Very good alignment on that one. Love that fan kit. I found it and saved it . sending info to friend that has one. His is the QT 80 PRO . About 4 times carrier is what you want for best AM sound. For the PEP power. Never want to clip that carrier. That causes problems in RF section and can make splatter . I just worked 10 meter AM around the 29 MHZ . Got great reports on my QT 60. I am using a Heil Pro 6 micro headset on it. All portable with 5/8 wave wire vertical with ground radials and 4:1 UNUN . I plated with length to tune. Like 1.3 SWR . The QT 40/60/80 style radios work great portable like POTA ! I thought my Echo was on when I got that DX report from Italy. Turned out to be back scatter from solar wind getting into E layer . I was hearing it from some stations as well. Nature make a echo mike. Some great 10/11/12 meter band conditions and some strange propagation . 73
I have a couple of questions. So, to switch between AM CB and HAM radio, do I need to physically change anything? Or is it just a button? I'm coming from CB and getting my HAM license and want to do both.
Thanks again Mike, just got around to watching the videos. Great work as always. Super busy this weekend. 🎙️🎙️🎙️
Yep, Mike did my 5555 last year. Very pleased.

The radio has a dedicated VFO option so you just dial to the frequency you want.
There's also a band option, oriented in 40 channel blocks.
@ScottsRadios can you just save the channels and it automatically switches? For example channel 1-40 is cb then after that could be gmrs and ham?
@Scott’s Radios I sent you an email regarding this work on my radio. Sorry for the rambling nonsense.
Not sure if I've seen it.
Might want to resend it.
