as someone with severe OCD this podcast, especially the last half, was so great and accurately portrayed the type of thought patterns and anxieties we have to deal with constantly
Seriously, ironically I just bought a house and went through the same "sacrifice" issue that Rick was going through. Being OCD and a perfectionist can make you really productive but can also keep you from making the compromises necessary to pursue your dreams.
This pod really doesn’t do the numbers it deserves. Everyone who knows it loves it, but not enough people know it! Huge fan Rick, there aren’t many people who can keep up with your bits and quick quips. Your a legend
I can't wait until 5 years from now, when Rick is in full stride, and at the top of his class, and I'll get to say I was a fan back in 2021. This podcast is incredible.
@@bpcobrian92 you said you can't wait to brag to people that you were here first...that's a weird way to enjoy an entertainer. It's like a real life 'first' I stand by the weirdness and self centered aspect of your comment. But hey, we both love Rick so who cares
Howie Mandel gave amazing mentor vibes here. Seeing him flip a switch and truly sympathize with Rick brought me to tears. I'm about Rick's age and I'm so far removed from network television that I didn't know anything about the origins of Howie's career. Such a beautiful soul and it's clear he's been working on himself for many years.
I was a kid when I was introduced to Howie. I believe I first saw him doing his stand-up. But his Bobby character he did which I remember seeing him doing at least the voices before the cartoon came out which I was also young enough to watch. I was always a fan of the voice and even learned to do it myself. I have always been a class clown, I have adhd, ocd, I’m on the spectrum, then on top of that I had a brain injury which made it very hard for me to get proper diagnosis or meds or any therapy. I am turning 44 this month and I have had a very hard life, but the point I want to make is podcasts of comedians actually talking about their life struggle, their issues has probably helped me more than any medicine or any therapy I have ever had. This podcast, is now at the top of all the ones that have helped me. Rick with Howie just was the perfect combo for me. When Rick cried so did I. Howie has so much wisdom and I wish he could give advice more to people who have ocd, adhd, neurodiverse mind. I think Howie rules and is one of my favorite people, and I’ve always liked Rick since I saw him on Tigerbelly and watched his podcast ever since. I love the mix of silly and real authenticity and heart, mixed with odd ball humor, it feels like home to me. I think it also helps that Rick is struggling like how I was struggling in my late 30’s. I just wanted to send a real authentic honest message to both Howie and Rick they may never read this but I want to thank both of you guys for helping me love myself more, trust myself more, and value the things I do that no one else does. Thank you for sharing your stories and being brave and all the hard work you put in to get to the place in your life where you are to be able to share your stories, I want you to know that it matters, you fucking rule, I love you guys so much and I hope I will be able to have success in the things I do, I believe I will, now. Many, many thanks.
The fact that you got emotional like that Rick really says a lot about you in a really positive way. You are stronger than you know and it really helps a lot to see this side of you. Thank you for leaving it in for us to see because I am right there with you and can fill your emotions slightly because I too have some OCD and some Autism spectrum things and some add.
Once again Rick, you are helping me feel so seen and not alone in this world. The fact that I feel so much in common with you and howie, all the OCD/spectrum stuff in relation to art making, your emotional vulnerability, etc. Just, thank you so much for existing and making things.
The simple fact that Rick got a guest to read the ad, especially that host being Howie Mandel… sheer genius and I haven’t laughed that hard in a while 😂
In the last 15 minutes of the podcast, Howie shares the best words of wisdom. This was such a great episode. Love Rick and Howie on all the podcasts they go on. ❤
I have ADHD and autism and I feel what Rick is saying… about not just wanting to survive. I’m feeling like I’m always having to dance around what people are thinking and how I’m perceived by my odd behavior. It can be exhausting to always have anxiety and not being able to just let go…
Seeing Rick be so open and emotional on this podcast and others (George Lopez comes to mind) and being vulnerable, talking to his heroes, allowing them to loosen up or get more emotional themselves -- its truly something wonderful
You just had the rare experience of having a talk with yourself 30 years in the future. Listen to what Howie said to you. Just keep doing what you do and you will get to where you want to be.
I love this podcast because of how genuine, funny, and entertaining it is. I’ve seen other comedy podcasts and when those hosts interview, they “continue” a conversation by agreeing with the guests perspectives by reiteration. Truly a unique gem of a channel. Thanks, Rick!
I am a great admirer of Rick and his ultimate awareness of everything around him and his ability to segue and swerve in and out of conversations but still hold attention. He is a can't miss podcast guest and I will seek out his appearances on other people's shows. THEN I started watching THIS show. WOW Just the bit with the 'plant' as an example. He took something so innocuous as what Howie said and held that in his attention long enough to ask Howie to move the plant over later all while being present and moments later still he *snaps* it all away(the editing wasn't perfect, but maybe it was on purpose). The creativity in this man's brain is so off the charts I am often in total bewilderment by it.
AMAZING episode!!! The editing was worth the wait!!! Haha! Howie Mandel was a terrific guest! You both have great chemistry. Gotta have Howie on for part 2! 👍🏼 Loved Bobby at the end! Nice to see him.

One of my all time favorite episodes of any podcast I've seen.
