Massively miss TUNED, That and Chris Harris' vids were the best thing on the Drive channel back in the day. Kept up with Matt and the Smoking tire since but it's simply not the same. I understand why he stopped as driving someone else's frankenstein was sketchy to say the least but if it were done in a more controlled way, like what Top gear has been doing with these episodes featuring Rob that would be great.
Hot rodding is making something with something that was meant for something else, modern hot rodding is like putting a 2j in a Nissan or a subaru or whatever. A hot rod is what eva ya want it to be using what eva parts ya get ya hands on
I love shit like this. When an amalgamation of ideas are brought together with the best parts of multiple cars to create a unique ride. My brother built his own 1928 model A roadster and cruising in that brings you the best feeling ever, even if it's bare minimum and bone stock it brings a smile to everyone's face that sees it.
I do admire the ambition and the authenticity behind the whole ratrod concept. it seems the editors of this vid could've done with blurring out the guy's whole house as it would have been easier.
This is one of the best car run downs, I appreciate the silent dialog, videos over saturate with shit music, this was so organic I felt like I was there.
It feels like it's heavily from need for speed payback with is being an F1 hotrod however, that doesn't mean anything considering that guy made it truly reality which is awesome.
My favorite build ever. My greasy fingers are trembling at the thought of this thing. My goodness I'm at a loss of words to describe my want for this thing. Phenomenal
That car is so beautiful! How awesome is that design? The air scoop and wide stance just do it for me, Ricky needs to take this on the Hot Wheels Legends tour and win so we can own it in 1:64 scale.
Agree, it looks menacing from the front then has a 99 cent store vibe in the back. That wing wouldn’t even catch the flow at that height and the scoop in the back looks like it would create more downforce than the wing lol
the video editor who edited this film must have spent a ton of time trying to blur that T-shirt, which was about like half the video frames. It would have been a lot easier if they politely asked the guy to change into a different shirt that didn't have a giant brand name on it.
That's one sexy masculine low riding beast. At 23 I brought a 79 Chevy camera and hooked it up with rear air shocks with lift valves inside trunk, leaf springs on 50 craker mags rear. Redid the exhaust for dual exhaust that ankled to the left n right of rear fenders. What made more attractive is I lived in bklyn NY and the likes and attention was sick. One day I was less then 2 blocks from home and stopped by nypd cruiser,I was like I know I wasn't speeding or broke any traffic infractions ,the cop wanted to buy it for his collection. Eventually after 4 years of ownership I caved in and he bought it for 7k,as I only paid 2k in 1983. The body was in excellent condition , put in the traditional benzy box radio( its a removable radio for those unfamiliar)last removed old transmission and put in a 4 speed hush. Ong that was my baby.
I'd say calling this a rat rod is doing it a tremendous Disservice! I remember when the render was among some choice pieces that were like crazy video game ideas, though I'm so glad this was one of the two I've seen born out of that 'library' come to life.
