utvara is on the battlefield, you can attack without leaving Blockers behind, because for each attacking dragon you get a token, doubling your force for the next turn. I know it's expensive to cast, but it's a bomb in lategame.
When this video was made that card was around $5 each. Making the deck just too expensive to keep it as a budget deck. Hell $70 is not budget I’m my opinion.
Hi,
can you post the upgraded deck list?
Ty dude
I love this deck started first with this deck as a casual deck then added a few things to it and made a competitive deck with it that got 3rd in a local tournament I was in for Roanoke. The add-ins where dinosaurs and lightning bolts. I wanted to comment to say thank you for creating this deck and I love this youtube channel.
The Fishman what did you take out and what did you add if you don't mind me asking?
Jason Scribner I put in 3 rampaging ferocidon, 2 Gisath, and 4 lightning bolt.
The Fishman what did you take out of the original build?
This deck needs to be revisited now with the release of Sarkhan the Fireblood. O YEAH!!!!!!!
With the new dragons from Dominaria and M19 how would you upgrade this deck
The deck I've been wanting to make since I got into magic!!! Thank you so much for the awesome videos!
It took a while but now it is made.
Found this on your tapped out the other day, bought it and it's really strong 👌 keep up the good work
NICE! glad you like the deck.
I'd love to see an upgrade
Usually I play control and midrange decks but I also love Dragons (and red green agro).
What about the Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl combo? You can get 4 mana from a single forest...
>modern
>"Early game"
>4 mana
>What
Zer0 for a ramp deck(assuming it’s a good one) 4 mama is in fact early game.
I play a deck somewhat similar to this except mine is Jeskai Dragons and is more of a tempo deck than aggro. This comment makes me happy

Definitely good points, I agree that a heavier emphasis on removal would help the deck.
I loooooove this. Love dragons and brewing with tribals!
awesome deck idea, i may try wasitora just to see if it would work.
Would you consider making a deck around quicksilver amulet?
I think Unclaimed Territory could be good in this deck, because..... dragon Tribal
Flourduck I was thinking the same thing.
There are probably enough non-dragons cards where the territory might be a slight liability, plus they aren't fetch-able with the land ramp package

What about Utvara Hellkite?
Very well realized video man
The different options are covered with details
See you on the channel ;)
Thanks. I try my best.
@@GiantMonsterGames Are you interested in making an updated version with Sarkhan fireblood, dragon's hoard and maybe Nicol Bolas the ravager ?
Personal opinion here, but if you're splashing green for ramp I think Atarka, World Render and Surrak, the Hunt Caller are both valid additions instead of Dragonlord Kolaghan. You're almost guaranteed to have Formidable with Surrak, and Atarka is an amazing finisher by doubling your damage.
It is a valid opinion. I just found when I tested it that it was not doing enough for me.
Hey what about putting in Verix Bladewing or Glorybringer
What about playing deathbringer regent and foe-razer regent for this deck
Can you maje the same deck idea for pauper?
what do you guys think about darigaaz reincarnated in this deck?
do you guys know where the side board is for this deck so i can buy it, i cant seem to find it
-- Sideboard --
3x Destructive Revelry
3x Duress
1x Guttural Response
1x Nihil Spellbomb
4x Pyroclasm
3x Slaughter Games
Thanks :)
Hi, could it be useful to add Kargan Dragonlord to this deck? Thank you!
So you can play with this in a tournament like friday night magic?
Yep as long as it’s Modern
I personally run 4x Dragonlord's Servant and 2x Braid of Fire in my Modern Dragons deck, do you think these are worthy includes since my deck is mono-red?
would Broodmate Dragon be decent?
I feel like glorybringer would be really good in this deck, idk what to sub it for though...

You should re visite this deck with m19 cards
Would all of the cards be legal in 2020 magic?
for modern YES.
Ooh, an intro jingle!
Hey I wanna buy this deck to play against my friends that also have budget deck how can I do that?
Sorry I am new to the card game
There is a link to FlipSideGaming in the description. Put in the cards you need and the promo code :)

Looking at -2 doomblade -1 Ultimate Price -3 Scourge // in 1 Doomfall 4 Terminate, 1 Destructor Dragon. Sideboard changes were as recommended.
new list:
4x Broodmate Dragon
3x Putrefy
3x Doomfall

4x Dragonskull Summit
1x Forest
3x Foul-Tongue Invocation
4x Haven of the Spirit Dragon

I tried out the radiant flames and it should help out a bit for my aggro problems.
And also Glorybringer. Don't forget Glorybringer
Honestly I don't think Glorybringer is that strong in modern. As it can only target non-dragon creatures your opponent controls.
Guys which one is a good choice dragons deck or vampires deck
I like the vampire deck more but dragons are fun for more casual players.
What would I remove to play 4 copies outcast
Molten steal dragon.
Giant Monster Games thank you
I wanna make one of your decks for fnm which one would you say you've have the most sucess with? price under 100
I’d say TRON
Is this deck tournament legal?
Yes, in Modern.
I wish dragon bloodmother was a legendary, it seems like a fun commander.
Don't we all. I also wish it was under $1
playing Kolaghan dragons without his command? D:
Budget!!!!! BUDGET!
What would you pull to fit Command in?
Utopia Sprawl?
This is awesome
Hi am a fan
Atarka World Render why no include
Are you serious?.....he literally tells you why he doesn't include that EXACT card.
@Tacoman14798 Thank you for watching the entire video.
Kolaghan and Atarka are female :D
Actually, as far as i recall, the 5 elder dragons can swap sex
@@DuelTubeChannel the frick thats weird lol
Whoa whoa whoa, what are you doing? Cut Skyship Stalker for Bolt. Bolt is not optional.
costs 140 now :(
yah, Sylvan Caryatid price spiked because of Pioneer. Was $1.99 now is $13.99.
Bro 4th turn I can already have an army out wtf is this
it isn't aggro, its midrange
Mid-range is a form of Aggro.
Okay but Utvara Hellkite > Bogardan Hellkite.......10 times out of 10

She bro...kolagon is a lady
OH! I did not know that. Thanks for the info.
Giant Monster Games no problem yo, keep up the cool decks! Please do an angles and demons deck
Kolaghan, Dromoka, and Atarka are females lol
Dragons are overrated.
But there too fucking cool
My Dragon deck is cheaper and better
Its not a contest.
No stormbreath dragon. ez dodge
When this video was made that card was around $5 each. Making the deck just too expensive to keep it as a budget deck. Hell $70 is not budget I’m my opinion.
