I've been to countless concerts since that time, including the Stones every single time they came to the Bay Area, but never had the pleasure of seeing Led Zeppelin perform...you must have been just as thrilled to see them as I was to see the Stones, at our tender ages...surprised my parents let me go...life is wonderful! This is a great concert so many great songs and they weren’t mailing it in like they’ve done in some concerts. I’ve heard. This brings back great memories of the summer of 1966 when so many of these songs were being played on my local AM radio stations KRLA and KHJ Los Angeles.

Saw them same month in Portland Oregon. 3rd row center tickets were $4.50. Newspaper said they got $17,000 for the show, fwiw. Brian used a detuned Rickenbacker for sitar sound of Paint It Black". Superb concert when they were at their peak. Opening bands not bad either: The McCoys (Hang on Sloopy) & Standels (Dirty Water)

I did my own recording of the concert fropm the 4th row with my Japanese stereo casette deck using a stereo mic, which was a rather novel field recording technology back then. Tape has now been lost.

Based on the samplings I've heard over the years, I think the 66 touring act Stones were much better than the Beatles 66 touring act.
