You guys have your priorities straight. Please don't feel the need to apologize for NOT devoting all of your time and energy to producing youtube content. Family first. Having said that, nice to see you back!!
Exactly - we all know what it's like to have projects hanging over us - and then the fantasticness of getting them done and enjoying - AND it's quite useful for all of us to see it, know it's the same for everyone...learn some tips for getting back in the groove :)
@@sroberts605 Anyone who had gone through a major life upheaval, and not get burnt out, worn out, feed up...is not being honest. Looking forward to the build.
When we first started watching UA-cam homesteading families we thought “what a life! They do their chore, video it, and get paid for it.” It wasn’t until we started our own UA-cam adventure that we realized how hard it is to do everything. ..it’s not easy. So good for you guys for getting up and moving forward even though it’s overwhelming!
It really is a lot of work! But it’s the best life. ❤️
Absolutely agree! You really are showing people a better way. We love this homesteading community!
It has been so long, but remind us what is going on with the mobile home.
Maybe you should do solar right away.
Half a step forward is still forward. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. So for now, pick things up and put them down. Lol
Sorry couldn't help myself.
I myself have several physical issues that make me wonder how I'm going to do things.
Well I worry about crossing the bridge when I get there right now I can't even see the bridge. That will always be a lot on your plate. Just stay focused and don't forget to breathe. Remember this to shall pass. Meghan keep smiling. as long as she's happy Ben you'll be fine. God bless you all.
You guys can do it. You are looking at it wrong. You said " its been two years since you left California and this is all the farther you have gotten". You have only been on your homestead 6 months. You had a TON of clearing & cleaning up & out all of the trash, tires and junk. Besides getting a mower running and doing the fields & yard. Setting up Bumblewood and fixing everything for Ben's shop too. Then you had to empty the pod, get chickens, create a coop & run. Build a stall and set up for your pigs. Get fencing and set that up. Get more chickens and mobile fencing. Clear land & plant a garden, set up raised beds, and plant those. Then build a firepit and a smoker. You helped friends, went to conferences, went back to California, went to Disney, emptied your storage unit, loaded and sent your POD to North Carolina. Helped friends 3 more times. Fixed water, set up your camper & got it ready for winter, worked on the single wide trailer a few times. Cleared more brush, made berries into jam. processed your garden goods. fixed meals everyday. Repaired things around the homestead, set up the boys pool. Made tons and tons of soap, processed chickens. processed orders for soap. Celebrated holidays. Do you really think you haven't gotten much done in ONLY 6 MONTHS !?! It wears me out just typing ALL that you have gotten done. I'm so very PROUD of all the work you have done on your homestead in SUCH A SHORT 6 MONTHS. Please go slower, PACE yourselves, this is not a SPRINT. Homesteading is a marathon, it takes a lifetime. We all want everything done, organized, built, and pretty. But it can't happen in a week, you are not GOD. Slow down, take breaks, buy a little here & there for a project, then when you have it all, do that project. There is no shame in not having ton's of money or an unfinished project. You are just getting started. Baby steps, just like the baby does to walk. After a few years you can run.
Denise Wilson I wish I could like this 1000x! I hope Meg and Ben read your comment.
Thank you Julie B. Like I posted & I've told Ben & Meg in many posts they are kicking butt on getting things done on thier homestead. If I had been able to start my homestead when I was going to we would have been starting at the same time. Deaths have stopped me. But I have been cheering for Meg & Ben. Trying to let them know that they have been working like gangbusters getting things done. If it was my homestead I would still be at square #1. I hope they realize they are FAR ahead of the game.
Yeeesssss!!!
Denise Wilson : Extremely well said!! It started to wear me out just reading your accomplishments.....
One project you need to get up and running is an inflexible daily 15 minute block of time to just sit down together and breathe. It will help save your sanity and possibly your lives. No cheating, 15 min. Without fail. Love from N.H., Patricia 👵🏻 🤗 🥰
Very well said! They have got so much done is such a short amount of time its insane. I've been on my homestead for 3 years and havn't even got animals yet.. Still trading wood for meat and trying to stay warm in an unfinished house. Though I do understand that it is hard to pace ourselves in the beggining. I have 6 months of winter to slow me down. If I didn't have 3 feet of snow pacing me down, god knows how much more I woud be doing around the homestead. I think I would burn out for sure.
