I was 23 in 1978! We went to BOTH shows in Anaheim California. I’ve got stories :-) it was fun as hell! I’ve got stories! The Rolling Stones were on fire!
Being young & living in Hollywood in '78 was stellar!!! Fucking paradise!🎉 No constant surveillance - it makes an enormous difference when you've lived without it. No cell phones made life more fun. Knowing that you're being tracked and recorded all the time takes a toll.

While this version is good, it is played too fast. Shelter is better with Lisa Fischer, Sasha Allen or now Chanel Haynes doing the solo in the middle of the song.
Did you see Bill Wyman fall off the stage after the show? He spent the night in the hospital, doctors recommended he stay there and cancel the tour. Wyman checked himself out the next morning instead and played all nine remaining dates. I'm glad he did or I wouldn't have seen the Stones eight days after you did in Ft Worth. Great show.
@@DAGDRUM53 Even though we were up front (unforgettable,) I did not actually witness Bill’s fall, although we knew something was up and soon heard about it. Yeah, Great show and YoUrS was filmed! Cheers, sir. Rock on! ✌🏼
Lifelong Stones fan & in general, sounds cleanly recorded and instruments separated well. Refreshing to hear "new" stuff. Not sure about a few songs sound like in Major Keys Vs. original - SHattered & Gimmie Shelter. Maybe they were just avoiding being bored at rehersal?
I'd rather hear the Stones rehearse 46 years ago than listen to 90% of the crap groups around today on the best night they've ever played. Let's face it folks. The Golden Age is over. Welcome to the diminuendo.
DUDE, KIDS ARE HAVING A GOODIE. there is enough good stuff going on for young people to have a mighty fine time. Just like you did when you were young. BESIDES, UA-cam is the biggest music archive that humankind has ever had. There is everything: old blues stuff that inspired the Stones, more Stones bootlegs than any of us will ever be able to listen to, new stuff that has just been released like 1 minute ago and EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. And it is JUST A FUCKING CLICK AWAY and it is FOR FUCKING FREE. If you spend enough time telling the algorithm what you like and what you don't, and trying new stuff everyday, eventually the algorithm will point you in direction of GOOD stuff. Maybe 50% of it won't please you, maybe 20% will be just OK, but I guarantee you that about 20% will be good and 10% will be gold. This is the golden age baby. We are alive
I don't know if it's a best lp but the stones always in my heart and head like the iguan ( stooges) it's my youngs years who come back in my memory motel 😂🎼🎶🎙🎸🥁🪇🪗🎹🎺🎷‼️❤️❤️❤️❤️‼️😉
Übersetzter Text You think you know all the Stones songs and you only need to hear two bars to know what they are, and then you keep coming across songs in completely different versions. Unbelievable. The best band of all time.
who plays harmonica (or harp) on Cocksucker Blues? you sometimes hear Micks vocals and harmonica at the same time, so it's not Mick....maybe Ronnie as in most parts I hear only 1 guitar...any other suggestions?
later in the song, in the instrumental there are 2 guitars and the harmonica.....Mick picked up a guitar? the harmonica seems to have the same sound and licks as before
The Stones r my fav band hands down. But their take on reggae in the late 70s was horrible. I can’t hear the bass and Charlie is playing a 2-beat shuffle rather than accenting beat three. Despite Keef living in Jamaica he didn’t transfer the Rastafarian culture to the rest of the band. Great sound quality. Thanks for posting!!!
24 in 78, didn't come to Canada because Keith's legal problems so saw them in Buffalo. Remembered a thin guy long red hair sang all night in the parking lot " I've got the rolling stone blues" because he didn't have any money and no ticket. When they let us in rich stadium I looked down and there he was right infront of the stage still dancing and singing. Somebody gave him a ticket, he earned it. Fantastic show, jagger was awesome and people were throwing things at Keith which jagger put an end to fast.
Note: cocksucker blues was a song they gave to complete their contractual obligations with the record deal they had and wanted to leave. I could just see the record execs playing that for the first time.
Man the keyboards are mixed way to loud. Who was the keyboard player? And keybords on songs that are not on the originals. Shattered is ruined. The keyboard player from Faces?
I am a big rolling Stone fan. However, I still struggle many times with Mick Jagger's unpleasant singing. Just imagine if he could sing as well as Ray Davies of the Kinks
If you were in your 20s in 78 what a life around those years nothing but cool
I was 23 in 1978! We went to BOTH shows in Anaheim California. I’ve got stories :-) it was fun as hell! I’ve got stories! The Rolling Stones were on fire!
Then Reagan, the Christian Right and MTV screwed it all up
I was 13
I remember good

Yea those were the days
Fantastic! Great songs! Congratulations! STONES FOREVER!
Fantastic if you squawlling bad vocals.
@@kshepard52he actually sounds better today. I remember he sounded bad on SNL. He kills on RR circus and eary 70s tours.
Ya solos dos
It's very, very cool!😊 This is not a "voice game". C
Interesting take on Play with fire!
So excited to discover this today! So exerbetant! Blown Away by Summertime Blues!

