Thanks for posting this, I feel like a lot people just look at reggae as a stoner genre, you definitely know what your talking about and I think your doing justice to the genre.
Hmm, interesting observation. I never noticed that I was doing that. Probably because I'm concentrating so hard on saying everything correctly and not forgetting anything important. All the reggae videos are already shot but I'll keep it in mind for future ones, thanks.
I wouldn't say the accents are on two and four, it's not like the skank is the reggae equivalent of a snare hit, the accent in reggae lies solely on the three, where the kick and snare hit (also called a one drop beat) it's better to hear the skank as going to the accent rather than being the accent itself
Awesome video brother, keep spreading the language of music...What is that slap bar you have on your guitar I don't have it so I have to hit closer to the neck

5:26 is the riff he's teaching, 6:38 is the progression.
VERY COOL LESSON ! THANKS
Great tutorial and please make one for that super cool video effect at the intro.
That's straight up classic right there!

Just seeing this video for the first time I think you're very funny and good
the song reminds me Egyptian Reggae by Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers a bit :)

Thats a pickup.
Hello, what kind of guitar is that?
In this video I'm playing my Larrivee LV-03.
What guitar is good for a beginner ,aiming for raggae music
Acoustic! Taylor
And for electric, strat or Gibson
Check my channel
jogja jogja jogjaaa in indonesia mr...
HEY, do you have any recommendations for a decent acoustic for reggae?? I just have my electric. Please let me know!
Reggae is usually played on electric anyway. There are no special acoustics for Reggae but one with relatively low action would help!
I don't know if it's normal but my hand hurts A LOT when I'm playing this
+maxvip95 If you're not used to al lthe barre chords it will take some time before you develop the strength and endurance. Keep at it!
learn the proper barre technic
it hurts so bad here lol
keep at it maxvip95, the pain goes after a lot of practice & once your past the pain it opens up so much more fun playing!
you rack a dicipline
That rhythm sounds a lot like "la paga" by juanes in my opinion
NIce
can you plz tell me the name of the song at the intro
It's sort of the "I Shot the Sherriff" chord progression.
BOB MARLEY I knew this song was familiar THANKS YOU ZANE
The word skank in this case is not unfortunate at all. Skanking is a of walking with a dip, also a dance
Why didn't I think of this? Idk
Skank means to dance. to ska
I thought we Americans clap on beats 2 & 4
what kind of superpower have you in your left hand? lol
Lots of guitar playing. Make sure you've got a good left hand position with your thumb flat on the back of the neck and wrist slightly bent.
there is no spirit in it
mert barut spirit it’s in your head
why does this guy look like Christopher Michael Langan the guy with the high iq of 195
TERSERAH LU DAH MALES GUA
So basic
so, so, so , bla bla bla . Too much chatter man .
So good
