- We visited the Vancouver based set for a look at what we can expect, and also for exclusive on-set interviews with the cast. We were able to speak with new series regulars Robert Picardo (Richard Woolsey) and Jewel Staite (Dr. Jennifer Keller), as well as returning cast members Rachel Luttrell (Teyla Emmagan), David Hewlett (Dr. Rodney McKay), and Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex).

Robert Picardo is awesome. Met him and talked to him a bit at a Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas and he's even more hilarious in person. Great guy. Needless to say, I was super excited to find out he was going to be a regular cast member in Atlantis.
Yeah, there was this waiter at a place we frequented growing up who looked exactly like him, and young me believed my family when they said it was him. So I apparently don't know him, but, his doppleganger was a cool guy too, who let me call him the EMH.

David Hewlett is the best actor ever!
That may be true, but his character is also quite possibly the best character ever devised... and also quite possibly matches his personality.

Omg, and Robert Picardo is amazing! The way he sarcastically makes fun on his character and himself, damn now I regret there wasn't more of him in the series. I just this week watched the fifth season, great job making Woolsey likable, oh how prematurely did it end...
great to see these from my fav sci fi ever,, robert was as endearing as he is in the show

I love Stargate Atlantis. The Best movie ever. I love all the actors/actress. Superb acting. You cant stop Stargate Atlantis...the time is tipe to continue more seasons i.e season 6-35. ❤

I hated the fact that Atlantis never really ended. Wraith are still out their people. Now you just have to make up your own ending for Atlantis.
I love that it never ended...that means they’re still out there, doing the job, or at least it still feels that way in syndication.

I'm not much for syfi, but since the TV is in the same room as my computer, I ended up having to watch Stargate with him and now I'm hooked. We binge watch it every day! Wish it lasted longer since we are almost finished! Just saw Joe Flanigan in an episode of SEAL Team. My husband and I recognized him at the same time, only because of his voice. He has put on a couple of pounds - middle age spread, I guess. Still good looking, though!
the gate room i would kill to go there!!!! i hope they make a permanent set of it

Sadly the Gateroom sets for both the SGC and Atlantis have been destroyed.
Jason is the only cast member that had a career after Atlantis got cancelled ... Everyone else just disappeared except for a spot here and there
Jason is the only actor who made it into mainstream, but then that is because most of the actors here do not want mainstream roles. David Hewlett is one of the most celebrated Sci Fi actors in the genre, yet you'll never see him in something like X men etc.
That's not exactly true. David Hewlett had some minor roles in pretty big movies, like Midway and the first reboot of Planet of the Apes.
Paul McGillion also had a tiny role in Star Trek 2009.

Robert Picardo did some other stuff, like a fairly big voice acting role in Call of duty.
These days I follow Hewlett when he streams, he streams often on UA-cam (might have moved to twitch), he is actually quite the nerd in real life 😂
@@joetri10no offense but these actors aren't NOT mainstream by choice. none not a single one of them would've turned down Momoas success if they had the opportunity
I love to watch interviews with SGA cast members, but I wish we could see interviews with some of the crew as well. The crew were the alchemists who provided the cast with the materials they needed to bring their characters to life (which they did in spades in my humble opinion). My son was privileged to be on set as a guest when they filmed their final episode, and the stories he brought home from the set were largely built around the amazing crew. Joe Mallozzi and Bridgette Prochaska were incredibly kind to my son (who was an adult at the time, mind you, not a teen). I even got a precarious thrill from my son's interaction with Robert Picardo, whose character "The Cowboy" from the Dennis Quaid/Meg Ryan -led movie "Innerspace" is my all-time favourite movie character. Mr. Picardo was incredibly welcoming to my son and generously stood for many photos on set. I would love to see an interview with Kenny Gibbs, the Property Master for SGA. What a wonderful series of interactions were so kindly provided for my son by Mr. Gibbs. I still feel great disappointment that a direct-to-vieo movie was never made - wasn't there some rumour about such a project making the rounds at various cons?
Yes true, the crew are often left out and it would be awesome to see them working on the set or productions.

