I can agree with atrocious, for those who think sinestro have to remember he’s always introduced & built out as a GL before he becomes a yellow lantern.
Sinestro, parallax, necron, and larfleez are villains you gotta build up to, and attrocitus is a villain that works very well and can be a venom situation where he helps the hero every now and then
The ma hunters should be the first villains in my opinion because there’s that connection between them and the guardians. And you could also showcase why robots being peacekeepers is usually not a good idea and why the green lantern corps are better than them.
On one hand I love all the different Lantern Corps, however, I also feel like they overshadow Green Lantern's non-Lantern villains, be they the humans that John/Hal/Kyle/Guy/Simon/Jessica have to fight or the other galactic villains who don't have power rings.
I agree with the idea of Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns being Green Lantern's first ideal villain since it opens up the door for future naturally built-up storylines to come to fruition, much like how the underrated and fantastic DC series Green Lantern Animated Series used Atrocitus as the first villain of the show. Atrocitus is also a great villain with much potential to be written as both a menacing and sympathetic villain. It would also give Green Lantern a moral dilemma, questioning what he stands for as a Green Lantern and, under the Guardian's supervision, question if they are genuinely just or as wise as they claim as this would be a great way of naturally building up to the rise of Sinestro who you could set up slowly as a friendship to Hal Jordan and other GL's like John or Guy (but mainly focus on his partnership/bond with Hal Jordan) and subtly convey is resentment and questioning of the Guardians and their apparent hypocrisy until it naturally escalates to Sinestro understandably embracing his dark side and choosing to no longer represent himself as Green Lantern after learning about the Massacre of Sector 666 and how the Guardians created the Manhunters yet denied any responsibly for the death of billions of lives, including Atrocitus's family, which all comes back together, thus establishing Sinestro's downfall as the first Yellow Lantern. Ive written my own 6 part Green Lantern film saga draft set in James's Gunns upcoming DCU (after the Lanterns show) or to be used as an animated film saga or tv show. I already have story pitches, ideal character arcs, hypothetical castings, my own creative ideas/inputs, and even my character sketches all written/drawn up. Everything I previously mentioned could make for a truly cinematic, space epic story arc with Green Lantern since the Green Lantern has the potential to become DC's answer to Star Wars. This would be how I would structure it: *Film 1:* Red Lanterns and Atrocitus seek vengeance against the Guardians + Build up Sinestro's downfall slowly + tease the Star Sapphires and Saint Walker *Film 2:* Return of the Manhunters under Krona's control + Carol Ferris joins the Star Sapphires + at the end, we officially see Sinestro betray the Green Lanterns and kill Krona as a sign of how he's fully fallen and leave the Green Lanterns travelling to the Anti-Matter Universe and breaking countless alien criminals out of the Guardians custody *Film 3:* Adaptation of the Sinestro Corps War storyline where we see the Green Lantern Corps go to war with the Sinestro Corps War on a massive intergalactic scale *Film 4:* Introduce Kyle Rayner after Hal leaves the Green Lanterns after all the death, destruction, emotional and physical damage that he feels responsible for + this is where we can adapt the Emerald Twilight storyline with Hal becoming Parallax + Introduce Larfleeze as the secondary villain of the movie and also introduce the Blue Lantern Corps + Establish Willaim Hand as the best friend of Kyle Rayner and set up the Blackest Night event *Film 5:* Have Willaim Hand start to hear the voice of Nekron manipulating his mental state and create a red alert to everyone in the universe that the Black Hand of Nekron has risen, thus leading to the Guardians in desperate fear, command every Green Lantern to hunt down Willaim Hand and Kyle, John and Hal attempt to save Willaim to keep him safe for this galaxy-wide manhunt + Sinestro and Atrocitus team up to try and kill Willaim Hand too, whereas The Blue Lanterns and Star Sapphies try to help the Green Lanterns protect Willaim + Introduce the Indigo Tribe and recognise Kyle's compassion for his best friend and tell him, Hal and John about Abin Sur predicting the Blackest Night and forming the Indigo Tribe + Kyle would desperately try to do anything to save his friend but is too late and Willaim becomes entirely under the control of Nekron and uleashing the gateway that allows Nekron to live again in the mortal world with Willaim as his avatar and resurrecting all the dead in the universe as Black Lanterns. *Film 6:* Adaption of Blackest Night, where we see Nekron unleash the Black Lantern Ring everywhere to end all life in the universe so he can remain as the embodiment of complete nothingness and no longer be infected by the constant chaos of life + Bring back classic characters for the dead (Guy Gardener in my pitch would've heroically sacrificed himself in Film 3 but come back as Black Lantern), and resurrect dead heroes and aliens + At their lowest moment Kyle, Carol, Sinestro, Atrocitus, Larfleeze, Saint Walker and Indigo 1 attempt to travel to The End (the very edge of the universe where the only thing that exists is utter nothingness and where Nekron is keeping the Emotional Entities) all in the hopes of rescuing the Emotional Entities to give them a fighting chance and unleash the Life Eninty to stop Nekron and save Willaim Hand
Atrocitous is a pretty good villain. He exists because of the guardians' hubris- he was _created_ by the green lanterns. His case for vengeance is really compelling. He's absurdly powerful, as the leader of his corp. If there's a great emphasis on how personal his evils are, such as by having him send the other red lanterns to handle the green lanterns so he can take care of the guardians himselves, he would be the perfect villain.
