6 Forgotten Space Simulation Games to Pick Up in 2024! - Ігри
Nexus Jupiter Incident is absolutely amazing. This is how you make a space game! The mechanics are brilliant, the story is ok but we seriously need more games like this.
Nexus is an amazing game. Played it when it fist came out and i go back to it every now and again.
Playing the Star Trek Mod now!
Knocking it out the park with these lists bro!
Was a joy to make this one!
Nexus, my childhood love... You sold it right at the start
Angels Fall First isn’t a sim, but it’s awesome & underrated.
I know the game! Could defo be one to recommend for the future :)
Haegemonia: Legions of Iron was a game I enjoyed years ago, especially the espionage mechanics once you got to that part of the game.
Is it available today?
@@LTGamingUA-cam If I remember correctly it is available on both Steam and GOG.
@@BenGreene will take a look now! Thanks 😃
God so many childhood memories :)
Great video! Some of these hidden gems should never be forgotten!
my most favorite space games are Descent Freespace 1&2
Freespace 2 is dialed in for a future list :)
@@LTGamingUA-cam there were also Freelancer and Starlancer, but you cant get them digitallly anywhere i think. I've actually never beaten the last mission of Freespace 2. what awsome games they where
Same for me. Still waiting for a Third Part o Remaster
@@LTGamingUA-cam also heard about an awsome remaster mod someone made for X-Wing Alliance or one of them games
@@banterabc5135 Yes I heard this also and that their is a VR mod?
I have over 1k Hours in Empyrion and don't feel I have scratched the surface of this game's potential. I really enjoy being able to build my own ships. Sometimes the exploration of materials can be a bit of a challenge and require patience
Gonna dive into it more this week!
Criminally underrated
@@LTGamingUA-cam Don't think you're going to get away with just jumping in for 30 minutes. Before you know it you'll turn around and it's been 3 hours
@@WdyWP playing more tonight haha
I started playing this again in the last month with Reforged Eden and lost 150 hours into it. The capital vessel combat is really challenging and satisfying.
I-war 2 : egdge of chaos , old but i loved it, great flight physics.
And can you run it on modern PC? I love and have the game in my steam library. I've played it long time ago but I remember I couldn't install later.
Hey. UA-cam recommended this channel to me. I love it (all the way from Melbourne, Australia, as of last week, Australia's biggest city)!
Speaking of biggest could you look at some games that are 4x but allow you to still control fleets in battles? I'm a capital ship with a small amount of ships in the fleet kind of guy.
To be honest, I've never gotten over Sword of the Stars.
Love your work.
Appreciate the kind words! Loads more to come 🚀
Helium Rain for Free? Yes please that will be great. Also some great extyra additions here to the regular list that you did :) Empyrion is on sale too!
I'm back playing it again. Such chill 2001: A Space Odyssey vibes!
I have over 4K hours in Empyrion. Needless to say, I like it. It is a blast in multiplayer with the right people. Generally I'm not big on multiplayer but this works.
So happy for you guys that your channel is finally getting traction!
It's gone crazy the last few weeks! We appreciate the support 😃
SP Gemini is great for sure. I didnt play one, but I do have access to it thru 2s better engine.
Warlords is still my favorite. 3 is stupidly hard to get into for me because its more frigate focused until your max level to get a cap ship....which can be a long grind. Even the Devs know they shot themselves in the foot with their decision to do 3 like they did. Unfortunately, from what i recall a few years ago, their studio had a fire and they have had a hard time getting back up to things.
Great features here, really enjoyed it.
I’ve got almost 800 hours in Empyrion and I’m still finding brand new stuff I’ve never run into before because each play through is never the same and fun with friends
I’ve been playing Spacebourne 2 lately, and while it’s not perfect, it’s a damn good game for
4:02: I love this game. EGS is interesting, complicated to a point where you get into ship and base building. I have mountains carved out that would make NORAD cry. Don’t open the first few halls. Each hall was a base placed next to one another and connected by miles of tunnels, moons carved hallow… too much time as a mole.
Not sure if you've mentioned it before, but "Starsector" is an absolutely brilliant "space sim." It doesn't get as much exposure probably because it is played from a strategic, top-down perspective... but it is a gem.