Why is everyone trying to explain themselves for not making videos or working on their projects. You have four kids!!!!!! You do not need to rush anywhere. You are doing better on UA-cam than ever.….
Ilzite K , exactly! Thank you for saying what I was thinking!
Ben and Meg, this isn’t a UA-cam race, and there is no “finish line” - your homestead will always be a work in progress, something else you want to change, a new project you want to tackle, or whatever. You don’t have to do it all at once. Do it at your own pace, you don’t owe anyone an explanation, and remember you are already living that life worth living! Your supporters will watch whatever content you do provide, and continue to encourage and support you! Much love from the Green Mountain 🏔 State 💚💚
Jennifer Carly THIS!
When I first moved into my new home, it took a whole year to fix it up. New flooring, countertops, painted cabinets, painted walls and decor. The next year, I focused on the garden. Year three, I got chickens. I’m going on year four and it’s now starting to feel like the homestead I envisioned. There is no rush. You all have done so much already. Pigs, chickens, landscaping and garden prep, UA-cam and you’re running a business from your home...dude, you’re busy. Oh and homeschooling! That’s A LOT already. Take your time. ❤️❤️
My family and I bought a rural homestead. It took eight months of hard back breaking work I did myself with no help from others. Built the kitchen cabinets from scratch and fixed thirty feet of foundation not to mention all new plumbing ,new bathrooms ,new drywall and paint. What a huge pain in the butt but it was definitely worth it. Good luck!!🍀
I know things can get discouraging but ....I see so much progress from when you first arrived! Be proud of what you've accomplished!
Don’t get discouraged! It’s taken us 4 years to get our mobile home finished (debt free). All we have left is carpet and trim. Hallelujah! Y’all got this! 💪🏼
Winter is all about taking a step back and recovering! Happy to know you’ve gained your energy back :)
You guys have accomplished SO much! You really are an inspiration! I'm excited to watch your progress on the trailer 😊 Good to see the boys again! (at the end of the video).
I'm very grateful to hear it when "living the dream" has real challenges and problems. A lot of channels conceal these. Thank you for sharing your burnout. I want to do this myself and want to have realistic expectations.
As a home builder/remodeler it has been my experience with situations similar to yours that if you work on completing a bathroom first and then the kitchen. Life could quickly become more comfortable for your family. It may even help you find more motivation to finish the rest of the house at a quicker pace! Either way, yall are awsome!
So right Jeremy Roberts! I've done my fair share of remodeling. If you have your bathroom and the kitchen you can survive, and even thrive. It makes life so much easier and enjoyable. Food for the belly, a place to take a bubble bath or a steamy shower, and a throne to do some thinking on. LOL
I feel ya! We moved into our house 3 years ago and there is STILL stuff needing be done. No judgement here! It takes lots and LOTS of patience and sanity.
Good job boys! You’re such good helpers!
I'm so happy you took the time you needed to renew your energy and interest. Please! Keep doing so...as often as you need to.
"How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!" You guy got it this. Work, laugh, make memories with the boys. Exciting watching the progress as you go. Keeping all of you in my prayers 💕
One thing most people may not know, is that they whole time you were on the road, you worked almost everywhere you stopped.
That's 1 thing I admire and respect about ya'll.
Glad you took the time you needed. Stay healthy and stay excited. Missed you but totally understand. Nothing is worth your sanity and peace. “Red Poppy Farm” faced the same situation of having so much to do and trying to decide what to do first. He made a list on a whiteboard every time he started a new project. Draw a line through completed steps. Helps you to look backward at how much you have accomplished rather than being overwhelmed by what there is left to do. A sense of accomplishment is what you need not a burden of what needs to be done. You have already accomplished so much. Take pride in that and pat yourselves on the back. GREAT JOB! P.S. Start this list for the mobile home with each step you have done (including clean up you just did.). Draw line through each accomplishment so you can feel that you are moving forward. Maybe this will relieve the pressure. Could also help the kids see progress. I’m sure they feel it the same as you do. Could help everyone keep up the excitement
That's right, Heath is a hard worker too. But he didn't stay organized or feel he was accomplishing things. So, he made his list for his project at hand. As he did the steps he drew a line thru them. When that project was thru, he erased the board & put up the next steps to the new project. He said he is easily distracted and this helped to keep him focused. Love Heath & Cedar at Red Poppy Ranch.
