This is what I'm trying to tell my neurologist but they gave me basic migraine meds that sound dangerous without me getting my cardio appointments out of the way first. I just wanted them to X-ray / do imaging of my vertebrae going from my heart area/between shoulders up into my skull, especially right where your animation was pointing out. Ehlers Danlos syndrome shouldn't be unknown to everyone else in the facility except the genetics department where the diagnosis happens. Thanks so much for making all these videos and helping so many people!!
@@wesporter2176 the upper cervical chiro that I saw made my situation much worse! I have weakened ligaments/connective tissue, so chiro for my neck was never a good idea! After seeing the upper cervical chiro, I then had a whole new problem: trigeminal neuralgia! To this day, i cannot put pressure on my scalp or face! I do not recommend chiropractor's to anyone. See a DO instead.
I have Trigeminal neuralgia for about 12 years and my NUCCA Chiropractor (Atlas orthogonal chiropractic technique) has saved my live many times. Every time the pain comes back, he adjusting my atlas works. Better than meds. Neurologist doesn't believe it but I don't care. TN is HELL.
It can also cause seizures. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy because of it but my dad brought me to a chiropractor after the hospital's couldn't figure it out. After a treatment plan the vertebrae stopped pressing on my vagus nerve and my grand mal seizures stopped completely. It's been about 13 years and I haven't had a seizure of any kind since. This seems to be something that people haven't quite figured out yet that really would help a lot of seizure sufferers and even rid them of their seizures completely like it did for me.
@Don All they have to do is get the vertebrae pressing on the nerve to stay in place correctly. They would adjust your neck every time it slips out of place until it sticks right.
I've done upper cervical (NUCCA method) for seven months and it has helped my post concussion syndrome immensely I highly recommend trying it. I also have suffered from low energy and depression and both have also improved greatly I am quite happy and wish I heard about it sooner.
@@angelojones888 Yes I would recommend NUCCA (or Blair or Atlas Orthogonal) before prolotherapy injections it's not as expensive I understand. Try it for a year at least then do prolo if it's not working out. I'm on ten months now not sure how many sessions... I did twice a week for about two months then once a week for maybe 3 months then only once a month now.
Thank you Dr. Hauser! Your presentations are awesome and helps us to understand the cause of neck issues which I have. Helps me better to explain my symptoms. Blessings!
I’ve been going to the chiropractor for about 3 months and he says I have the most messed up c2 he has ever seen. It goes out and down. Effed it up on a roller coaster when I was a kid. But the chiropractor treats me well. I look forward to adjustments!
Hi Travis, Sorry to hear about your C2. But glad that your chiropractor is helping! Ideally, it gets to a point where the vertebra is stable. If it is not staying, then the ligament laxity and spinal instability consultation may be beneficial to get to the bottom of why it won't stay in place. We feel that there should be an endpoint with treatments for pain, unless an occasional tune up in extreme cases. But if someone requires weekly adjustments, there may be other issues at play with the ligaments. Something for you to consider if the problem continues. Hope it doesn't though. Wish you all the best. Take care!
I have been suffering for 3 years with ALL of the symptoms that this causes. I can't even walk my dog without feeling unsteady and like I am about to drop. It has caused terrible anxiety for me, I'm afraid to leave my house sometimes. I was diagnosed with Mineres disease and I continue to see an ENT but I don't feel any better. I will reach out to this Doctor, I hope they can help me, this is no way to live 😔
I fractured my C1 vertebrae in a fall on the evening of May 17, 2020. I was not aware I fractured anything as I was not in any pain. I was, however, paralyzed in my arms, fingers and legs. This lasted about two hours. When I could move I called an ambulance. Now, over a hear later, my right ear keeps feeling like it might have an infection but, when checked, it is always clear. Now I know wh. Thank you.
Hi Milk, thanks for the question. This video illustrates the relationship between C1 and C2 and showing how when those two are not in proper alignment what symptoms can occur.
Because the Atlas or C1 vertebra has a different shape and is situated directly below the skull. You may be looking at the more similar C2 and C3 vertebra..
My C2 completely shifted around to one side whereas my C1 stayed with my head, causing all the symptoms described. I had an operation fixing my C1, C2 and C3 together and now I'm fine but have no sideways motion with my neck. Thanks for the video, very interesting.
Hi SkThe Janner, thanks for your comment. The symptoms that people suffer through with upper cervical instability are just terrible, which it sounds like you experienced firsthand, enough so to get a surgical procedure. Prolotherapy is an alternative to fusion surgery. It is a regenerative medicine treatment that helps the ligaments to stabilize and the instability/shifting of the vertebrae normalize. Glad you are doing well. Thanks again for reaching out. Take care.
@SkTheJanner hello sir, im also did a surgery in c1 ,c2. Now im fyn but same As u ( no sideway motion with My neck) . i tried a lot to drive a two wheeler. But i cant balance the vehicle, handle bar was shaking ,bcoz of instability. I can walk, but cant run. it's hurting me a lot. Can u drive two wheeler? Can u run? Pls pls pls reply me sir,
this is great information ive just started looking into things like this trying to find out a cause for my ear issues i get 2-3 times a year ive also read that this can also lead to bladder and bowel loss of control when i was thinking it was anxiety maybe its this instead i get fullness in the ear always on the left constant neck and should pain my neck cracks everytime i roll it from side to side i have tinnitus and sensitivity to sound had vertigo couple of times but haven't had that in a few years would it be a good idea to get my c1 c2 checked out.
After years of believing my back pain was from scoliosis (drs said this to me at 19, diagnosed as child). I was officially diagnosed with Ankylosis Spondylitis (autoimmune disorder) on August 14th 2023. Unfortunately, I received treatment late and because of this, AS caused extensive damage to my spine creating multiple auto fusions on C1 C2 C3 C5 C6, mild basilar invagination and even IDR (idiopathic condylar resorption). I had surgery November 28th. Go back for my follow up December Monday 11. I don’t have the pop and grinding anymore!! I’m starting to feel like a new person. Once I heal from spine surgery then I can have my IDR surgery.
Ariel - we are so glad to hear that you are getting your life back! We wish you all the best on your continued healing journey and are praying for you!