Cool version of Summertime Blues. I was always a Who fan, but I can appreciate the Stones!👄
Thankfully no keyboards. Not polished but still cool.
Eddie Cochrane- Original or BLUE CHEER -1968 OTHER GOOD VERSIONS

Bearsville great live room....worth the trip...
even just chunkin-thru a rehearsal ~the G O A T.

I was 23 in 1978. Great time to be that age . Price to that show in Anaheim CA @ the “ BIG A” was $ 12.
Remember all the shoes that got thrown on stage
great sound , thanks.
Awsome, all those forgotten records.
Fantastic.....!!!....thank you.....!!!
I was sixteen in 1976, Cleveland stadium, rolling Stones and jay Giles $10.50
Me too, 16, what a great time to grow up, I bet that was a great experience
I was 16 in 1976 and I Saw the 4 Stones concerts in Paris. And I Saw them at Emi Studios Boulogne december 78 during Some Girls sessions
That's what's up..seen them twice
Pits cleveland 15th june
Beautyful!!!!!!👍
O and of course Stones were a big part of making those years great
What a gem.
My sister and I attended Day on the Green #3 at Oakland Coliseum, on July 26, 1978, where we all celebrated Mick's 35th.
LAST SATURDAY I HEARD THIS ALL NIGHT LONG, ...AND IT WAS SO WONDERFULL... to a rolling stone like me...❤😊 Fantastic! -from Brazil-
Great 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was20 in 78 🎉. Born in 58 and I wouldn’t change a thing 😂. 🤘🏽
Splendor and golds of a brilliant era, not yet definitively over 💋
Always wanted to hear Gimme Shelter in 78.....they didn't play it live between the mid seventies and late 80s
While this version is good, it is played too fast. Shelter is better with Lisa Fischer, Sasha Allen or now Chanel Haynes doing the solo in the middle of the song.
cool, stoned and always in a blues, rock, reggae or funky groove - love the Stones!
Que bueno es esto !!!
Superb! Like you’re there! Saw them a month or so later, 10 July ‘78, St.Paul MN…the rehearsals “took.” Promise!👊🏼 (that time I WAS there!😉✌🏼)

Saw em jfk stadium in Philly 78 honestly was not impressed
Rolling Stones é uma dor que se cria para curar outra.
Caught the '78 tour in Cleveland; unfortunately they only played one of these songs.
A great álbum!
Thanks!

This version of Prodigal Son is cool as s*** sounding. It reminds me of Son House or something.
Very interesting, so used to the song being slow.
This comment is spot on - the Stones really knew (know) their blues
My dad the remote for the dc concert
Muy bueno!!!!
Awesome!! I personally like "Summertime Blues."
Sounds like a really nice bootleg.
I have a few bootlegs and this one is great quality 😂❤
Amazing

No MT . . Sadly !
i was 23 years old...great time to be young...dope laws were crazy....but we did okay.....hahaha!!!
The Electric Piano makes Gimme Shelter sound way too happy XD
Even when it's sloppy.
Or filled with wrong notes and missed changes. It's still historic.
Saw them 3 years after at Candlestick park then most recent at Levi stadium. They put on a helluva Zumba class😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Extremely rare first song here…recording quality is great
6:50. Fun version
The Stones never lost their mojo, what a stupid thing to say!
I turned 30 in 1978

Why am I hearing three guitars on Shattered?
Mick played too around that time
Or keyboards
yeah its Mick

Sounds like a mix of rockabilly. One of the better mixes on this messy rehearsal. The up front keyboards are shit
You're daft.
Nicky Hopkins on keys?
more likely Ian McLagan or Ian Stewart.

wish they would have taken the chuck berry tunes and temptations out of the set list and used a few of these songs for the concerts....

Ian McLagan was on the 78 and 81 tours.
In 78 I was 15 and ain't showinya. My I'd. 🎵🎶
Sounds like a jam at open stage night at 4 am after way too much booze
Stones still had the magic here ,Some Girls was the last great album they released ,after this they lost their mojo

once again this proves Mick Taylor should never have left the band
Indeed.
Mick n avait pas l âme stonienne à mon avis. Cela ne reste que mon avis.
needs more Mick Taylor

What the fuck is up with the piano on Tumblin' Dice?
snuck a commercial in to ruin - thanx
Pay for Premium UA-cam or shut the f up
Jagger at his worst. I'm surprised Keith let him get away it.