Nice to see the boys again! 💕
I feel ya! I've been working on my remodel since Jan. 1, 2007 - yes, 13 years. Someday I'll have a kitchen again... but, I've done it as I've had the money and, like you, there are other things that come up and you just walk away sometimes. Hang in there. This is the year we'll BOTH get our homes finished... dang it... lol...
I think you guys are wonderful with your photography! I loved the closeups in the beginning and I’ve noticed that in your other videos! Excellent! They remind me of what is truly important....the simple things!
Good for you a reset is always worth it!
You got this Holler Homestead!🤘🏻♥️🌱
Those cabinets are Farmhouse chic! Keep them they’re beautiful at least that last one!
Considering the epic scale of what you set out to do, I’m only ever impressed.
Just the garbage on the land that you have had to tackle.....that has been astounding (for several reasons).
Then add 4 kids who are homeschooled, 2 pigs with litter, lots of chickens, and not one house but three to manage organize clean renovate, plus two home businesses, a massive garden, a need for infrastructure updates all over the place. All with a tight budget... oh, and let’s not forget to top all that off with a dedicated homesteading UA-cam channel and all the editing and media involved. All this over holidays and middle of the “dormant season of rest”.
I mean, wow.
As long as you are having fun, taking time, feeling good about what you’re up to, I will enjoy watching.
I would even love to see a video with you just knitting by the fire. Making knives. Etc.
So long as the filming itself is fun. Ultimately.. what I’m trying to say is... have fun!
Your smiles are what bring me back watching.
I just want y’all to know that I started watching y’all about 5 months ago and you are absolutely my favorite UA-cam channel. Love y’all
We've done it four times. You can do it!! It's all part of the journey. Take a breath and take another step. ❤️❤️
We as viewers are heavily invested in the wonderful snippets we see of your life you so generously shared. The idea of a rural homesteading life is both a romantic and healthy lifestyle changes are the dreams of our futures as the idea of returning to the simple lifestyles of our forebears. However starting from scratch on undeveloped land that has been partly cleared and used as an extensive rubbish dump by the previous owners is a challenge. Reality bites when the existing buildings prove to be considerably more problematical than expected.
Adding to the stress is the need for 6 people to live in an older RV through the varying seasons whilst following a home school education plan. And of course there are your two businesses to reopen as well.
In addition finances are limited as 2019 was the second optional unemployment following 2018 spent travelling USA looking and working for other You Tubers.
If you added up the scores on life stress test it would be heading to the danger zone.
I am glad you recognised and addressed the fatigue and blues and acted on those quickly. Yes we relish the vlogs but we will understand if these are not priority one. We will be grateful for the times your share as we follow the changes ahead. Thinking of you daily. Warm wishes and hugs sent from”down under”.
Everyone: “Why aren’t you working on the house?”
You: “Because we want to burn it to. the. ground.”
😂😂 I feel ya. Like, seriously. I just took a two week break from my job and my ministry internship because I was burning out after the emotional and physical load after Dad dying. It was so so good.
Your mental and spiritual health is so so important. Don’t ever ignore them.
❤
Josiah Merz Just prayed for you. Condolences for loosing your dad.
Great timing of this video! I’m 63 and living this. (A couple of months ago when my husband asked if I needed anything else from Lowe’s I asked for lots of matches!) 😂
A few months ago we sold our condo and bought a “lovely” house in the country to fix up a little, retire in and garden. We could easily remodel and clean it up.
HA! Didn’t happen! Oh my!
As we started remodeling we discovered mold and such shoddy workmanship that for the past three months we have done nothing but professional mold remediation and demo. The mold remediation company took only a few days. Their demo started a cascade of discovery of wildly amazing, horrifically shoddy, and indescribably bad workmanship leading to more demo.
I’m learning to be grateful to God each day for the strength and skill He has provided as we bring this house to the beautiful place God has given us.
Ecclesiastes 3 has been helpful to me. It basically says that there’s a time for everything, He makes all things beautiful in His time, and to take joy in our toil because it’s a gift from God.
And I see this as a genuine gift. You see, a few years ago I had a bad reaction to medication that caused a type of stroke. For months I was too weak to do anything more than just making it through the day. This past week we put down about 800sq feet of new 5/8 inch subfloor and now I’m laying flooring while my husband is at work. God renewed my strength. And this shoddy, messed up house is actually a testimony of what He has done for me. Didn’t even realize it till this very second! Such a blessing!