I own it also but haven't jumped in yet! Great Recommendation :)
Just stumbled across this channel!
Hope i can find some more niche/hidden space games here!
I feel like the old X-Games have been a forgotten aswell, at least a little bit. I'm very happy that X4-Foundations made such a huge name for itself in the space-sim community, but the 3 X3 games will always be my favourite space sims ever and they can be picked up on sale for less than 5 bucks at times.
They are very different from X4, and are definetly worth checking out! X3:TC/AP aged beautifuly and, despite beeing 16/13 years old at this point, still provide amazing visuals today.
It would be great if you find something! :)
I have over 1500 hours in EGS it is simply brilliant and still receives updates
Stay away from the DLC. It's horribly designed, untested for QA, and nothing more than a blatant cash grab.
I see what you mean about 2001 and Helium Rain, what a gorgeous looking game
The game does not have the greatest scope in the world but is a just a beautiful experience. If this dev had the money they could of made an epic sequel. But sadly I think they moved on but made their game free before they did!
I adore Warlords, though controls are wonky as hell sometimes. It runs decently on Steam Deck as well but controlls are weird. They did announce a Steam Deck Verification patch coming but then radio silence. Also on the steam discussion they did say they would return to Warlords 2 at some point.
Yes I enjoyed the game and want to give it another run soon. The fact it works on Steam Deck is a bonus! Appreciate the comment!
Liberation looks awesome!
So cool! What a concept :)
A great list here! Love Arvoch.
An underrated gem :) Playing my way through the campaign. Would like to explore the MP aspect. Thanks to Starwraith 3D Games also for the key.
Again, great suggestions overall!
We keep going 🚀🚀
Any love for the Spacebourne games? They're very janky but quite interesting IMO Liberation looks cool, the aesthetic reminds me of the original Alone In The Dark and Interstate 76.
Yes totally. I own both and reviewed the Early Access of the 2nd game :) We got asked to cover it again the other day. Solid game just needs soke quality improvements! Impressive for a solo dev.
Starshatter: The Gathering Storm is really great to if you like military space sims
That game is no longer sold.
@@Taffy84 The game has been made Open source on Hard Light Products where they also have mods for the game
@@0michelleki020 Oh, didn't know that, thx.
Thx for the video I'm just find another game to play on deck,
THX for this videos great
Glad you enjoyed it :)
You should try Freelancer, an old but great game.
I want a Modern Wing Commander style game. Something story driven with characters to interact with. I am happy I got a free game today though!
And a good one! Underspace is out tomorrow should check it out!
@@LTGamingUA-cam OMG! It has space monsters? Sold!
Liberation is my Jam, Braaaa 🐸😎 The industrious LTG show no signs of slowing up their meteoric channel as it starts to shed the weight of the world, exploding into the stratosphere having jettisoned all other pretenders …next stop MARZ 🧨🚀🧨🚀🐌🥊🐸🐸❤️🐌🌈
A glimpse into the mind of a madman haha. We appreciate these comment as always!
@@LTGamingUA-cam moi? mad?
Defo.....@@guyrose2239
These lists are quite helpful for a casual simmer like me. Though I have to say my space game of choice is still Elite Dangerous, kinda surprised that hasn't been covered on this channel yet but niche interests are gonna niche. :)
We covered Elite in the latest VR video! 🚀🚀
@@LTGamingUA-cam LOL, rip me then. Thanks I’ll look that up!
You could play Empyrion totally in space once you have a capital vessel.
I picked it up while making the video and will dive into it more 🚀
Not sure how much game play you would get playing only in space (lack of POI's, compared to planets). Once I get a CV, I am done with having a base (the CV is my base), but I still spend most of my time raiding POI's on planets.
I love Empyrion but I wouldn't qualify it as a Space sim. It's a survival crafting and a block building game at its core
We bend the rules sometimes ;)
from your list the only one i definetaly have played is Empyrion, on one hand the fact that you can literally build everything from bases to capital ships using block could be either a blessing or a curse, depending on how you would think about this game...