Its been around 5 months now. Chronic deep neck ache with ear fullness\pressure and eaustachian tube disfunction. Also some tinnitus. Interesting info here, more hope. Thanks
Hi GC, Sorry to hear that you are going through that. Yes, ear fullness/pressure is one of the most common issues connected to cervical instability. We have a lot more about this in our upper cervical instability webinar from a couple weeks back. It is lengthy, but it sounds like you are doing a lot of work on trying to get to the bottom of your problem. It may help answer more questions for you. It's on our youtube channel, FB, and our website. The direct link is here: ua-cam.com/video/Or-67usWrqQ/v-deo.html
Is it recommeded this part of the neck (or any part of the neck) should be done under the guidance of ct imaging etc.? Looks like a concern the artery could be inadvertently punctured.
I had a CT of my neck and it showed a calcified deposit slightly left of my C2 vertebrae. Dr said most likely from prior trauma. (I was in a car accident and never sought medical attention) anyway, Dr wants me to get an MRI to check for a pinched nerve. I am having all of those symptoms plus my shoulders and face feel like they are vibrating, especially if my head turns to the left. Also left hand is shaking. Is that a symptom of a pinched nerve also? I’m quite freaked out by how I feel. :(
when was 8 year old I had an accident and doctors say I have a problem with my c1 c2 then they did surgery where they put a wire-like thing which is visible i x rays back then when i used to visit doctors after surgery now i am 26 nowadays I have neck pain when sitting while leaning on my head on the sofa for more than few minutes and at night while i sleep pain worsens and lot of tick tack noises i hear in my neck many time what would be your solution which is natural and helpfull
I have had my problem for some years - migraine every day which I assumed with a 20 year history of migraine, was radiation of pain into my neck. It was then identified that I had C2/3 inflammation and had a series of cortisone injections under CT. These gave limited relief. An exacerbation of symptoms recently has left me with a permanent migraine and neck pain from top to bottom level C7/T1 and a burning sensation across my right shoulder (same side as neck pain and migraine.) I notice that I can take something to help me sleep but as soon as I get up the pain comes back pretty much instantly and gets worse during the day - so much so that I have missed weeks off work. I have had scans including bone scans - and am scheduled for C4/5 cortisone-a radiologist colleague believes it is actually a problem with my occipital nerve and I am now in pain but totally confused - and really just want relief soon. I do have blurred vision, sensitivity to noise, intense migraine, twitching nerve in my eye, and pain throughout my neck - some tingling of my scalp - I am not a happy camper at present and due to injection later this week -
Hi j9andphoenix- if you would like our specialists to help you, we're happy to. We do the opposite of cortisone, our treatment is regenerative injection therapy (Prolotheapy), whereas cortisone is degenerative to the tissue. Very sorry that you are dealing with those problems. They are very common for our office to fix, and if you feel that you'd like to discuss the possibility of you coming to see us, please reach out to us directly to talk more about your case privately on our website: caringmedical.com. Aww thats so sad that you went through all of that and had no improvement i wonder why it didn't strengthen the ligaments as you had so hoped. I hope you are ok. It's a terrible illness.
I'm currently dealing with this problem. Got injured while at work. Have been dealing with crepitus when I turn my neck. Fortunately its mostly concentrated to the right side. CT scans was inconclusive, but I'm going for a flexion and extension X ray on the 17th of Feb. Would the X ray show anything, or should I rather go for a rotation X ray? I live near the city of Suwałki. The most difficult to bear is for me that my head shakes often, especially when I leave my head. Now I'm almost 30 years old. I quit my job in the Netherlands to heal myself because I can't work well. My chiropractor said that I should heal my neck first, and then get to the temporomandibular joint.