I have so much respect and admiration for you both. Most of us watching can commiserate with you both! In October of last year we paid someone to put a brand new septic system in and septic field. ( Homeowner who sold us the house forgot to mention it was done for! ) So, after paying the plumber and septic company 7k we thought everything was good to go. We later found out that they had hooked in only one bathroom into the system and that left the other one and our kitchen still hooked to the old system. Needless to say, it has been a battle to get them to come back out and finish the job as they are saying that it was our fault. LOL!! The Plumber and Septic company never looked at the entire house to see how many lines needed to be hooked up but it was our fault. Can't make this stuff up.
We all probably know your pain, one way or another!
Keep moving forward and take one day at a time. What you have is worth more than all the money in the world and in the end, once you are done with your home, you will have gained far more than you lost.
Sending much love and prayers for divine intervention!
Saw this video pop up and I dropped everything to watch. Ya'll are one of my favorite UA-cam channels! I really respect the pay as you go method, but something to think about is that living through construction is extremely stressful, even for resilient people such as yourselves. The longer your construction project drags on, the more it can weigh on you. You are very good-hearted, conscientious people and I bet that if you did a GoFundMe as mentioned by a previous commenter, that you would be able to raise your funds, and pay it forward doing good for others..........just something to think about. I would definitely be in for that. You have given me so much happiness and joy watching these videos that it would be a privilege to get to support you continuing to make videos!
I would like it if they got a Go Fund Me acct. They need one. It would help so much!!
Go fund tales a pretty big cut from funds raised PayPal friends and family doesn’t take much of any I think
I disagree. This is their choice. Many ppl live within their income, like myself and its not anyone else's responsibility to create income for them. When did living within your income become a "problem" to be overcome? They don't have the money to build what they want now, End of story. They chose to have kids, they chose to not have day jobs, they chose all of this. It doesn't have to be good, bad, virtuous or penance, it just is. If everyone asks to be crowd funded, less and less ppl with give. My two cents. Building a homestead from the rubble up is a lifetimes work. Ask Joel Salatin and every pioneer who cam before him.
@@otherwiseoutside Agreed 100%. Pay-as-you-go is an important lesson for their boys to learn. Patience, self-denial, priorities, working out problems, maintaining your marriage, these are all things than boys need to see as they grow up.
Well said othetwiseoutside! I completely agree! Gofundme a cats are more for catastrophic events and unexpected things out of your control.. This is just Ben and Megan's life choice, and it's fun to watch their journey. Many, many people are trying to live debt free and we understand that this lifestyle takes TIME and work to get where you want to be, but it's all worth it.
God bless one day at a time! Little by little you'll get there! Keep the faith!
Having been where you are now....visual measurability gives instant emotional gratification. That being said, make a list. A simple ticker list of all the things you have done, and all the things left to do. Keep it general. Park and stabilize travel trailer. Connect electric, establish water source, get pod delivered, empty pod. Chicken run, you get the idea. Put a line through the things that are done. Celebrate the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, makes with a special cake ice cream floats, movie and hot chocolate. Leave the list where you can see it. Start a second list to post next to first. Second list is just a list of the extras. Pick up chickens, new engine installed in lawn mower, 5 trees planted, 1st garden planted, 1st garden harvested, 1st Christmas on homestead. It will add up quick and you will be amazed at all you achieved.
We’re praying & cheering you on Holler family. Hang in there with life’s challenges. We love ya! 🙏♥️😊
Whoops, Hollar!
It’s hard to do everything especially when you’re doing it debt free!! You’re doing a great job and burn out is totally normal. Hopefully you took the time you needed!
Keep looking at the bright side, you're not stuck in a 9-5 job! Keep up the good work 😀
One step at a time guys, you are doing great. That's a lot of stuff for one plate. Take it one thing at a time and you will be finished before you know it. God bless and your in my prayers.
Wear a mask when you tear the floor so you dont breath in any bad stuff since no one knows what crap could be there.
I am praying for and cheering all of you on!
“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory “ Philippians 4:19 And as a widow for past 7 plus years He has told me I CAN do this . Living alone on 15 acres with large garden .How awesome that you have this willing family team ! Have fun . Obey His guidance .