As the only gaurdian to feel emotion, Ganthet could be distraught that the guardians did what they did to Atrocitous. I think I want to see Atrocitious have a split moment of hesitation as Ganthet, backed into a corner, shows remorse for every wrong the guardians have done.
I think The Weaponers of Qward would be a good start for a green lantern villain or evil star, mongul, kanjar ro, Bolphunga the Unrelenting, etc. Polaris tattoo man, Major Disaster, Major Force, and vandal savage are good for first time earth-based villains.
Great video and loved the idea of Red Lanterns being the first villains for the Green Lanterns. Didn't think about it that much when I first seen the video pop up in your list, but glad I watched and you convinced me and I'm totally on board. Plus, I can't wait for the Lanterns series!!!!
I’ve always said the first villain for Hal Jordan Green Lantern needs to be Atrocitus 💯 but still have Sinestro in the movie and have him clash with Hal making him the next villain in the next Lantern movie…
I think even Atrocitus is too early. It probably would be wise for a Human Villain. Secondly, the Manhunters would be good. Next, Sinestro becomes the major threat. Then, the Star Saphires come into play. Introduce the Blue Lanterns. Then, Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns come into play. Next, Larfleeze starts a War. After that, the Sinestro Corps War pops off. Finally, Nekron makes his move in the Blackest Night/War of the Light.
I would go with Legion. He was the villain of Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn which retold Hal Jordan's origin story. It's a great story that I think is a good introduction to the Green Lantern universe. Legion is kind of just a tank meant to pose a physical challenge but you don't really need anything too fancy for an origin villain anyways. Legion is responsible for Abin Sur's death, making it even weirder that he only appeared in one story written by Keith Giffen in the late 80s. Geoff Johns retconned this story in 2008 and a bunch of other Green Lantern stuff as well. One of the things retconned was Abin Sur's death which was changed to involve The Blackest Night prophecy that Johns was setting up and Atrocitus, but I like it being Legion that caused his death more, it's just simpler. The Tchk-Tchk spends thousands of years trapped in their planet by the Guardians, they develop a new body for themselves, uploaded their entire hive mind, and escape their prison to destroy the Guardians. They end up murdering a ton of Green Lanterns including Abin Sur. This leads to Hal becoming the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814, being brought to Oa, and training under Kilowog alongside other Green Lantern recruits before being assigned as an apprentice of Sinestro. He befriends other Green Lanterns, most importantly Tomar-Re. Legion arrives at Oa to kill the Guardians and Hal absorbs enough power from the battery to destroy the Legion armor. I would put Atrocitus WAAAAY later in the timeline, like Year 12 for Hal. While Atrocitus was retroactively included in Hal's origin thanks to Johns, I think it makes more sense for Hal to learn about the different lanterns later in his career since those were introduced way later in the comics.
I agree I’d say if I was doing a movie trilogy you go Red Lantern core second film the yellow lantern core and the third film either parallax or blackest night or maybe both
Honestly if I were to do a Green Lantern story, I would start out with the manhunters as the villain, with Sinestro leaving at the end of that story to become the leader of the Yellow Lanterns.
A four movie story I could see working would have atrocitus as a first villain, who tells Sinestro, at this time the greatest of the green lanterns, about what the guardians' creations did to his planet, inciting him to protect his own homeplanet. Sinestro then disappears during the final battle, which Hal/John clutches up earning the respect of the entire corps. The second movie would have a "dictator sinestro", now skeptical of the Guardians' actions and motives, as a villain that would then be trapped in the central battery and would also introduce Kyle Reyner as a sort of "Robin" to hal's/john's "batman". The third movie would have Hal/John become parallax after a tragic event (Carol's death/destruction of Coast city) and have Kyle defeat him (together with a rookie Soranik Natu and Hal's/John's true persona fighting from the inside). The fourth and last movie would be about Hal's/John's redemption and have Sinestro, escaped from Oa during Hal's/John's attack, equipped with a yellow ring as the last villain, and maybe also have Natu become a yellow lantern aswell. The final battle would have the Sinestro corps completely overwhelm Kyle and the Green Lantern corps (and maybe killing important characters like Kilowog aswell), forcing the guardians to free Hal/John as a last resort. Hal/John would then defeat defeat Sinestro a second time, due to his deep knowledge of his fighting style and persona, derived from his many years as his protege, saving the very corps he was about to destroy not much time ago and restoring his reputation.
i like the idea of atrocious as the first villan then you can do a other lantern core as a villan or maybe the manhunters and then for the 3th movie you finish with sinestro and if you want do a 4th or 5th movie you can do the blackest night event
Hector hammond with a few goons like the shark, the tattoed man, or that magneto rip off (don t remember his name) Or a galactic threat that'll lead to Sinestro downfall (evil starr or despero) I'm not a big fan of multiple lanterns corps so i wouldn't even include them in my canon
My pick for green lanterns first villains are the ma hunters, because they were originally created by the guardians, and we can have that tension between the two factions.