In many cases, this actually can eliminate much facial pain. Some of our patients get Prolotherapy to both the neck and TMJ, but most do not need it because the neck was actually referring pain into the face and the TMJ pain subsided from Prolotherapy to the neck. Thank you so much for posting this. I have ehlers danlos syndrome and suspect instability in my neck from the MRI I had. (My brain stem is bent, probably a result from either the CCI/aai or basilar invagination or a combo of both) as someone who isn't very medically knowledgeable, this really helped explain what goes on inside of my neck.

Hannah Mac Do you have spatial consciousness problems too? It is thought the brain stem is the part of the body responsible for consciousness as well as autonomic function.
Hi Matthew, Prolotherapy stimulates the body to repair, and therefore, once the body is able to do that, it is repaired unless there is a re-injury. Then it just degenerates at the normal rate of the rest of the body. The disc issues are generally the result of the ligament laxity/joint instability. That is why we focus on resolution of the instability because that is the root cause of the problem. If you would like to talk with us more specifically about your case, please contact us directly through our website: caringmedical.com. Take care for now, and thanks for reaching out.
is there is any risk on Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency proloterapy treatment, and how long will take fill better, i this is the same that neck proloterapy
Specific positions can cause symptoms to worsen - it is likely that this is happening to you. If you are able to get a DMX this would be the best way to see instability, along with an ultrasound of your vagus nerve and IJV. If these are damaged or compressed it is likely there is instability and it needs to be treated!

We have many to use, and discuss them more in detail on our CaringMedical.com site, including the research section and the e-book Prolo Your Pain Away, which is all on the website. I am waiting for a call from hot clinic. My question is How my problem will be solved and how long it can be? Thank you
I played golf, and on swinging the driver I twisted my head and felt an electric shock and pain in my neck and head and collapsed, the following day I had balance difficulties and had the sensation of pins and needles in my right leg and foot. Now 4 years later I can hardly use my right leg or foot, and have major concentration and balance difficulties with other loss of sensation.. I have had several mri' s and each different neurologist has told me something different, from a stroke to motor neuron, and not one has considdered the injury from twisting my neck. All along I have known that there is a neck compression on nerves, and this video points to exactly that
Hi Shane, Thanks for sharing. Hi i have experience severe neck pains, back pains, headache, ear pain and nausea at time. I had a CT scan and an MIR performed. the results of the MRI were "Significant thickening of the posterior atlantoaxial ligament complex with minimal irregularity of the adjacent posterior aspect of the dens and indentation of the ventral cord at this level. This may be aggravated dynamically resulting in neurological symptoms." the doctors told me that something is wrong with my c1 and c2, the suggested i wear a collar but it just makes the pain worse. i tested negative for Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. I use to go for physio, but my orthopedic surgeon told me to stop, pls help

all these symptoms and more, recent c1 c2 aligning periodically cause highest pitched although loud pinging crack, rather than crunching and clicking like everywhere else always seems to. with the most delicate lining up this crack that feels like a whip or ping into my spinal stem, overwhelmingly scary but then feels like a guess everyone's neck (after the surges) feels like must have been out for decades and finally finding the way home abeit only temporarily only in stages as my body relearns where the alignment should be as the healing continues still rather incapacitated but enjoying getting better this what i say to myself "getting better and better in always always"