I spend months crafting a capital ship, a small cruiser class ship, and honestly that ship was one of the most amazing things i ever did, on the other hand, there's basically no point in doing this ships, because they will either be wreacked with a single shot of a bigger ship, or you would completely demolish, a small ship with a bigger ship, in other words, the space combat is quite unbalanced, on the other hand, the whole galactic survival is really true, you are constantly dealing with things like thirst, hungry, cold, heat, radiation toxixity, and even parasites, besides the creatures you alson need to face, your ship sort of becomes a mobile base where you can travel anywhere, that fact that you can store vehicles on capital ships also is a good thing, but you are constantly trying to find fuel for your machines, and that keeps you on the loop.
it is a good game, but need some improvments to be a better game.
Love the giggles out of the players when umpire comes
Did Space Engineers finally add gameplay? Probably not.
Haha 🚀
EMPYRION best game, i should reinstall it ASAP
Did you try Rebel Galaxy?
I did! Can make a future list 🚀
@@LTGamingUA-cam Hey, you could make some kind of list like: Unusual Spaceship Games. Like Rogue Galaxy, FTL, Space Run. Just a suggestion.
Still hoping there would be a sequel to Freelancer or a remake.
What was the name of that last game previewed in the introduction? It looked really good, like some sort of Strategy RTS? ua-cam.com/video/YQdiHloj2DI/v-deo.html
Can anyone help me?
I had a friend back at 2000s and he was playing a space game that I search all those years but I can't find it anywhere.
It was released around 1999-2003.
It looked a little like Helium Rain.
The player were starting as kid that lost his parents and got in a group of Pirates or smugglers or something like that.
He grew up and started taking missions around multiple systems.
The systems were full of ships coming and going, police ships that were scanning for illegal cargo and such.
Can ANYONE tell me the name of that game?
Please!!
We had a think but the back story through us a bit! We will let you know if we come across it.
Sounds quite like Freelancer I think - Tom
@@LTGamingUA-cam It wasn't Freelancer.
It was not "3rd person" like Freelander. It was "in cockpit" view.
It had similarities with Freelancer.
I have a foggy memory that even the name of the game was similar.
I have searched but I hit a wall in every way.
The player's ship looked a bit like a "turtle" shape...if that helps...
@@LTGamingUA-cam Thanks for your reply! 👍🙂
@@hariszark7396 Parkan?
I agree with Nexus being a pretty good game, I've played it a few times over the years, but it's got its problems, or maybe I should say irritations, and I'm not just talking about Vice Admiral Norbank the giant douchebag lol. Interestingly, if you've played Days Gone then you will have recognized his voice as the equally annoying Colonel Garret, so that must be his acting forte, having a knack for pissing people off.
There's a lot of space trash out there that is not worth peoples time today, nothing else on that list I'd try again. I prefer to play campaigns of the best games we've had and leave the mediocre stuff alone, they might be cheap but the combined cost is better spent on or put towards one good game than several poor quality games. Helium is free though so fair enough.
Always nice to come across another channel of space nuts.
We just keep giving the people the options!
Why does none of these type of videos mention the game freelancer? lol, With all the mods FL has as well.
Well you got to let us get to it 😂🚀
Probably the fact you can't buy Freelancer, and it won't run on a modern PC, has a lot to do with it. Why review a game that basically can't be played 99% of the players.
@@xerxes8632 where there's a will...
@@mrmiffmiff That's why I said 99%, there always will be that hardcore 1% who will make it work. Most people will not. I liked the game, but not enough to set up virtual machines to play it.
@@xerxes8632 Good because you don't need one. The reason Freelancer doesn't work on modern systems outright is because of its DRM, which doesn't work on Windows OSes after Vista. All you really need is a crack. Or one of many easy-to-use fan patches out there that achieve the same results. The game can be played in a modern OS with minimal effort, VMs are not only unnecessary but probably make the experience worse. The upload of the game on My Abandonware actually has all that's necessary included, with easy-to-follow instructions.
mhh what about STAR TREK ONLINE?
That's mostly an MMO RPG Type of Game and nobody likes crap like micro transactions.
Nexus Jupiter incident made by Hungarian studio is like space chess
Yeah and the Star Trek mod is fun too!
Liberation is great
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident - It was so cool to play it. It was a small homeworld style game for me but more controlled. I recommend it O7
