Corvette hits deer on Hot Rod Power Tour 2023

James Duckworth from Elizabeth, West Virginia, hit a deer at 60 mph on his way to the Columbia, South Carolina stop of the 2023 Hot Rod Power Tour. The deer collided with the A-pillar of the 1999 twin-turbo Corvette. The rear of the deer came through the Corvette's passenger's side window, hitting his passenger in the shoulder.
Worst part besides the damaged Vette? His passenger found a tick on his shirt on his way to get checked out at the doc in a box. All ok, except for the deer and the Corvette. Duckworth ordered a windshield and it was to be installed the following day so he could continue his first Long Haul of the HRPT with his group of friends the "Late Haulers" group. Like-minded gear heads who aren't afraid of parking lot burnouts given the chance.
Duckworth said small pieces of glass were flaking off inside the cabin and were in his hair. It made it a challenge to drive with glass flying around.
Duckworth says, "drive the cars."