Hi Hrisi, Sorry to hear about your C2 problem. Resolving cervical symptoms non-surgically is our specialty. As this video mentions, we utilize Comprehensive Prolotherapy to strengthen the ligaments that hold the vertebrae together. We try to help as many people as we can avoid unnecessary surgery. Of course, there is a time and place for cervical spine surgery. If you would like your team to review your case in more detail, and see if you sound like a good candidate for our neck center, we wold be happy to do that. You can reach out to us directly through our website, email, or phone. Wish you all the best!
I have eds so c1-c2 and the other syndromes all over my body are common however I have not seen anyone mention whether prolotherapy can or has been used on tethered cord. I made a comment on your video about ernest, barre lieou, tmj, and eagles syndrome.

Dr. Hauser, your video of c/s kinematics is incorrect w regards to C1C2C3 rotational movement. Please do us all a favor and either remove this or correct it. There is already a ridiculous amount of bad information on the internet. Do you want to contribute to that? - Dr. English
i agree this is terribly inaccurate. The model should show C1 rotating by gliding along the superior articular facets of C2, not locked in place. - DC candidate
You should check with an upper cervical chiropractor like NUCCA it gave me my life back from post concussion syndrome.
Is Chiropractor tharapy are safe or any said effect
Did seizure come suddenly or after moving your neck up down or side ways?
I will work on posting a video talking about it and how the chiropractor taught my dad to do it.
@@fabishaikh9123 I haven't experienced any side effects. It's just making sure the vertebrae in your neck stays set the right way.
I also have suffered from low energy and depression and both have also improved greatly I am quite happy and wish I heard about it sooner.
good to hear that I want to try this method. how many sessions did you get ?
@@angelojones888 Yes I would recommend NUCCA (or Blair or Atlas Orthogonal) before prolotherapy injections it's not as expensive I understand. Try it for a year at least then do prolo if it's not working out. I'm on ten months now not sure how many sessions... I did twice a week for about two months then once a week for maybe 3 months then only once a month now.
Have you fully recovered from PCs Wes?

Excellent video, Dr.! It really gave me a good look at the segments and what happens during movement.
Excellent video!! Can't get any better then this explanation and pictures on how our c1 and c2 works. TY Well done!
Take care!

Update?
I fractured my C1 vertebrae in a fall on the evening of May 17, 2020. I was not aware I fractured anything as I was not in any pain. I was, however, paralyzed in my arms, fingers and legs. This lasted about two hours. When I could move I called an ambulance. Now, over a hear later, my right ear keeps feeling like it might have an infection but, when checked, it is always clear. Now I know wh. Thank you.
Do u have any surgery

In this video, it looks to me that most of the rotation of the head is between C2 and C3. Am I missing something?
Take care.

Can u run? Pls pls pls reply me sir,
My C2 also shifts completely too far but I don't want a surgery.
this is great information ive just started looking into things like this trying to find out a cause for my ear issues i get 2-3 times a year ive also read that this can also lead to bladder and bowel loss of control when i was thinking it was anxiety maybe its this instead i get fullness in the ear always on the left constant neck and should pain my neck cracks everytime i roll it from side to side i have tinnitus and sensitivity to sound had vertigo couple of times but haven't had that in a few years would it be a good idea to get my c1 c2 checked out.