Good for you for slowing down. Family is most important, other wise what was the point of ever leaving Cal. Am now in my upper 60's, have never married or had children. Fully realize what I have missed. Live each day with your family to the fullest, they are your number 1 priority. God Bless you all.
Wow they gave you some beautiful cabinets
Great job, big people & little people! You all are such an inspiration! God's blessings on you and your family!
Little by little, one step at a time and we are with you all the way
Prayers for y'all ,your house, property & all your
projects! Much❤ Love
& God Bless!👍🏻🙏🏻😇🙏🏻❤😘😘😘😘
Y’all need to remember the reason you started this journey. Renew your love being connected and being in the same room you make eye contact and words are not necessary and those sons. I recently lost the love of my life to a tragic accident, my best friend, my husband of 50 years. No matter how long it takes it’s your dream cherish every moment of it. May God Bless your family.
🙏💙
That was great. No one likes cleaning but "speed cleaning" now that was awesome and inspiring. Keep up the good work. God Bless!
I love y'alls optimism. All of the trials y'all have had yet you can still smile and acknowledge when you need to take a step back. Y'all are in my prayers!
just breath my dear and keep dreaming on about your trailer. I'm sure it going to look beautiful. take it slow and enjoy the fruit of your labor. no rush
Go Hollars, go💖🙏💪🎉
Bless your hearts you have been hurry, hurry, hurry, run, run, run for months!! I know you're anxious to be FINISHED, but slow and steady is good, too!!
You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. I am praying for you. Love you guys. I still am about a yr. Away from finally leaving So. Calif. And moving up to N. Idaho and buying my properry and starting my own homestead
Never stopped praying....admire y’all and your hard work, your ethics, your honesty, your openness in sharing at the food conference you attended, so I send to you now ....courage to face the floor, encouragement to take one day at a time, and to help you remember what you have accomplished in the months on your homestead...God bless you abundantly in the weeks ahead...BUT remember family first!
Hi and rich Blessings on y'all. Meg, your editing is brilliant. I think you're doing a wonderful job with all the videos but this one was so fun to watch, that as you grabbed a quick lunch, I was totally lol. Please don't let the naysayers wear you down, they think explanations are excuses.. I do think giving a pay pal link would be helpful too, since there are a lot of us out here who really want to support your efforts, just cuz we want to dear. I know I personally get a lot of joy watching and the entertainment value is worth while too. Prayers and remember, "Inch by inch, lifes a cinch, Yard by yard it's very hard." "Fortune favors the BOLD." Ben is a wonderful example for the boys to emulate. Keep on keeping on, YOU Beautiful People.
We bought a farm too, moved from a mega city to the country and had to redo the farm house before we could live in it. Lived in a camper with our 4 kids.... Thought we had good bones.... 🧐 What could go wrong did on levels we never imagined did. Ugh. In the mean time we have gardened, and raised animals and kids and 2 Christmases. It's a lot and you have to weigh quality of life with all the work that is always there. Oh to live from a place of maintenance. Yes please Jesus. 🙏Not yet though. It's not the season. Ecclesiastes. Everything has a season. And each hurdle as my aunt would say... You are making memories 🥰
This kind of gut-to-the-studs reno is just like a big Jenga game! One false move & things come tumbling down! Stopping to rebalance, spend family time, and get a new-new plan was necessary! Each next step is another step toward your goal (even if it seems like a teensy weensy baby step! You guys can DO THIS!
Please remember to let the Holy Spirit show you balance, when to work and when to rest and be satisfied on your journey to be in the hands of a loving Lord who provides all our needs according to his riches and glory! Prayers!
1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
We had a storm related power problem here last winter. Large oak limb fell on the line to our temporary power pole (we're building the house, living in a travel trailer ;) ) and pulled our pole down. Power didn't go out, but a live line down on the ground across our path to the driveway, etc. Lineman came out, confirmed it was a hot wire but not compromised so 'safe'. He got the limb cleared off of it and his job was done. Power pole is ours, our problem to get it back up. Took me a couple of days, but I got it back and got it tightened up so the line's much higher than it had been. One way or another, this life teaches skills we never thought we would need ;)
You guys are fabulous! You have done more than most ppl even DREAM of doing. Y'all are our heroes.
