I don't want to wear gloves either. However, I'm normally using my powerchair and when in my manual chair, the push rims are quad-friendly. The quad-friendly gloves that I've seen seem very big and bulky. My hands/fingers are in more of a fist than yours, so it limits my options, which is why I don't wear gloves.

Lol been using the hatch wheelchair gloves with topy palms for over 6yrs. Best gloves ever. Thanks for sharing this video helped kill the curiosity of the other gloves.

I used the hatch quad gloves when I could use my manual chair and left the top Velcro section fastened when I put them on. My fingers would go through when still curved or I could lay my hand flat on the inside of the glove, on the curved fingers palm down with the glove on my leg and pull my hand back just far enough to let the friction from the inside of the glove to uncurl them and then slide into the fastened top half. It was a lot easier for me to get them on only dealing with the bottom section of the Velcro. My thumbs were loose and getting into the thumb wasn't much of an issue after practicing. It was great to see a comparison of all the different gloves.

Hi, from France ! Nice vid, well done and very interesting. Same problem here (C6 quadriplegic) and same solution (hatch quad push gloves). I use conveyor belt rubber for the inside (when it's worn out) and I have another pair with leather inside, less slippery when the weather is rainy.

Thanks for the tip Thierry. Conveyor belt rubber sounds interesting. I will check into that.

I used the Push Ease/MechPro for half fingered gloves for years until they quit making them. They had a great grip in the palm and were gel padded. I've yet find a glove that grips well since. Also I use my wrist to help stop so I wear wrist bands to help keep my skin from burning off. I use the BLAX push rims so they'll eat up your wrist quickly.

Thanks for your comments John. I agree the Blax pushrims will tear your hands up if you aren't careful. I really like the thick pushrim covers I have on my wheels which allows me to do without gloves most of the time and be more aggressive with wrist braking.

Cool variety of gloves. what I have done, actually one of my PT's, was but a pair of football receiver gloves. they are super sticky and great for pushing. wide range of prices too. I even cut the fingers off, leaving the thumb, to make them easier to put on and off. ( they last longer when you leave the fingers on though LOL)

Hi Rich. Yeah those receiver gloves look pretty cool. It's great that those work well for you. Also, since they are widely available it is convenient if you need to roll down to the store and get a replacement. Thanks for sharing.

richard ruehle Met a guy who wore receivers gloves when playing quad rugby. They worked great for that! And were a lot more durable than the ones with the blue rubber palms.

Hi Joe the company that makes the red palm push gloves in my video is Melrose wheelchairs. The link is posted above. Send them an email and I'm sure they can work something out. Best of luck.

Abilitease, I`m very pleased, and grateful for your pointer. Annoyingly, they don`t ship to Europe, I`m in Belfast Ireland. I use black ones, but, they`re $70+ I dunno why they (Melrose) don`t include us across the pond. Thanx anyway, and if you come across a company that ships to Europe, give me a shout please. I`d contact prez Trump if I thought he`d push for sales overseas. lol Thanx mate. ps. We do so much with our teeth, to get through a day. x

My fingers are really curved so I cut the fingers on gloves which isn't the best, but it works.

Hello F.B. The key word being "works" which allows you to do what you need to do. However, I'd be interested to know your thoughts on how a pair of gloves could be redesigned to suit your needs. Thank you for sharing.

Hey my wheelchair bro listen I bought the Melrose quad cuff gloves the one that comes down past the wrist good ones but I work at Home Depot and I'm pushing without a smart drive so I'm burning through them in a 3 to 4 months so the active hand gloves the last one that you had do you think those have better grips than the ones from Melrose