Is it recommeded this part of the neck (or any part of the neck) should be done under the guidance of ct imaging etc.? Looks like a concern the artery could be inadvertently punctured.
Jehu303 In cases of DISH or AS, it can be fatal.
How’s your issues now?
I’m convinced this is my issue. I’ve had problems for 7+ years now. Who should I see in Louisville?
when was 8 year old I had an accident and doctors say I have a problem with my c1 c2
then they did surgery where they put a wire-like thing which is visible i x rays back then when i used
to visit doctors after surgery now i am 26 nowadays I have neck pain when sitting while leaning on my head on the sofa
for more than few minutes
and at night while i sleep pain worsens and lot of tick tack noises i hear in my neck many time
what would be your solution which is natural and helpfull
I think I got this from cracking my own neck for years a lot, plus forward head posture on my job

How often when injecting the upper cervical area do you guys feel it is necessary to take it a step further and use needle guidance(flouroscopy)?
I do have blurred vision, sensitivity to noise, intense migraine, twitching nerve in my eye, and pain throughout my neck - some tingling of my scalp - I am not a happy camper at present and due to injection later this week -
Hi j9andphoenix- if you would like our specialists to help you, we're happy to. ok I'm confused can someone please reply to me, I constantly have bad posture and I cant straighten my neck , and when I feel on the back on my neck on the sides I can feel a hard lump on under my ear on both sides , if you have bad posture can you feel the c1 on each side??
Thanks for your question. Without seeing you in person it's hard to make a proper comment on your overall posture and why you have lumps on your neck. It does sound like you may want to consider seeing someone who specializes in manual therapies who can tell you more.
+Caring Medical Regenerative Medicine Clinics hey thanks for replying, I have checked it out later that day and had an ultra sound, she said there were normal lymph nodes around the area but the hard lumps she said were bone, they feel exactly the same on each side and I an slim, I notice when I straighten my neck as best as I can the bones align in the same position as I see in photos for the neck
Sounds like you could do with a good massage and muscle stretching routine in general (something all modern day humans need but do not comply with)
Thank you so much for posting this.
Thanks for the nice comment Hannah. Hope you can find help for your neck. If you would like to talk with one of our specialists, we would love to help you. Email us on our site anytime: caringmedical.com Take care for now.
Hannah Mac Do you have spatial consciousness problems too? It is thought the brain stem is the part of the body responsible for consciousness as well as autonomic function.
How long does this treatment last?
How does it correct the initial MOI or cause of disc issues?
Sir my neck no rotatesion for left side i have mri i have ct scan but report is very good what i do but we take now therapy
Specific positions can cause symptoms to worsen - it is likely that this is happening to you. If you are able to get a DMX this would be the best way to see instability, along with an ultrasound of your vagus nerve and IJV. If these are damaged or compressed it is likely there is instability and it needs to be treated!
If I may ask, what's in the prolotherapy injections? (Does it vary?)
Hi Noelle, Yes, all of the solutions are individualized, depending on the case. We have many to use, and discuss them more in detail on our CaringMedical.com site, including the research section and the e-book Prolo Your Pain Away, which is all on the website. The ingredients are chosen based on how the body is stimulated to heal. That can include dextrose-based solutions with added fatty acids, minerals, or even our own cells like platelets and stem cells. Hope that helps. Feel free to reach out to us directly to discuss your case privately, if you have questions.
I also wondered this to see if I can find it in Australia. Your videos are spot on. I have just been told my right ligament is torn and I have POTS. I also think it could be a CSF leak or C1/C2 damage. Amazing information.
Can this cause random muscle twitches?

I feel sea-saw, pulsating feeling along with pinching and tinnitus on backside of head, nose region, behind the eyes. And there are mind pain also. What actually it is? Please help, I'm suffering from more than a year.
What's the name of the ligament being strengthened, please?
Had this condition. Weekly migraines, orbital pain, vertigo/dizziness, neck pain, chronic fatigue. Chiropractor fixed it. No need for injections/drugs.
Hi Andrew, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. It's a debilitating condition, which it sounds like you experienced a lot of the associated symptoms. Glad that your chiropractor was able to help you! Had to be such a relief. Our clinic tends to see patients who were not helped by chiropractic care, often coming to us as the next step in order to avoid surgery, medications, etc...
Andrew, What technique does your chiropractor practice? I've had the Gonstead method used on me but not quite doing the trick. Also, just curious did you by chance have any other problems like TMJ?
A chiropractic adjustment caused my symptoms. I didn’t even want a neck manipulation! Is it normal to have headaches and sub occipital pain 2 weeks after?
Hello doctor
I had been diagnosed with cervicogenic dizziness…which gives me neck stiffness headache shoulder pain…
Mild dizzy spill is the scary bit.
My ear check up has come back normal.
Pls lemme know, how can I handle this issue better.
This is great information, but also rather depressing when the country you live in doesn't offer this kind of treatment.
It’s depressing here that treatment like this don’t accept insurance and it cost so much to where people who need help can’t afford it

