Zahn's original trilogy was one of the best scifi series ever, and not just as Star Wars books. They should have been made into movies in their own right. So yes i want more. This guy is a master. Absolutely brilliant!
He is such a sweet, friendly and humble person, and it is so great and deserved that Disney / SW picked up Thrawn and made him canon! And he is so wunderful with fans and the Star Wars community, enjoying costume wearing people at conventions or wearing 501st legion's shirts or his honorary membership nameplate.
Fantastic novel. Going into the mind of Thrawn was incredible & I just found that the slower pacing in the novel really helped flesh out the 2 main characters. & the missions/battles were such a great way of developing Thrawn as a character in a natural way
This man is my GOD and hearing him say hey these guys grew up reading the books we love (cant call it Legends) and what is canon will be respected is all I need. Some of those stories did get a way bit out there so cherry picking the best bits is they way I thought would be best to move forward. More books please Mr Zahn Sir they will be read
i like how google is one of the biggest and most powerful tech-companies in the world and can't manage to have someone speak for 10 minutes without sound issues. very cool.
when i listen to the audio book with the back ground music with the actors Reading there lines. it felt like I was back in the past in a 1940 star wars radio show. it was amazing it felt like Star Wars THANK YOU MR ZAHN
Although I haven't read Thrawn yet, I absolutely love his first trilogy, and the due-logy years later. He is the main reason I hate the Disney Star Wars trilogy. What we could have had compared to what we got , and I am not hearing good things on the Rise of Skywalker either.
Whoever does thrawn the movie please pick people who have not just read the back of the book (yale) but have digested the books and have practiced the mindset of thrawn.
I have to be honest, I love Zahn's books! I read Heir to the Empire in 1991. I remember-I was at my brother and sister-in-law's house and bought it in a bookstore and kind of shut everyone else out to read it. I would love to read his new books, but I just can't. I've promised myself not to touch anything of the new Disney timeline. I know that sounds...immature, but I simply can't stand what they did in the movies
The new Disney timeline is full of great books and comics. Examples being the 2015 Vader comic, the 2017 Vader comic, the 2017 Dr Aphra comic (about a character from Vader 2015), Dooku Jedi Lost, and Master and Apprentice. There are bad stories out there but you also have to remember that just because some part of the universe is bad doesn’t mean the whole thing is bad.
@@joemullarkey5719 It's not just Star Wars-I have a complete aversion to reboots. The Star Trek reboot at least keeps the new timeline in another universe and doesn't pretend the original one didn't happen, but I still have an aversion to it. Transformers is another franchise. I started collecting them in 1984. Ever since G1 stopped in 1991, I couldn't be bothered (with the exception of TF: Prime. But even watching that, the word reboot keeps niggling in my mind. The same with DC comics reboot in the late '80s with the Crisis timeline. In a way, I understand why they do this-to keep the ideas "fresh" and able to market to a new generation, but it still really bothers me. I think Disney could have at least kept the "Legends" timeline going with new books!
SJHFoto My opinion on the whole legends dump is similar to Timothy Zahn’s. He once said that it is unfair to the story team at Lucasfilm for them to have to work around an overcrowded universe and he sees the whole legends continuity as Lucasfilm changing it to the point of view of someone in the outer rim “we don’t get a lot of news out here but we did hear of this tale of Luke Skywalker and Grand Admiral Thrawn. It may be true, it may not.” That’s just my opinion though.
I know it is year after my comment, but if you enjoyed the EU, I definitely recommend reading some of the canon books. I too dislike the sequels, and prefer the Thrawn trilogy, but most canon books do not even contradict the EU, and if they do, it is mostly in some minor way. Simply stay away from the books that are set in the sequel era, and treat the other books as a continuation of the EU. That way, I guarantee you will have a good time.
Disney should fire Kathleen Kennedy and some others and put people like Dave Filoni and Timothy Zahn in charge of Star Wars. They are the best to decide what should be canon. Kennedy is using SW for feminist propaganda (just look at the last Jedi and I don't say that feminism is bad, it's good but SW shouldn't be used for it in that way).
Timothy Zhan is an author not a producer or corporation owner🤣🤣 i get the point of your comment but do you understand how unrealistic that is? Dave Filoni is also a creator and not a business man.
I always enjoy listening to mr. Zahn speak. However, maybe next time you can choose someone who is actually interested in the person he/she's interviewing? ...The chubby chick obviously had no clue of Star Wars, and barely even payed attention...

star wars is not sci fi though
TheGamerThatNeverWas yes it is,
TheGamerThatNeverWas it’s sci fi, fantasy.
Reading Heir to the Empire 🔥
yeah it's excellent so far, I am really excited to get the last command later this week! It should've been the sequel trilogy

Zahn is a legend. He's one of the main people who inspired me to write!
Love hearing Zahn especially when he talks about Thrawn or SW in general.
Hope well get a Thrawn film 🤞

New Thrawn book was Written by him and stays true to Thrawns character, trust me it's really good!

IronMaximus
I've been saying that for months now.
and nobody in power cares ^.^

This guy is awesome
he did change during clone wars
A mass of a redhead. So pretty :)
Travesty that his work is now non-canon
It still is for me. I can't stand the Disney version. I rally miss Legends (even the Crystal Star!)
@@SJHFoto ^Smae regardless of what disney says is "canon" the EU and legends is the true canon for me
He has many canon books...
"cool"

With a follow up by her after every question......wait for it...….cool!
NOT COOL!
I love this guy, but the lady doing the interview is so bland and boring that every time she talks it takes me away from Zahn destroys my focus.
TheCree7 She's an android programmed to read the questions and say "Cool".
TheCree7 Exactly.Fat cow.What a worthless spam.Great author and writer.
@@christopherthrawn1415~~~ And I am sure you are so handsome the girls cant keep away from you . Why the fuck would you respond like that ?
My creator... ✌❤
He's being nice but the new star wars films are dead to me even rogue one is copying the Han Solo trilogy
Thrawn falls to a fucking space whales?thats fucked up.
That’s not his doing thouh
pink hair is hot
There should be new books with new characters doing stuff that's not as common in star wars, ex. A heist kind of thing
Darkdragonblade scoundrels was pretty good
