I honestly felt like SGA could've easily had 10 more years in it. I hate it when shows get cancelled early and I hate it even more when it's a popular show too. When you alienate your fans like that it's that much harder to get them to like your new show that you want them to see.
Exactly. I love SGU, but SGA should never have been cancelled either.
I agree. It wasn't intentional on the producers part. I really think Atlantis could have easily had several more seasons. I liked the idea of adding a new series to the franchise but once i had the opportunity to see sgu i really was disappointed with what they had done. I wanted to like it and gave it more chances than i have ever given any tv series or movie. It took me a very long time just to cringe my way through the first season. Awful awful experience and series imo but i wasn't disappointed that they received a green light on a new series. I just wish they had not lost sga in the process.
I love him. AMAZING human and actor. very funny. humble heart. Just a good soul. 😊❤☀️

i really like this guy , and he would of made a great director i think , he certainly did well at the episodes he wrote and he is unbelievably natural when it comes to his acting.Think it was b.s them telling him that there were regs that stoped him from directing .

Now that SGU has been cancelled, it is evident that it was not the smart choice. It's so obvious that Joe was pretty unhappy, probably could go as far as saying pissed off that SGA's cancellation. It was a good show, great cast, and it's a shame. They lost out on a good opportunity.
This is FANTASTIC news - look at the end of this video he says a SCI FY TV show with DAVID in the works. This is great YEEE HAAAA.
I Love David and Joe together like ATLANTIS , the comedy and atmosphere they create is the best I have seen in ANY TV SHOW !!!!!
He is a writer as well - that is FANTASTIC that means we will GET MORE GREAT TV.

@fmcc0904 I'll admit that I didn't give SGU the benefit of the doubt when season 1 came around. I was one of the pissed off SGA fans, but having watched the single episode in which David Hewlett made his return as Dr. Rodney McKay, I'll admit that they had some really interesting concepts for the show that may have stood better independently than simply being slapped into the SG franchise. I thought your thoughts were pretty spot on about Wright and Mallozzi. I'm just sad personally as a fan.
Good thing his boys asked him to turn the show off before they got to the James/Lieutentant Drops His Pants bonk scene in the supply closet, I don't think Joe would have liked them to see that!

Very good interview, love him and it's a plus point to me I understand his English very well (my mothertongue isn't English). I agree, SGA IS better.
About the movie: financial problems delay it unfortunately and MGM still have the only rights to produce anything related to SGA (as far as I know).

A DragonConos videókból néhány részletet láttam, jópofa :) Ja igen a csók.. amikor Torri mondja "Caldwell?" és cupp. :) Aranyos :) Mondta 1-2 ember hogy Joe zárkózott, szerintem csak kevésbé kedvezményez de ő is elég nyitottnak tűnik, mégha nem is úgy "műveli" ezt, mint David. Rendes :)
@sheweir Egyetértek, bár remélhetőleg azért nem olyan rettentő ritka ^^; Nagyon bírom őt (és a többi SGA színészt) én is :) Aranyos ez az interjú, és nálam az is pluszpont hogy nagyon jól lehet érteni, amit angolul mond (feliratoztam is magamnak a videót, hátha esetleg érdekel valakit majd úgy pl SFPortnál :) )

@lilaznmelmel SGU started to improve, but they pissed away the enthusiasm and promise it had with nearly an entire season of dullness punctuated by pointless bickering and overbearing pop culture. My thoughts on the situation with regard to the connection between the lack of SG-1/SGA movies and SGU ... watch?v=UYCBKu-mHMI It never ceases to amaze me the way the squeedrones rally and swarm all over anyone who doesn't think that Brad Wright and Joseph Mallozzi defecate 24-carat gold.

Its a good thing Jo Flanigan didn't see stargate Universe then..i didn't like that show it didn't turn out right. Stargate Atlantis was the best and i wish they could have done more...

He's got a strange accent, it's almost like he has a southern twang.
Stargate ‘fans’ are odd, they boycotted the franchise so that it was a failure then they moan that they haven’t been given another Stargate show. They cry that they want Atlantis back but they can’t conceive of the problems like rising costs because of actors demanding more and more wages etc. And the fact that Mamoa and a couple of others wanted to leave to do other projects so it wouldn’t have been the same anyway, and the story had run its course. Like young children who cry because they can’t have what they want and don’t have the intelligence to understand why.
Sounds like the fans of Supernatural..........

SGU sucked balls. Too damn much anger, conflict, and deceit between characters. Absolutely the opposite personalities of those that would be chosen to be on this type of mission. It made me hate just about every character on the show. Kinda like a soap opera, which also suck balls.
