    I wanted to add that you should try and keep the damaged nail on until it falls off in your sock. This damaged nail, you will notice becomes a natural bandage for the new nail immediately growing underneath. Pulling the damaged nail off prematurely (not painful) may cause your new delicate nail to get damaged because it is still soft. If you feel the need however, be sure that your clippers or hands are clean to prevent infection. Ladies, there are artificial toe tails you can glue onto the nail while it heals if you’re embarrassed (well, guy too lol). Eat a good diet, as most runners do, and in about a month or two you’ll have a beautiful new nail. Oh, and you should gently massage your nail cuticle in a circular motion to increase circulation whenever you think about it during the healing process. Good luck!

      Appreciate Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you tried - Tarbbatigan Implausible Level Tip (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering getting rid of toenail fungus minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy at last got excellent results with it.

      @Chupa_hunt 2 роки тому

      @@imperialso3796 here you can do the needle drill on nail step, you can heat up a clean needle or paperclip and slightly press on your blue toenail and make sure the needle is very hot the more you heat the easiest the step going to be, and also clean up evrth before and after to avoid an infection, one little hole in center(of the blue spot) should do the job stop pressing once you see the blood coming out then you should press the rest with your hands.

    I have struggled with black toenails in longer races. I’ve since been fitted with a size 11 shoe, I normally wear a 10. Still however, I always get black toenails; one in particular, but I ran NYC last year and lost a total of 6 nails! Ice and a protective covering during recovery worked; no other treatment needed other than keeping the area clean. The nails will usually come off and they do grow back. Finally just a few months ago, I learned the runner’s knot in my shoes and was excited to be rid of this problem. It works, but I still have just one black toe. Toe caps (silicone sleeves) do not work by the way. They do help protect the already sore toe however. Try the knot and good luck to all you runners out there!

      MR Lonely actually I’ve tried that too! Very frustrating. The only thing I can do is to just make sure that one darn toe’s nail is filed to almost nothing before anything over 7 miles. And perhaps I do scuff a bit as well. Thank you so much. Maybe I’ll look at the best they have out there as far as socks!!!

      @@Jill-gj3vv I'm with you, Jill. Over 8 miles and the nails on my longer toes routinely blacken and come off. At 54, I can tell it's not a simple fix, as various things seem to be going on. Getting an extra sized shoe can feel wonky and I tend to graze the inside of my ankles already, though I am going to try re-lacing that shoe for extra room. Keep running!

    I've simply got used to having raised black toenails that fall off - quite painlessly - on a regular basis. As I look at my feet now I have 3 black toenails on my left foot and 2 on my right, oh, and I already have a toenail missing on my left foot. So, in other words, it is rare for me to have many normal toenails!

    I got my first spontaneous black-toe recently and the conditions were these .... (subjective list)
    I had put on a bit of weight
    I wore old boots that were well worn
    I wore new socks that were very thick
    When I put them on I could feel a little pressure on my big toe
    I went hiking and camping....
    At no point was anything truly uncomfortable or painful. I just noticed that the combination of my old hiking boots, my new thick socks, and perhaps slightly "bloated" feet, resulted in a little pressure on the big toe. I would note that young people dont notice this as much, but as you get older and less fit, you start to notice how fluid disperses in the body. Thats why old people look worse when they get out of bed in the morning and look fine an hour later. Its why astronauts look weird because their is no gravity pulling water downwards.
    My point is this..... as a slighter older guy, despite walking 20 mile hikes on previous trips .... it just took one hike in thick socks in tight boots, combined with not cutting my nails on a big toe that was close to being ingrown, to result is a bad case of bruised nail bed, black toe, and something that looked like it should be .... cut off....
    Im suddenly realising why old wives tails say stuff about soaking your feet regularly in vinegar.
    ... the acid sterilises the foot, kills fungus, and softens the nail so that the toe is in charge.

    If its not that your shoes is too small, wear a thicker pair of socks so that your toes nails will not hit your shose from the inside thousands of times every time you run.