The really messed up on Atlantis with dropping Torri Higginson. She was the Heart of Atlantis.

Amanda was alright too! Because i already knew her.
To be fair Beckett was the heart she was the soul, but that is an easy mistake to make. Either way they messed up when they lost both of them.
HeroSquad1millionA.D. I'd say that the show started to fall after season 2. Many missed oppertunities to make the show fantastic.
I never liked Wier, i thought she was too indecisive and inconsistent to be a good leader. Sam was alright, mostly because amanda tapping is a great actor, plus for stargate fans it was great to see an sg1 actor welcomed into the fold. Robert Picardo was great too, i hated Woolsey in SG1 but i loved him in season 5 of atlantis.
Jewel walked on set. Saw Jason &said.. "yehh so my characters gonna need a boyfriend immediately!!" 😂😂💀
that set is magnificent! my inner child just wants to go play there. Thanks enjoyed the interviews.

This was one the best stargate series made with all right cast perfectly chosen each character it was by far one my most favorite stargate series that I could surely say everyone even the actors did amazing job

I get why people want to know the Fate of the Destiny, but honestly? Screw it. SGU was so bad, i only want a 2 Minute Mini-Episode that clears that Story-line up and then a Big 'The End' floating though Space. Just that.
The Wraith-Storyline meanwhile actually is Important, actually needs to be Finished, and what-not-else could be said about it.
The Wraith-Storyline needs to be finished, and no one can finish it right with less than 2 Movies or 2 Seasons.
We also can't possibly get some entirely new Stargate in the Future and the Wraith-Storyline is just finished in ONE SENTENCE "Oh, yeah, remember the Wraith and how we defeated them?" and that's it... That would be terrible.

Slevin Channel not everyone thinks the same way as you about SGU. I went to Stargate convent for several years in uk. When asked what the fans thought of SGU and if we wanted to meet the cast it was almost unanimous to wanting to meet them at the conventions and have the SGU episodes playing in the screening room we used to have showing Stargate episodes. So although it was the least popular Stargate show the fans were still very much into it and we all used to chat about a 3rd season to conclude the series. Yes we also need another season or two or a movie to conclude Atlantis but if you speak to a big crowd of Stargate fans a lot of them still enjoys watching SGU every week or for some it grew on them over time.
Miss this series! Still watch it on Stan.

McKay went from scared cat to sarcasm in the face of death. I don't think more arrogant, more humbled if anything, from losing Carson to not always being right he has grown.

Jason Momoa is such a beautiful man but Rodney was (is) my favorite character. Cannot believe they cancelled the show after only 5 years. If they had just cast Amanda Tapping instead of Torri Higginson to begin with, it would have had a much longer run.

@@leisergeist if he failed to buy the rights to it could they not do a webshow fanzine show like Star Trek Continues, and have as many of the Orginal cast as can do it for volunteering -- don't think you can get sued if your doing it as a non profit all volunteer production.

Rachel Luttrell is great, she can sing, dance and act( something in common with a lot of Bollywood stars). But probably she is as a person, too decent to get roles in Hollywood movies.

Hey Stargate Atlantis fans - would like your opinion on one of their episodes - the story where they redid the first episode and Dr.Weir ends up time traveling to be the only one left at Atlantis in the cyrotube to meet herself back in the present where she tell how everyone died on the first day,. Ok my question in the orginal Stargate series Elisbeth Weir is played by a blonde actress then in the Spin off pilot has been changed to Tori H. So my question is why didn't they use the blonde Dr. Weir for the Time travel story it would have fixed the continuity of both shows by explaining the actor switch ( the Universe reset so that their would not be two identical Dr. Weir's inside one Universe. When ever a show does a alternate realities story if their is two of one character the extra must always return to the universe of their orgin.
So anyone like that idea it would have made that episode so much better in my opinion.

Cause that’s his roll? In stargate he was meant to just be a ‘strong’ big guy he even said she doesn’t talk much. I think he gets type casted with barbarian type of rolls such as drgo, Conan and this. Now though he’s getting more independent rolls and stuff like braven and aqua man.