I wish I could be right with you tilling & working with your garden. If anyone has had a garden (or pond for me) they know how relaxing it is & the rest of the peeps need to get one to work in!
We are hanging with you whether you're resting or working! Blessings will abound & y'all will have great stories to tell! Prayers & grace to you every day! Love 💜💜💜
I have been watching you guys just before you purchased this land and I actually enjoyed the animal videos the pigs and the chickens and the gardening you'll get that trailer done and good time don't worry about anybody do it at your own pace good job guys you have a lot on your plate
Retrofitting sure is a ton of work. It was literally blood, sweat and tears when we built our foreclosure up from the studs. We're cheering you on because we've been there. Even the little successes will keep you going. One of the hardest steps is just getting the ball rolling. You can do it!
Keep plugging along guys. My wise old mom told me nothing good comes easy. praying for you guys.
You can do it! 💖💖💖 You gotta live your best life now, or else, what's the point? Cheering you on from the Midwest👏👍
"WE WANT TO BURN IT YO THE GROUND!"
I felt that from the bottom of my tiny cabin compound soul. I love how much y'all share about your journey, your budget priorities, and just the way you are... normal? Normal to me anyway. Keep on trucking! You're inspiring at least one half-assed homesteader!
Prayers!
You are doing good and to organize before you move it. To keep things in order. Once you get into ripping out the floors you will find your groove. Keep up the good work Dont get discourage. I 🙏🎈🎈🎈
I hope you dont give up!!! The potential of that place is wonderful!!!
I am going to be replacing the last of the flooring that needs replaced in my trailer this spring after I get my trailer moved to my land. I can totally empathize with your situation!
Take the time. We will miss the video s, and pray for you and your sanity. God is good, think where you were, where your going. Prep for moving forward. Do all with a thankful heart.
Sending supportive thoughts and prayers. Good job taking a break. :) the ongoing (unending?) projects of a fixer upper can really get to you.
Sorry about the power hassle 😠🔌 But yay for spring cleaning! 🧹You did a great job! 🙌 Glad you feel like doing stuff again. Take it easy though, to avoid burning out again. I know what I’m talking about, I was burnt out and depressed a few years ago, and was home sick for a year. And right now I’m fighting against crashing again.
So glad you're taking care of yourself, took a break. For me it's I left Facebook and said no to as much as I could. I feel better and I'm glad you're back.
I think you have your plans sorted, kids first, relax and time down! I find that writing a plan with a calendar so you can get your Reno’s and garden and livestock organized works well! This helps get you motivated after and gives you a chance to relax when you stay on plan! Remember not to over plan! Good luck and I’m looking forward to watching the Reno! Nancy from Canada
Yep can so relate. We've been juggling around on our property while we've been building on site, debt free the last three years. What you find is priorities change on the fly and to not get discouraged when it doesn't all go as planned! Best of luck, you got this!!
Keeping your eyes focused on the important...your family. Love seeing you again. Praying for you.
I love y'alls story and I couldn't imagine being on the road for that long and then jumping right into a farm and building a house like y'all have. You guys are doing great and it'll get done when y'all get to it. Overwhelming yourselves with all of the tasks and pushing yourselves so hard can take such a toll so I'm glad y'all have had the chance to step back and take your time!
The breakfast burritos look sooooo good. We like them so much we had some for dinner last night. LOL every once in a while we have breakfast for dinner. Yummy!
The first step is the most difficult but I have no doubt that once you begin the process of finishing up your manufactured home rebuild and make some progress you will become more enthusiastic, You did the correct thing by taking a break and now it's time to complete the job. I enjoy your video's so very much, so hang in there, God Bless you all!
I know the feeling!!! We built our own homestead debt free, and are still doing it the same way. We save and then do things in bursts -- but there's always something that can be done with what we have. I wind up making some major 'cleaning' videos here and there as well 😊 -- just do things at your own pace!!!
We are just now starting to put our Mobile home back together after two years , its hard on us we live 1-1/2 hour away from our home now and we are the same way putting it back together as we can get the money its so hard so take a breath and start again but one good thing we dont owe one penny on our Farm it payed for its self in 10 Months so keep up the good fight and good luck
We doing the same in my mobile home at 1 1/2 hour away. We complete everything outside now working in the inside this the 2 year but everything is pay .
