Hi Joe and Van. A new subbie :) lovely vlog. You two are about the age of my children who are half mix. My eldest was born 1995 in Duma, brit-filipina. Sadly, I haven't taught them the language when they're small. I regretted the lost time. I enjoyed your vlogs, had listened to 2 or 3 and decided to sub. I'm from negros island, lived in duma during my student life. Someday I'd like to come back and retire there, had secured a land on edge of Valencia - Bacong area 20 yrs ago, very much uphill and love it there for my passion of a gardening and plant collection. I may go back and forth travelling to my 2nd home country where my children be based, one is soon tying the knot. I'd really wish my children are based in the Philippines, which is not likely to happen. Regarding looks, you both are great looking mixes and you'll make a great couple. Thank you for the info Grace. Although, I would say that there is a difference between our case and what you are stating. My father is pure french which makes me half French and my mother is pure Filipina so that also makes me Half Filipino. I also have a dual citizenship. And that is the same case for Vanessa. Most Spanish/Chinese filipinos have been passed down from many generations which makes them pure Filipino with family names and mixed features from their very distant foreign blood. Although, I did also state in the video that i consider myself to be Filipino since I was born and raised here. Thanks for commenting, Grace! ❤️🙌🏻
Germany is a very nice country but when I was working there as OFW nurse the stress level extremely high plus discrimnation in hospital unimaginable undiscribable. I realized I left paradise and fun in my humble country Philippines. Now im back for good watching the 2 of u for first time. Frankreich u Deutschland sind schön aber Philippinen ist die Beste, egal was die andere sagen. Hier ist alles einfach und Paradis.🇵🇭🏝️👍🙂

15:50 I am just simple, I get an iced americano.. But what I like is the serenity of some of the coffee places around Dumaguete like Baslay Highland Brew Coffee. Good coffee and an very nice breeze and view. By the way if you want to learn german, there is a good language school in Dumaguete for it. And of course a lot of german expats to talk to, maybe one of the highest population of them in the Philippines is in Dumaguete and Bohol, I think.

For one, it was enriching and intellectually stimulating since you were forced to confront many things on that level. This was an awesome video. I mean you two walking and talking along in such a beautiful lush landscape of tropical greenery with the local goings on in the middle of the day was visually stunning really. Especially the last bit where you raced in the field. As for content ideas, I think it would be good to include some historical perspectives of the phillipines. Maybe profile the time of the spanish administration and its influence on culture and arcitecture. Or maybe a historical overview of the WWII era. Philippines society were getting more diverse especially in the Visayan and mindanao islands . During covid , nothing much to do and I discovered you tube . I combed you tube and I found out that some people in Europe, Canada, USA Australia and middle eastern found there love in Visaya and Mindanao not much in Luzon . Just look the movie industries in the philippines , majority of the actor and actress were mistisa and mistiso .And also ,since the world economy opened up ,10 million Filipinos worked overseas and somes of these Filipinos found there love in overseas . I was too young when I went to Dumaguete only once, maybe around six years old, just imagine the memory still in my brain. I still remember the grass and the coconut tree and the river and the stone in the river. That is the magic of our brain. I am going 53 years old now, just imagine that.

@@VanandJoe I remember many times when I visited Thailand sweating so much I couldn't believe it. It takes a few weeks to get kind of used to it, though I never did. I was drinking a lot of water and that made me sweat even more. I'm living here in Mexico and to me 80 degrees here and above is very hot to me and I wear shorts and light cotton shirts just about every day. I'd like to live in the Philippines but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to sit outside much and enjoy a coffee or a meal there. I'd probably only be comfortable sitting in a mall there every day.

You should see the part of your root. I mean, your father‘s homeland which became ours not because we totally gave up our being Filipinos, but it was the way we had to make our lives here Europe more convenient than having the Philippine passport, specially when it comes to travelling to other countries.

The next time we visit the Philippines will be longer (min. of 3 mos.) as we are no longer working and all our kids are independent. 15:50 I am just simple, I get an iced americano.. But what I like is the serenity of some of the coffee places around Dumaguete like Baslay Highland Brew Coffee. Good coffee and an very nice breeze and view. By the way if you want to learn german, there is a good language school in Dumaguete for it. And of course a lot of german expats to talk to, maybe one of the highest population of them in the Philippines is in Dumaguete and Bohol, I think.

Thanks for sharing your story. What a life! Your dad was a brave and adventurous spirit. And clearly a kind and loving father . I think it worked out well for you in a multi-cultural household. For one, it was enriching and intellectually stimulating since you were forced to confront many things on that level. This was an awesome video. I mean you two walking and talking along in such a beautiful lush landscape of tropical greenery with the local goings on in the middle of the day was visually stunning really. Especially the last bit where you raced in the field. As for content ideas, I think it would be good to include some historical perspectives of the phillipines. Maybe profile the time of the spanish administration and its influence on culture and arcitecture. Or maybe a historical overview of the WWII era. Of course, I'd watch whatever you 2 can drum up from your personal lives and travels.

I was too young when I went to Dumaguete only once, maybe around six years old, just imagine the memory still in my brain. I still remember the grass and the coconut tree and the river and the stone in the river. That is the magic of our brain. I am going 53 years old now, just imagine that.

@@VanandJoe I remember many times when I visited Thailand sweating so much I couldn't believe it. It takes a few weeks to get kind of used to it, though I never did. I was drinking a lot of water and that made me sweat even more. I'm living here in Mexico and to me 80 degrees here and above is very hot to me and I wear shorts and light cotton shirts just about every day. I'd like to live in the Philippines but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to sit outside much and enjoy a coffee or a meal there. I'd probably only be comfortable sitting in a mall there every day.

You should see the part of your root. I mean, your father‘s homeland which became ours not because we totally gave up our being Filipinos, but it was the way we had to make our lives here Europe more convenient than having the Philippine passport, specially when it comes to travelling to other countries.

Yes, i would humbly say that my wife and I are happy and both of us are retired now. Our children are all grown up. The next time we visit the Philippines will be longer (min. of 3 mos.) as we are no longer working and all our kids are independent.