hi doc , i have weird vibrations what feels like internally when i rotate my neck left to right . Chiropractor did say my C1 & C7 needed help. Also buzzing feeling weird like . Is this upper cervical ?

Im from india.. my father facing same problems & he is having medicine then only get stable. Or he will be in vertigo all day. I'm very concern about it & scary also i wanna know which right doctor i have to visit please help me out with this.
Hi Cjhere, Very sorry to hear about your father's condition. Unfortunately, we do not know anyone in India to refer you to for stabilizing his C1/C2. The vertigo symptom is very common with upper cervical instability. If travel was possible in the future, we would be happy to review his case closer. We wish you the best in your search for a local provider who can help him.

I feel pain from c1 to c7 and even below shoulder blader due to which I have been low with my energy as well as normal activity and besides my temporal lobe is very painful from both sides n near eye brows looks like I have migraine and I'm using glasses too. Most things now I feel my neck is becoming heavy for me to carry now. Wat should I do
In car accident years ago and broke spine but doctors took a chip from hip bone to put it back together since then been in 2 more accidents where I had whiplash both times now it seems as if my neck is twisted and and my face points to left all the time what do you think the problem could be.
No motion between C1 and C2 isn't a good state. How do you measure?
We have amazing diagnostic testing in our office. We use cone beam, DMX and have neck vitals to help us measure and diagnose.
I am currently studying about this with the NASM corrective exercise training and what your saying makes allot of since. Thank you for putting out this information
Thanks for your kind comment. Wish you the best with your studies. Take care.

Hi - we are sorry that you are experiencing this and needing exercises. We unfortunately cannot provide any recommendations as we would not want to worsen your instability but we can suggest lifestyle changes like limiting forward head posture, draining your brain, using prism glasses when you can and getting an ergonomically effective work station!

I did an MRI on my neck last month. The MRI diagnosed an Atlantoaxial Dislocation with normal neurology. I was Hospitalized for 4 days. They did another MRI which recognized a reduction on dislocation space from 7 mm to 5.8 mm. They discharged me and recommended me a cervical collar, rest. Moreover, they reffered me to hot clinic. I am waiting for a call from hot clinic. My question is How my problem will be solved and how long it can be? Thank you
update?
Doctor I was just wondering if TMJ disorder can cause c1-c2 instability and if yes , don't we need to address that first?
Wow, that makes complete sense to us, but so sorry that you've had to deal with this for 4 years and not had any plan of action from your neurologists as far as resolving the issue. Hi
i have experience severe neck pains, back pains, headache, ear pain and nausea at time. I had a CT scan and an MIR performed.
the results of the MRI were "Significant thickening of the posterior atlantoaxial ligament complex with minimal
irregularity of the adjacent posterior aspect of the dens and indentation of the ventral cord at this level. This may be aggravated dynamically resulting in neurological symptoms."
the doctors told me that something is wrong with my c1 and c2, the suggested i wear a collar but it just makes the pain worse.
i tested negative for Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
I use to go for physio, but my orthopedic surgeon told me to stop,
pls help

hai doc im from malaysia.. What is the solution for this problem..
all these symptoms and more, recent c1 c2 aligning periodically cause highest pitched although loud pinging crack, rather than crunching and clicking like everywhere else always seems to. with the most delicate lining up this crack that feels like a whip or ping into my spinal stem, overwhelmingly scary but then feels like a guess everyone's neck (after the surges) feels like must have been out for decades and finally finding the way home abeit only temporarily only in stages as my body relearns where the alignment should be as the healing continues
still rather incapacitated but enjoying getting better
this what i say to myself "getting better and better in always always"
Wish you all the best in continued healing. Feel free to reach out to us if you would like our assistance on your case in our center in the future. Take care, mosmos.