Give all of superman's aliens enemies to the Green lantern's. There are enough people on earth for Clark to fight, Green lanterns have to arrest Lobo and Brainic have that be a comic, Hall would hate these two
Green Lanterns Vs Staro would be a good first Villain for Hal. On a random alien planet Staro decides I want that one and Hall and other lanterns have to stop Staro taking over. Show the lanterns doing there job of protecting planets from hostile aliens that aren't just lanterns
Well for me I would have gone with Hector Hammond as first villain or even Karshon the Shark and Evil Star, who’s next as the first ideal villain the Hawks from Thannagar or the reincarnation Egyptians?
For an origin story, The Manhunters should be the first villain. Other than that use Atrocitus & The Red Lantern Corps or Larfleeze & The Orange Lantern Corps.
Well in the Superman Tas episode in brightest day: Kyle Becomes the first green lantern. But if I was going to have a first lantern enemy I would choose Black Hand with a prototype Black lantern ring with some of the properties that nekron gives to him.
I think Atrocitus would be good villains for sequels asell. Imagine over the course of the movies we see stuff like Sinestro corps capturing Bleeze, Dexstar's owner dying, Razer's wife dying, meanwhile Atrocitus is in prison (maybe Hal meets him over the films and he gives foreshadowing and doubt abiut the guardiabs) and it all cluminates with him breaking free at the end of a movie and turning all of them into red lanterns.
I'd think it'll be cool if it was Guy and his asshole nature is what caused a former lantern (let's call him Bill) to switch sides and take a personal vendetta on Guy because not only Guy was seen as a bully but the Guardians can't or won't get rid if him because despite how disrespectful he is they still see as a valuable member with potential after all the destruction whatever which lantern Bill joined up with and is seen as a galactic threat This causes the Guardians to finally step up and discharge him from his duty as a lantern permanently. Guy starts to see how he screwed up even getting hate from his fellow lanterns and one of the lanterns shit talks him and tells Guy he needs to make things right as well as give guy back his ring
What about the different lanterns? I remember watching the story about Simon Baz in Green Lantern Rebirth and how he and the other lanterns took down Volthoom so I would say if it was about Baz then Volthoom would be the best first villain.
@@tyrellmultimedia No it can't be John cuz John Stewart has no stories to adapt, he has no connection to any villain like Hal does. Every major GL story has Hal as the main character, he's the most fleshed out so he's the most interesting. If you do a Superman movie you can't start with Conner Kent instead of Clark Kent.
This is just from the prespective of movies. Once again, it depends on what story you want to tell and how you want to write it. Not everything needs to be seen through the narrow viewpoint of how the main continuity does things. Elseworlds is a way to do what you want.
let move on from the human lanters give me outer space buddy cop Kilowog and Tomar-re Abin Sur and sinestro small stories like Tomar-tu, mogo, and others more love to the corps

I think the Manhunters would be great for a first villain.
I have them #2 after a Human Villain, but that's a great option.
On one hand I love all the different Lantern Corps, however, I also feel like they overshadow Green Lantern's non-Lantern villains, be they the humans that John/Hal/Kyle/Guy/Simon/Jessica have to fight or the other galactic villains who don't have power rings.

I would do Atrocitus, Manhunters, then finally Sinestro. Have Sinestro be more or less the Anakin Skywalker of the Green Lanterns.
T.M.M., cool video keep up the amazing work
Thanks man, will do!

Would be awesome to see a "Who would be Spider-Man's first ideal villain" video
Spot obviously. Kingpin is a easy one Spiderman fighting random street crime undercuts kingpins operation, so he tries to get rid of him
I really like the Atrocious idea, reminds of the Green Lantern Animated Series.
Great video and loved the idea of Red Lanterns being the first villains for the Green Lanterns. Didn't think about it that much when I first seen the video pop up in your list, but glad I watched and you convinced me and I'm totally on board. Plus, I can't wait for the Lanterns series!!!!
As a cat guy I have always liked the Red Lanterns because of Dex-starr
I’ve always said the first villain for Hal Jordan Green Lantern needs to be Atrocitus 💯 but still have Sinestro in the movie and have him clash with Hal making him the next villain in the next Lantern movie…
I would’ve picked the Manhunters as the first villain,
I like this idea. The thing that I wish for is that at the climax of the story GL defeats Atrocitus with cleverness/talking, instead of violence.
Great video, how about Suicide Squad members as different lanterns? Or Teen Titans? Or even Doom Patrol?
I think even Atrocitus is too early. It probably would be wise for a Human Villain. Secondly, the Manhunters would be good. Next, Sinestro becomes the major threat. Kyle Rayner and Jessica Cruz are my favorite lanterns.

We need to show who the rigs were made to fight in the first place, other ring users isn't an answer. Who do they protect planets from,