Must be tough being that far away from the home you need to work on, a 3 hour round trip, The Hollar's are so lucky to be only a few steps away from their work project. Good luck with your homestead.
@@michellejaggard9657 Yes it is a trip but we will make it, we have had our share of set backs but we are still moving forward we hope to moved down there in the next year or so
When you start your home build you guys will get motivated and be happy to see your progress
I feel guilty sitting on my living room couch watching you work! Should be helping! There is so much satisfaction watching you clear out that room and getting ready for flooring. I love how it's coming together and how you are honest with us about how hard it is. It is inspiring. As Jess on Roots and Refuge says.. "we can do hard things". All you guys are a testimony of that to me and the seemingly impossible things I am facing in my life. Thank you for keeping on. Xo
No worries, the projects will always be there! take you time and enjoy the journey! blessings and sunshine always!
It's good you guys took a long break cause when you get to burnt out thing's never get done so lots of Prayers for you and just imagine how nice it's gonna be when it's done..Keep on pushin!!!
My prayers and cheers go out to yall. Just do what you like and fit the "chore" projects in whenever it feels right for you. Love Yall. You have accomplished so much in such a short time. You both and the boys deserve some medals. You have healthy beautiful animals, gardens prepped or soon to be prepped, acreage cleared, knives made, soap made, youtube addressed, holidays celebrated, smokers made, gorgeous children schooled and on and on and on. Wow. Consider yourselves major impressive to everyone (ignore the haters). Have it great.
Sometimes you just got to do the stuff you don’t like to get to where you want to be. We had lots of high ceilings to paint when we moved into our old farmhouse (I hate painting ceilings) but oh the joy when they were finished. All things will pass, just dig deep and crack on with it.
Just keep walking, talking and breathing! Spring the growing seasons gonna be here soon! Love you all, stay strong.
Your a great family and are doing so much give your self grace and enjoy the joy in what your doing. You have a homestead and we are all so proud of you. You will get to your goal!!!
Stay strong you guys! I totally understand your frustration. We have had plenty of one thing after another, one more obstical. But As I am sure you know it is also a perfect opportunity to show your boys how to roll with things and not give up! Praying for you
We are here, cheering you on and praying for you!! We are replacing subflooring as well in 2 of our rooms because of water damage we had 2 years ago. sometimes life keeps you too busy and you just have to do what you can. love and prayers.........Patti
I will pray for you!!
Do you know, Meg and Ben, I'm in awe at all the things you've both already accomplished on your homestead - and doing everything while looking after, and schooling, your boys, too!
Please don't push just because a few viewers are too impatient to wait until you have the time to put up vlogs!
Saying that, I'm looking forwards to seeing you tackle that floor! Lol
Whenever you post, it'll be a huge privilege for us all to keep sharing in your lives, and it really doesn't matter if you have to take time out from youtube to accomplish stuff that's i mportant to you, if not us - you defo don't want to be burnt out before you even begin again! :)
All the best to you both, and your boys :)
You are wonderful one thing at a time . Family first
Prayers, Hugs
When I have large and overwhelming projects I take a minute and list it out. That way at the end of the day I can check things off the list. For example today spring cleaning, check. That way I break it down into small goals instead of one overwhelming project. And don’t forget you have accomplished so much since the first day you bought the property. You are doing
You’re doing great keep up the great work and love the burrito
I'm so glad y'all took a bit of a breather to clear your heads. I was glad to see the cooking in the first few minutes of this video. I remember when y'all were on the road watching those wonderful meals being prepared. Makes me hungry. And don't worry, we are praying for you.
I completely understand where you are coming from with wanting to burn it to the ground lol. We bought a very neglected house and we knew it was bad but had no idea that it was as bad as it really was. We ended up having to replace 75% of the floor joists and part of the main support under the house then had to jack up a corner of the house that was completely crumbling from rot. It took a lot longer than we had planned and we (my dad and myself did most of the work) threaten to burn it down most days lol. Hang in there. My family and I now have a beautiful home and it was worth it in the end. God bless
Praying for you and your handsome family to be safe, strong and healthy through the process of remodeling! LOVE watching you cook! 🥰
You all are awesome, stay strong because when you are done, your heart will be so happy and the home and homestead will be amazing....
I’m so glad to see the home Reno start back! Just know that I am praying for y’all and I’ll be your cheerleader cheering you along! 🙏❤️🙏
